What are you getting up to this festive season?
There's so much that's going on in Durban this December: Sound Factory, Rage, F-ink. On the 16th and 17th I've got some big shows happening and I've got the underground - an annual event (that goes down) every 25 Dec. I was mostly excited about Nasty C's show that he did on the 8th - the Ivyson tour.
What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received?
I feel like gifts are gifts, regardless whether you like it or not. You should be thankful for even getting a gift 🎁
How do you celebrate Christmas?
During the day I see close friends and family members and at night, we turn up 😁😁

Yes! Am having shows all over Johannesburg and Pretoria!. And I am booked for some crazy NYE parties!
By now, everyone’s heard of rap duo Champagne69. These guys are responsible for delivering dope tracks ‘Say Sumn’ ft Moozlie and ‘Champain’ to your ears. They also did the most with their live performance at Capsule Fest JHB in September 2017 and recently repped for Redbat’s ‘Next Level’ campaign. Keep your eyes locked on these guys in 2018, because they ain’t going away any time soon!
What’s your favourite items on your the list?
The G Shock Black Out series - we’re performing artists and we need to always be on time, simple. The Air Force 1 Lows and the Sneaker Lab Premium Kit - we aren’t huge sneaker collectors but we know that every time we step outside we have to have the cleanest kicks, so these are just essential for any shoe lover.
What is the worst gift you’ve ever received?
Siya: I received a female Barbie doll which made no sense.
William: I don’t remember, really never been the type to celebrate Christmas.
Where are you turning up this festive season?
Apart from all the performances we have lined up the party will be at club bedroom with DJ pillow on the decks, LOL. We’re spending a lot of time in-studio so the work never ends.
What’s the top – very top – thing on your Christmas wish list?
William: Wealth.

How do you celebrate Christmas?
We celebrate Christmas around family. It’s just a time to appreciate the people that are in your life and it’s a time to reflect and who better to reflect with than your family.

Siya: I haven’t had it (yet).
William: I think the best for me has to be in the 7th Grade - PLK was lit that year.

I think the best one is yet to come - this year, with the team. It's been a crazy year for all of us and we have so much to celebrate and be grateful for.

My festive season started off super lit in Durban with a few Junior Lavie parties and The Ivyson Tour. I'll be back in Durban for a couple more other gigs as well as other parts of the country.

Which items on your wish list do you love the most?
I first saw the Puma platform Trace on a fashion/lifestyle page on Instagram and immediately fell in love! As a sneaker head, I love shoes that are classic, yet trendy and the Platform Trace is the perfect shoe to combine style with sport. Puma keeps raising the game and I love it. The Fila Horatio Cropped hoodie is fun and sexy. I adore hoodies - especially in Cape Town, where you experience all four seasons in one day.

What’s the worst gift you’ve ever received?
The worst gift I ever received was a hand-painted toothbrush.
Where might we bump into you this festive season?
I'll be between CT and JHB. The last 'Night Show' was held at District on the 9th of December and glorious hip hop sets were played. In CT the 'Corona Sunset Festival' happens on Saturday the 16th and I'm really keen to soak up sun and jam to good deep house at the Bugalow. Then I will attending Afropunk in JHB and will be lucky enough to see great performances from a wide variety of international acts. The theatre is another place I'll be turning up this festive season, as the Baxter Theatre presents 'Aunty Merle' The Musical and I plan on watching it more than once! Other than that I'll be reading on the beach and socializing in spaces like the faithful Yours Truly.
What’s at the very top of your Christmas wish list?
A drone. I'm a little photographer internally and I love gadgets, but my camera fell and broke so I can't be an internal photographer anymore!
How do you celebrate Christmas?
I celebrate Christmas surrounded by family, friends and pets! We have a big bring and share, every family brings at least two dishes and we eat a variety of foods. We listen to good music, laugh and enjoy each other's company.
What’s the best Christmas you’ve ever had?
The Christmas when I turned 7. I used to wake up extra early on Christmas morning, but my mom wouldn't let me open any gifts until after lunch when we were with our extended family. That morning I had woken up and taught myself how to whistle. I was really proud of myself, my parents were not to happy about their 7 year old daughter walking around the house at 6am, whistling. They let me open my gifts early to keep me quiet! I was so happy.

When A$AP Ferg was here for Capsule Fest 2017 he hinted at the fact that he wanted to collaborate with SA artists Frank Casino, Nasty C and AKA. Well, our prayers for such a collaboration has been answered - “Low” by Frank Casino ft A$AP Ferg will drop a bit later today - on Frank Cino’s birthday!

