Interview with: Beezy 3D
Me: First off, when and why you started rapping?
Beezy 3D: I started rapping at the of 14 (when I started recording) but I've always known that I could rap since I was about 9 or 10. I started writing music in '98 or '99. I started writing music because music started to shift in a way that music was no longer cherished and artists no longer put their heart and soul into music like my biggest influence, Tupac Shakur, would have. I basically started recording to revisit the eras of hip hop that I appreciate.
Me: Ahh thats cool. So is there any other rappers you like that have inspired you other than Tupac?
Beezy 3D: Absolutely, I often draw inspiration from other seasoned veterans such as Jay Z, Beanie Siegel, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, 50 cent, Nas, Eminem, Big L, Notorious BIG, Three 6 Mafia, Bun B and Cam'ron and new faces such as Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, Big Sean, Big Krit, and Rapsody. If we are talking about Music overall, I like Jazz, Dubstep, and Progressive Music.
Me: Haha wow, well they all wrote great music. Anyways what are your songs about?
Beezy 3D: I write about moments that I've lived as well the struggle that I've witnessed from an adolescent up to present day. I take pride in writing real, tangible music that my demographic can relate and familiarize with. But don't get me wrong, I like to have fun with music too, I show that in songs such as "On fire", "Hold Up (Make Me Blow)" and other song, I mean people do still love to be entertained too.
Me: Nice, goes with kinda every lifestyle. So have you released any mixtapes/albums yet? If not, are you working on one now?
Beezy 3D: Well, yes I have. Ive released about 5 mixtapes over the years, But as of now, only one is online. Beezy 3D - The Warriors (Datpiff), I removed the other Mixtapes from the internet after I changed my stage name to Beezy 3D from Young B. I have been considering re-releasing them, just for the people the ppl who remember. Especially my Mixtape Real Rap 4 Dummies 1, it was my biggest project to date, catching the attention of 30,000+ people, as well as a few labels. By the way, I've been working on my sequel to RR4D, which is Real Rap 4 Dummies 2. I've put more into this project than any other, ever.
Me: Wow. Thats really neat! So im guessing you have a lot of fans where you from, right?
Beezy 3D: Well, I have a pretty modest following, but, I also have much more support from many other places. All over the world. I'm not exactly sure how people tend to find me, or why it always works, but they have my eternal gratitude. Because, at the end of the day, all we want is to be heard, respected, and appreciated. The money isn't really important, it's the love that got me started and the love that keeps me going.
Me: Nice and yea true. So lastly could you tell me about your pass life?
Beezy 3D: Well, I've been working full time at an auto part supplier, while working on my passion on my spare time, which is hip hop. I came from a hard life, lost my parents at an early age and still found a way to make it out the hood, I was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio (The Midwest) and am a current resident of the city. Hip Hop is the culture that sparked my creativity and gave me an outlet. Helping me remove myself from the street, Hip hop has saved my life, time and time again. Who knows where I'd be without it.
