Interview with: Saint Brix
Me: Alright so when and why you started rapping?
Saint Brix: We'll I started rapping when I was 16, and the reason I started because I was basically was raised in to the music side of Things starting with drums, for my neighbor's church to playing in my middle school and high school band. I really didn't start writing songs till I was about sixteen and even then I was writing songs for under ground artists at that time so it was nothing really serious until I hit the recording studio. And this local producer. I remember him telling me. Mann you got uh put that down on wax. Next thing I know I was in the studio every weekend dropping tracks. It was almost like I was rushed in it so fast that I couldn't say no to it. And the love I have toward an crowd when I'm performing it's like the most craziest excitement, I was felt a lot of times in life I was"nt being listen to so I always felt like I had to make my self be heard by people. And some when I started to write about it and jump on an record. I notice the attention I was getting. And u notice how many people would listen and that's when I said..yo I got get this out to the world. I want billions to here.lol yo know.
Me: Wow. Interesting though anyways who are some of your favorite rappers and have any of them inspire you?
Saint Brix: Me personally I really don't have any favorite rappers but if I had to pick one I would say young jeezy. The reason why . Is because he knows how to keep an level head on his shoulders at the same time recording an album or mixtape. To me . Being able to work in da studio, work on stage and online and keeping up with all the responses and all of the fans. And still able to record at the end of the day. That takes a lot out of person. And that person would have to have an level head for biz part of the music industry.
Me: Anyways interesting. So what are your songs about?
Saint Brix: Most of my songs are about everyday life situations. And also about my self as an person. Who I am who the people will soon get to know.
Me: Oh alright sweet. So have you released any albums/mixtapes yet? If not, are you working on one?
Saint Brix: Right not I'm currently working on Mixtape as we speak. Called Project 3D. And hopefully I get it release in January. If not I know for an fact it will be February.
But not really so much as in albums or mixtapes but a lot of singles through web.
Me: Oh ok cool. Where your from, do you have many fans?
Saint Brix: I'm Salisbury,North Carolina 35 min away from Charlotte ,NC. An far as fans I have a lot but still would'nt be able to keep count it's like everyday somebody new to the lists To know.
Me: Oh yea true. Well lastly could you tell me about your pass life?
Saint Brix: Like any other typical hood.Except mine was more like find your own path and don't get caught type of life. Most of my growing up was more like being introduced to the street gangs, drugs, money basically. There was an point were you make it or break it. Either change ya life for the better or change life for the worse. Either way you still had to survive.
Me: Thats so true. My life right there. Haha well thanks for this interview! Its been a good one.
