#NowPlaying Merry Xmas (Says Your Text Message) by Dragonette
Somehow, Steve Anderson keeps improving upon perfection with each Kylie tour.
Madeline Juno’s “Stupid Girl” is as fresh and perfect as pop music gets.
Who would’ve thought that “Desire” by Years & Years had any room for improvement? The addition of Tove Lo proves otherwise.
Dua Lipa – “The One” – reminiscent of HAIM in all the right ways.
Kelly Clarkson brings everyone, including herself, to tears with a sublime rendition of “Piece By Piece”
The Pet Shop Boys have a new album coming out soon, and its second single “The Pop Kids” is absolutely brilliant.
Thrillers : “Can’t Get Enough” – this track oozes 80s sex appeal through and through
”Clichés” : Astonishing handmade video by Hiérophante
Simon Curtis revisits his entire 8-bit Heart album, providing new production and arrangements for each track. The updates work well on most, and even on those that don’t quite work (like “Beat Drop”), the changes and tweaks at least make for interesting listens.
“8-bit Heart” is one of the best reworkings, amping up the longing and yearning while retaining the song’s, well, heart.
Now this is a lovely cover version. Joachim Pastor featuring Mischa: “Fever”
I kind of hate that I like Pitbull’s new song. The production is just so damn good.
Birdy – “Keeping Your Head Up” : A great uplifting pop track. Pairs nicely with Florence + the Machine and Marina & the Diamonds.
Billy Joel – “Pressure” : One of those great songs where the production is the equal of the songwriting
KOLAJ – “The Touch” – a slice of summery pop for the cold winter days
Leave it to Carly Rae Jepsen to reinvigorate a 30-year-old Wham! Christmas tune. Merry Christmas!
Matoma featuring Nico & Vinz – “Love You Right” – this hits all the right notes