A$AP Ferg teased a collaboration with a South African artist when he performed at Capsule Fest 2017, which was hosted by Sportscene on Saturday, 16 September at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg. The line up featured headline acts A$AP Ferg and Nasty C, including local acts Frank Casino, Champagne69, Shane Eagle, J Molley, Sho Madjozi, DJ Speedsta, PatrickXXlee, DJ Loyd and more. Aside from music, people got their street wear fix from international brands adidas Originals, Nike, Reebok, Converse and local brand Sneaker Lab.

ICYMI: Nasty C x Redbat Launches at Sportscene Canal Walk
Last night we had a launch party celebrating the Nasty C x Redbat sportscene exclusive collaboration as well as our brand new store in Canal Walk. If you missed the launch party or didn’t manage to catch it on our socials, we’ve put together a young feature so that you can catch up with the latest happenings.

Last night, SA hip hop prince Mr 031/Jiggy launched his EXCLUSIVE collab with Redbat at Canal Walk - our biggest Sportscene store yet and also Africa’s biggest sneaker store - with a bang. Keep scrolling for an up close view of his collab as well as some pics from his Canal Walk performance.
T-shirts in the range are named after Nasty C tracks: “Bad Hair,” “Phases” and “The Coolest Kid in Africa” (Davido ft. Nasty C).
The collab features Nasty C x Redbat hoodies in orange and black, black and white graphic T-shirts as well as a range of accessories.

The launch party went down at the brand new Canal Walk store, which is the biggest sneaker store in Africa with a sneaker wall of 32 metres long.

Event features on the evening included a Sneaker Lab sneaker cleaning booth, customised Nasty C x Redbat collab ice creams, a selfie booth (#KingsBooth) and a Nasty C x Redbat performance, Wildfire tattooing, Samsung VR experience, a merch signing session by Nasty C and a live media interview.
Sneaker Lab had the connect with premium sneaker cleaning sessions.

The first ever Capsule Fest went down this past weekend in the cultural hub of Newtown and fam, it was a JUMP! The streets of JHB came alive when the coolest kids from all over the country streamed into Mary Fitzegerald Square to turn up in a space that was transformed into a cultural playground to celebrate the things that unite us all: culture, music and people. It was a space customised for urban culture, where SA’s cool kids collided with the dopest streetwear brands and artists, including headline acts Nasty C and international act A$AP Ferg.

Wanna know the best thing about Capsule? Everyone felt free to lose themselves in the world that we created for them. They felt free to go ALL OUT and hold nothing back. People expressed themselves and danced like the world was watching. Nasty C and A$AP Ferg had us singing and jumping along to every word. Furthermore, the sportscene Presents Capsule Fest stage alongside the CONVERSE Waves stage featured over 30 of SA’s hottest line-up of artists, including Champagne69, who blew us out of the water with their performance while AKA had the entire crowed enraptured with his music.
When it came to each brand activation, Nike hooked everyone up with free ink in their live tattoo studio and had the connect for fresh cuts with a barber on site. adidas Originals had an impressive photo-booth and VIP area while Sneaker Lab had us kicking back for professional sneaker cleaning sessions. CONVERSE had the sickest skate park where kids came to thrash it out.

Cut Throat hooked everyone up with customised Capsule gear and Reebok showed off the littiest sneaker silhouettes of all time. We brought the plug with our dopest merch available. On Saturday, 16 September, sportscene proudly presents Capsule Festival -- a one of a kind festival celebrating music with headline acts A$AP Ferg and Nasty C and over 30 of South Africa’s hottest artists and brands! Expect pop up stores with only the dopest streetwear, customisation booths, a CONVERSE skate park and plenty of food stalls to choose from.

Refunds And Cancellations
You may cancel any booking submitted to us for tickets that have not yet been issued to you at any time prior to the date of the event to which such booking pertains by sending a cancellation notice to [email protected] or calling our Customer Care Centre on +27 (0)11 340 8000 or 0861 915 8000. You may also cancel and return any issued tickets acquired from us at any time prior to the scheduled date of the event to which they apply by handing in your tickets at any of our Money Market kiosks. When you cancel your booking or return your tickets you must provide us with the relevant booking number. Following receipt of your booking cancellation or returned tickets, we will refund you the face value paid for the relevant tickets (or, if a discounted ticket, then instead the discounted ticket price paid), provided that reasonable cancellation charges as determined by the Event Organiser may be charged and deducted from such refund. Unless otherwise stipulated by the Event Organiser and depending on the prevailing circumstances the following cancellation charges may apply:
- If the cancellation occurs more than 30 days prior to the event a 15% cancellation fee will apply;
- If the cancellation occurs less than 30 but more than 7 days prior to the event a 50% cancellation fee will apply;
- If the cancellation occurs less than 7 days prior to the event a 100% cancellation fee will apply;
- Notwithstanding the aforesaid, if you can provide us with suitable documentary proof that a person in whose name a ticket was booked will not be able to attend the event because of his/her death and/or hospitalisation, no cancellation fee will apply in respect of the cancellation of such person`s ticket.
