The Phantom of the Opera 2004, dir. Joel Schumacher
As Christine goes down into the lair, Joel wanted her look to become more magical and mysterious, which meant more shine to the fabric, more sheer and exotic.

I must sleep. Sleep is the mind-healer. Sleep is the big-life that brings total ability to fucking do anything. I will face my bed. I will permit the blankie to pass over me and snores to pass through me. And when sleep has gone past I will turn the outer eye to greet the new morning. When the sleep has gone there will be everything. Energy and will to live will remain.

From the Neil Gaiman: Dream Dangerously :) (you can watch here in US or with US vpn :) <3)
Terry Pratchett: Neil once said, 'Your fans all look jolly. And my fans all look as if they're about to commit suicide. Wouldn't it be nice if we could get them to marry?'
do you ever think about the fact that since She Who Must Not Be Named said that james and lily’s male & female deer patronus indicated that they were soulmates, this means that, canonically, snape and harry are soulmates
Based on this post. Gotta love the godfather.
I’ve spent some time wondering at Dumbeldore’s rational for hiring Gilderoy Lockhart and I’ve reached the following conclusion.
When Dumbledore met Lockhart, all he thought was “Oh, this is going to be hilarious.”
I always got the vibe that Dumbledore was like, “there is no possible way for this man to be a Death Eater,” and hired him on the spot.
#WHAT IF DUMBLEDORE THOUGHT HE WAS REALLY HOT#WHAT IF HE WAS SWOONING OVER LOCKHART JUST LIKE MRS WEASLEY AND HERMIONE AND MOST OF THE FEMALE MAGICAL POPULATION OMG (via suchjoyambitionfinds
i have a bag with a quote from you on the side from my local small book store and i thought you'd enjoy that a security guard stopped me and asked to see my bag and i panicked but he just loves your work and wanted to see the quote - thanks neil for being the provider of my heart attack
You are so welcome! And that’s so sweet, if heart stopping.
Merry Christmas, I hope you’re well, especially the little one.
I write some and am trying to write more but an issue I run into is that I keep writing like other authors. I steal their voice and lexical quirks and then instead of sounding like me (whatever I sound like) it reads like a significantly less good, less clever, less practiced version of them. I don’t do it deliberately but I’m not quite sure how to avoid it.
How did you find your own voice and do you have any tips or tricks to avoid unintentional mimicry?
Intentional mimicry is a way of learning how to sound like other people. Mainly though don't worry. Write enough and you can't help sounding like yourself.
not mine but hilarious
OH YES
