really didn't think i was going to ever have to make another one of these posts, but uh. a lot of shit has happened and we're not going to be able to afford rent this month despite having a new roommate for the summer to try to balance out the cost. could really really use some help with rent and happy to make candles, art, etc. for anyone interested in commissioning me. explanation below the cut, please boost and donate if you feel so inclined and have the means to do so. no pressure.
my partner and i decided to split rent with an old friend subletting from us for the summer, but they're still looking for work and haven't been able to pay us their full portion of the rent cost for last month and now this month too (+ other expenses that i covered). i was out of work for a while because of my top surgery and when i was able to return to work the college i worked at did not have the funds to keep a student employee over the summer, so i was only able to get a few days of work in for that pay period before the job ended. while i work two other jobs, both are low in hourly wage and somewhat low in hours due to me taking summer classes to finish my degree. my partner is also taking summer classes and they work at a school, but the break in between regular and summer sessions of their school has meant that a sizeable portion of hours they should have been able to work are now gone. my partner and i are both disabled & chronically ill trans people dealing with ever-worsening symptoms that make functioning harder and harder every day. in addition to rent costs i have some ongoing medical costs that are crucial to maintaining my ability to work and figuring out what's wrong with my body. i also need to pay off my credit card bill that is mostly groceries and medical expenses from my post-op recovery. i'm looking for a full-time medical receptionist job and similar jobs at the moment, but i'm having little luck. if anyone wants to commission me, i am offering hand poured candles, art, poetry, tarot readings, and so on. please be aware that my turnaround times are quite slow due to navigating this stressful situation on top of everything else in my life rn. thank you so much for reading and please, please boost this.
