Zonlai Optics.. Test Images!

i’ve been shooting this Zonlai lens about 2 weeks now.. its literally the only lens on my camera! shooting this manual lens has been a great experience so far, its a much more calculated effort compared to AF lens, much more rewarding. It’s getting me one step closer to a real goal. I really like that.

Buying this lens helped me out a ton, i’m getting a good understanding of what it takes to work a fully manual lens. The Zonlai 25mm f/1.8  cina-lens or step less (click less) decently built glass.. doesn’t have best optics nor is it the sharpest lens, its actually just less than mediocre glass, its soft wide open has horrible corners and vignettes at most apertures, but i find a ton of character in those imperfections it has a handsome uniqueness. its more the experience and practice manual focusing is where i find the value. its actually quite a treat! im not upset with the results im getting, I didn’t expect anything really stunning or superior optics. I simply found a little manual lens i didn’t need to spend too much on that didn’t need a lens adaptor. In this case you get almost exactly what you pay for..

Zonlai Discover 25mm f/1.8 found this interesting and inexpensive lens on ebay, couldn’t find much about it online. people aren’t too aware of it, i’ve seen some decent sample images on forums and flickr. I like the “idea” of shooting street photography on a film rangefinder.. i haven’t took the leap of a faith and invested into a rangefinder film camera.. but im hoping this will give me good practice with manual lens. very curious how this will turn out, i’ll post test and sample images later
