After years of experimentation and thousands of exposures, my stereo light painting experiments are concluded. Here's a flat video slideshow of my final results for you to enjoy. A 3-D version (as a side-by-side, half-width, left-on-left video) is also in my YouTube channel.
My SpriteBrush light paintings were exhibited as freeview prints at 3D-Con 2017, in a digital slideshow on a vibrant 3-D HDTV for the Oakland Camera Club, and as an article in Stereoscopy magazine.
More than one light painter remarked on my phenomenal results, provided they weren’t actually computer generated. It’s true that a simple software algorithm could generate similar (or even better) graphics. But an algorithm wouldn’t tell the same story. What started as a high-tech challenge to learn a new software language resulted in these beautiful artworks that celebrate traditional stereo photography. I’m gratified to share the outcome of my invention.
Farewell (for now) to stereo light painting. And farewell to Tumblr! I get it. It's like a social network where one showed up. What a shame! Its interface is quite pleasant.
