He stepped out of the portal to a, for him, unknown dimension. He was supossed to meet with other Ricks for some kind of party mostly to mock another one, he didn’t want to go but when he was invited he was drunk and accepted without knowing it, however, he forgot the dimension where it was and ended up where he was now. “ Oh, s-shit, is this the right place? ”
@assassinsummer
Someone popped a piece of bubblegum a few yards to his right, and he saw a redheaded woman wearing all black pointing a blaster pistol over her shoulder at him while she continued working on some equipment with her free hand. She had taken a contract to pop some jackass that was supposed to be at a party about a half-mile away, and she was assembling her sniper equipment on top of a cliff when his portal came through.
“Are you P-487?” she asked calmly.
He froze when he saw the gun, he gulped. He didn’t answer quickly, instead he tried to get out of his confusion by staring carefully at her, but this didn’t work since he didn’t recognize her. Half a minute later he reacted.
“ I-I-I’m not him! I’m not him! ” He shouted hoping not to be shot “ I’m B-151! ” He never were very brave and that wasn’t gonna change then.
Summer narrowed her eyes at him, calculating, suspicious, but she’d learned to know a lie when she heard one. There was the small hiss of the blaster being powered down. “B-151, huh?” she muttered, fishing through her jacket. “I’d take you in a highball, shaken with some Kahlua and some Irish cream.” The woman popped her gum again, then suddenly turned around, casually aiming at him with a different, smaller kind of pistol. She pulled the trigger and a needle with a powerful nerve agent shot into his ankle. It would paralyze him, but leave his voice in tact.
“Sorry, Kahlua. You’re hanging out with me until I finish this up.”
He nodded violently in panic as she asked. The sound of the gun was a big relief. No wonder he reacted with confusion as she spoke, he didn’t understand mostly because of the distress of the situacion.
“ Wh-what- ” He saw the gun and took his time to realize what was happening, and when he did he was already on the ground, motionless. “ What did- what did you do!? Finish wh-what up? and w-w-w-who are you? ”
She walked over to him and took his portal gun, powering it down and removing the battery. Summer lifted him by his limp arms and dragged him to a rock, leaning him against it so he would at least be out of the dirt. She crouched in front of him and smiled. “Summer Sanchez. C-137. I’m here… well…” She tries to find the right word. “…I’m here on business.”
She turns around and leaves him there, a long red braid swinging from her head. “I just can’t have you running down there to your buds at the party telling them I’m here, Kahlua.”
He calmed down a bit, at least he wasn’t hurt or dead, and that made him realize that she wasn’t gonna kill him, at least not yet. He couldn’t care less about being in the ground since he barely could feel or move his body.
“ C-137? a-are all people there like this? ” He recognize it, that was the Summer of the most problematic Rick he has ever know. “ Do you have to like, k-kill someone? a-are you here to kill P-487? ” He wasn’t surprised, most of Ricks were rude, no wonder someone would want some of them dead.
“Nah. Just me and Grandpa,” she said, testing the scope on her laser-cut rifle. The last word was spat from her mouth with a little bit of venom.
“I’m an assassin, yes, and P-487 is my target. I don’t normally take contracts from the Citadel but… sometimes I make special exceptions.”
The party is going on in the open air in a valley of sorts below them. “I’m doing you a favor, by the way. I don’t know if you’re very well acquainted with the garbage down there, but they’re about to have bad hangovers tomorrow morning.” She starts loading a few attachments to the gun.
That tone in her voice made him gulp. He tried not to ask, since it wasn’t his actual problem if he wasn’t the target, but his curiosity was more powerful than him. “ What d-did he do? ”
He suspected the party wasn’t anything good, well, this wasn’t the best situation neither, but way better that looking at other Rick get his head blown off, or worse, getting shot too.“ A-Are you going to kill all of them? ”
Summer lifted the scope against her eye and searched the party for her target. There were too many Ricks there, wearing similar clothing. She had memorized the photograph of the Rick she was supposed to kill, but it was nearly impossible to pick him out of the crowd than she saw through the scope. “He’s a Morty abuser,” she said, plainly, pivoting the gun from side to side to look at the guests.
“You ever met P-487, Kahlua?” She drew back from her weapon and looked at him. Her eyes demonstrated that she would not tolerate any dishonesty.
He didn’t knew him that well, but he didn’t spect him to be an abuser, he had seen him with his Morty before and he didn’t looked suspicious or anything. He looked genuinely was surprised. Even if some Ricks didn’t show much affection for their Mortys it was surprising that one would abuse his.
“ Kind of, but I-I-I didn’t know he was t-that much of an asshole to d-do that. ” Without that eyes looking at him like that he probably would have avoid it with a simple no, but this was a bad situation to lie. “ f-for real ”
Summer nodded, her face perking up slightly. “Congrats. You just became useful. One sec.”
She left all of her equipment laying there, typed some coordinates into her portal gun, and disappeared. When she came back, she was wearing a skirt down to her mid-thigh, a nice purple top, heels, and a pair of dangling earrings. The portal snapped shut and she went into her backpack, finding a tube of tablets. “You’re going to introduce me to him,” she said, holding one of the tablets in front of his mouth. “Put this under your tongue. It’ll counter the nerve agent.”
“ W-what? ” He whispered confused, but she was already gone. He didn’t want to get involved directly in all of that, he knew it was a bad idea.
He looked at the tablet and did what he was told to, slowly starting to feel his body again. “ I-I don’t know how well that would go, I’m a bad actor, I-I don’t want to fuck it up, a-a-and they have guns too…” He moved his arms constantly, it felt nice to be able to feel them again. “ I-I’m just saying ”
Summer was digging around in her backpack as he chattered. She pulled out a little blaster pistol and fixed it to her thigh with a strap under the skirt, then looked behind her at the trembling Rick.
“Hey,” she said, gently. “I know you have no reason to trust me, but I’m not going to let anything happen to you. You’re the ticket to my paycheck after all.”
She helped him stand and brushed him off. “Besides… if you DON’T help me get the right Rick, I’ll have to kill everyone down there and hope I get the right one. And I don’t want to do that.”
He tried to say something else and keep explaining why all of this was a really bad idea and it wasn’t his problem, but she was right, he didn’t want all those Ricks to die, he couldn’t sleep at night anymore.
“ Alright, a-alright, I’ll do it. ” He sighed. Hopefully, it was gonna end bad for the Morty abuser and not him. “ I’ll try to do it, j-just because I don’t want him to hurt Mortys.”
