i'm debating on remaking this blog mainly because my tags are super broken and i think have a fresh start would help any issues i'm having being here

i have thoughts™ the main one being ( and i'm warning y'all now it's not positive )

while i don't think the character writing has never particularly be very strong ( tbf we only had one season and a lot of it was exposition ) , i do think , at least with season one , it was somewhat consistent for the episodes we had at the time .

this season i feel like a good majority of characters are all over the place , flip flopping on their ideals , attitude , even intelligence at times , etc. and with some characters there are moments that are bordering on straight up flanderization , especially with some of the hotel crew .

like it really just seems like a lot of the character writing this season is poorly done and inconsistent to a degree that it can't be overlooked ( at least not by me ) .

and while i do like this whole "holy war" angle i think there is something to say in i think where a lot of the weakness in character consistency is rooted in the way the plot is being advanced .

though i said it as a joke , i am very much debating on making his vee verse his default verse and just tweaking stuff here & there because it sparks joy more than whatever is going on in canon

it may not be the case but

this line / interaction in particular is only fueling my headcanon about alastor believing that vox used their friendship ( or more ) as a manipulation . that vox was offering that partnership as a means to hold some control over him , seeking out a vulnerability that alastor hadn't snuffed out in time .

like alastor could himself be lying here but just know i'm being delulu rn

the two songs being named "vox populi" & then "vox dei" has me chewing through drywall . like as in "vox populi vox dei" aka "the voice of the people is the voice of god" . also calling himself the furor aka the rage / fury . "i'm your omega . i'm your flood." another genesis mention this season . oh i'm so normal .

okay but off the bat , all the overlords basically celebrating / the comments being made about alastor being "defeated" just furthers my theory that he is / has always been such an obvious threat and there most definitely have been other overlords who've tried to align themselves with him and become broadcast guests because of it
