       the inhuman girl saw scout attempting to eat the rest of the cookie and promptly reached out to gently take her hand, removing the ruined treat.

      ❝ i could not do that, ❞ evan hummed, sliding the cookies back toward herself. she pressed a thumb into them, seeing them break apart, and sighed. there was no salvaging, she couldn’t go back and put the rest of the sugar back in. ❝ i will just have to bake a new batch. that is okay! i like baking. i just need to be more careful next time. ❞ a soft smile toward scout, ❝ thank you so much for helping. i would hate to give out these cookies and just ruin someone’s day. ❞

Scout felt a slight blush cross her cheeks when the other girl took her hand briefly, “If you need an assistant to help you bake, I can try anyway.” She grinned, “What’s the worst that could happen? You forget the sugar again?” Scout teased the other girl lightly.

       evangelina boltagon prided herself in one thing, and one thing only — her ability to cook. it seemed to be a gift for which she picked up easily, and thoroughly enjoyed creating home-cooked meals and treats for just about anyone she could share with. but this? this was unacceptable. at the blonde’s words, evan’s brows knitted together in confusion, and she whipped around for the recipe in her book.

Scout tried to give a reassuring smile as she choked down the rest of the cookie. It was a little too crumbly and grainy but maybe it could be salvaged? “What if you like....” She trails off trying to think of anything to help improve them, “Since they crumble pretty easily, they would make a killer ice cream topping. Like put those on top of chocolate ice cream and I think it could be magic.” She grins, “Then just make another batch and I happily volunteer to be your official taste tester.”

Sid laughed, before she mocked offense. “Why do you think I’ve stirred up trouble?” She raised an eyebrow. “My M.O. is more flirting than causing trouble.” Not that she had done much flirting with anyone other than Huihana. Did it count as flirting if they were practically dating? “I was with Huihana.”

“Have you met yourself?” She can’t help but smirk, but it quickly turned into a smile, excited to hear about the not quite couple. “Oh? Any fun new developments there?” Scout had done pretty much nothing, much to her own dismay during the event, so living vicariously through her friends is what she decided to settle on.

Scout shrugs, “I mean would it make things any better if I said it wasn’t porn but rather trying to download some of those stupid shaped cursor things?” She was goofing around trying to make her cursor blink rainbow, and instead ended up screwing her computer over, figures.

The quickest way to get Piper to do anything, sober or otherwise, was to tell her she couldn’t. Especially when she wasn’t entirely sober. Reckon you can’t scull that whole thing. As she finished downing the drink, Piper wiped a couple drops from her cheek, eyeing the person off as she walked away.

It wasn’t her smartest idea in any stretch. She hadn’t exactly had a whole lot of alcohol in her nineteen years (despite her fake I.D. claiming she was 21), not enough to build a good tolerance to it, and her drink had been quite strong. It also hadn’t been her first. But she wasn’t about to admit it. 

Instead, she refilled her cup and sat down abruptly, not noticing who she sat next to.

Scout hadn’t meant to end up at the party but she wasn’t too upset about it. She needed to cut loose and enjoy some of her weekend, seeing as how her Friday and Saturday had been taken up by studying for her coming exams and catching up on sleep. 

She had heard about the party and figured what the hell, why not stay. She had had a drink or two and was feeling a slight buzz before heading back to sit down and do some people watching, drunk people, especially drunk super people could lead to some interesting place. Normally she isn’t a wallflower but after the blackout and being stuck with so many people it was easier for her to sit back and sip her drink. When she saw the younger girl heading her way she moved over to make room on the couch then quickly leaned out of the way to avoid splashing from her cup. 

“Nice crash landing, Girl Scout. Everything all good?” Scout took a sip of her drink.

After she left Huihana (a bit unwillingly, she may add, but it was a necessary evil, because she had other people to check in on.), Sid went on to look for Scout. Catching sight of her in the halls, she breathed a sigh of relief. “I’m glad you’re safe, babe. You only get so many friends as great as you.”

Scout couldn’t help but smile in relief when she saw Sid, “Awe shucks,S quid, I’m touched. What trouble did you stir up during this mess?” She knew the other girl probably went off in search of some specific people, but she wanted to know all the deails.

Ben shrugged. “I honestly have no idea. It’s definitely not random; a big fancy school like this is gonna have backups of their backups in case of blackouts. The thing I’m most worried about is an attack. With everyone cooped up like this, we’re practically sitting ducks.”

“That’s what I’ve been saying but it doesn’t seem like any of the adults in charge want to do anything about it.” Scout was almost thankful she wasn’t resposible for keeping everyone calm, maybe this way she could actually do some investigating and figure out what the hell was going on. “Do you have any ideas for where the breaker box could be? Maybe tripping one or two could help shed some light on what we’re dealing with.”
