SORRY AGAIN for not being around for the past several days. Anxiety kicked in really hard and won’t let my brain have fun here, and I have two weddings to attend, and things are a little hectic.

Sorry I haven’t been around these past couple days. The whole debilitating “curl up on the couch and suffer” anxiety reared its ugly head, and I haven’t been doing much of anything. :D;;
I’m going away for the weekend, but I’ll be back on Sunday and I’ll get to those replies!

If Vash was sweating at that point, it was from relief, not heat. The money comment and immediate retraction almost gave him whiplash.
“It gets kind of warm, especially if I don’t have enough to drink, but that’s natural. It actually resists heat and cold!” He lifted parts of the coat to show the detailed work on the suit underneath it. “Custom-made. And I look way better in this than walking around in shorts.”
“Well, it has happened many times before. Soooo….eehhh….”
“….No..?”
“And you keep fixing it without insurance to back you up? You must have a lot of money.”
Kashtara would wait until the portal was ready and then crossed it. It looked like this time she had ended up in a world with lots of deserts, which was kinda new for her. She would soon be too hot with her armor on, so she changed it for her civilian clothes with her magic and put on her mirror glasses to conceal her slitted eyes. Then, she started walking through the desert, not really knowing where she was going.
A glint of sunlight reflecting off Kashtara’s glasses caught Vash’s eye from several yards away, successfully grabbing his attention. Once he determined the source of the reflection, he headed towards her, satisfied that she wasn’t visibly holding any shiny weapons.
“Excuse me, I couldn’t help noticing that you don’t seem to be walking in the direction of anything local. Are you lost? You won’t get very far without supplies.“
“An easy target, eh? You are right in the sense that I should get supplies before doing anything. But tell me…” -she would take her glasses off, revealing her slitted eyes to him.- “Would it be safe for me to go into a city with these eyes?” It wouldn’t be the first time somebody tried to hunt her down because she was different.
“You must be from somewhere very far away. Cities around here have all sorts of people with interesting traits. You might attract a little attention, but it will mostly be from people who think you’re too beautiful to be hanging around their local market.”
“But if it makes you more comfortable,” he tapped the frames of his own glasses, “just keep them on to be safe.”
“EHhhhh…well….she came to the castle to offer us insurance.”
“Mmmm…then…I said NO because the money must be SAVED!”
”That’s very responsible. I’m sure she understands.”
“But aren’t you worried that something might damage your castle?”

“Um… if I’m completely honest, I was going to start walking without no direction.I like to explore.”-she said, scratching the back of her neck, a bit embarrassed.
“Exploring would be a great idea!” He tried to sound supportive. It was possible he might be dealing with a crazy person suffering from the heat.
“Except you’re on a desert planet, you don’t have supplies for a journey, and anyone could be out here looking for an easy target. Please don’t jeopardize your safety just to explore.”

A travelling cactus enthusiast, huh, For some reason that sounds unlikely, she thought with a raised eyebrow. Well, she would go with it for now. As long as he didn’t attack her, she didn’t mind how he wanted to be called, and in any case, he seemed to be a nice guy.
The second comment made her chuckle softly. “I’m Kashtara.”
“Kashtara! I knew it would be a pretty name.”
“So, Kashtara, is there something I can help you find? A direction in which I can point you?”
“Good. She means much to my family as well! MMMMM….”
“…What mask?”
“The mask on your--”
“-- !!!”
“... So how do you and Meryl know each other?”

Her weapon was concealed, but in any case, a dagger wouldn’t do much against guns. No, it was probable that she would rely on her magic if she had to fight. She would stop and look at him. “I guess you could say that…but I don’t have money to get those supplies”-she did have money, but since it was from her world, it was doubtful they would accept them, unless they accepted gold coins…and even if they did, it would bring too much attention, attention she didn’t want. “If I may ask, who are you?”
The odd situation set off a few red flags in his mind, but it didn’t seem like she meant him any immediate harm. This newcomer seemed less threatening and more off-track, but just in case--
“My name is John P. Smith, and I’m a traveling cactus enthusiast.” He could always reintroduce himself truthfully later.
“What about you? I bet you’ve got a beautiful name.”
