Lieutenant Gin is quite flirtatious.
"Damn. Been a long time since I heard that name."
Do you know an ancient vampire called Alucard?
"An ancient what? No idea." Says Nico.
"...That ENTIRELY depends on who's asking." Says the older Nick.

STARGAZE TRAILER IS OUT!!!
Okay, so I'm going to try and come back again, but I make no promises... just an update under the cut.
(It's kinda negative, just tldr; things aren't good, but my muse and interest haven't waned at all! Just my ability.)
"Just making sure~…" he said. Having the option there meant that it was least Wolfwood's decision when he found reason to give Vash an earful about it later— even if he was probably going to earn that earful—
"Suffice to say, we're willing to help you. Mostly, anyway~. So, what's our first step?"
"We go back an' fuck them up, what else?"
"Oh, just like that? No strategy, or sneak attack or nothin'?"
"Uh, duh, I didn't think that'd need to be SAID. I'm savin' time by skimmin' the obvious stuff, pal, keep up."
"....." Do not kill Blondie's new pity project, do NOT kill Blondie's new pity project...
Ah, th-that's— that is a little closer than he'd expected him to be, but whatever gets the ropes undone faster—!!
The names he offered both seem like… pretty different designations, all things considered, but Vash just nodded. 'Nines' seemed like some sort of call sign, while Colt sounded like an actual name. But Nines was what he'd said first, though, so—
"Well, it's nice to meet you, Nines. I'm sorry it's not under better circumstances…" the blond said with a sheepish sort of laugh as the ropes pooled at his feet. "You obviously know who I am, and that's Wolfwood… whose name I already said, and who I'm giving an out, if he really doesn't feel up to joining this crusade."
"Wolfwood, huh? I've jus' been callin' him 'the brute' in my head. Good to have a name to go with it."
"Listen here, you little shit!" Wolfwood huffed, and raised an eyebrow at Vash's hint. "Yeah, no way am I lettin' you go off on your own with some stranger, Blondie. You're way too nice for your own good."
So there was merit to what this guy was saying… well, he appreciated the honesty, even if the answer made his expression skew a little more serious… and somewhat apologetic before he turned his head back to their new pal, knowing that Wolfwood wouldn't like what he was about to say.
"Then maybe it's something worth looking into, if no one else is planning on doing anything about it… what's your name?"
As he spoke, Vash approached the other outlaw, scanning along the ropes for where the knots had been secured around him. Might as well untie him—
"Aww, ain't you a nice guy~?" The stranger teased, leaning against Vash only to get yanked back by a rather irate undertaker.
"Ugh... You're impossible." Wolfwood shook his head, but didn't stop Vash from untying the man. It was a fight he wasn't going to win at this point.
"Thanks." The knots were tight, thanks to raw strength, but of course Vash was stronger than the one that tied them. "You can call me Nines."
"Like the number?" Wolfwood raised an eyebrow.
"Or Colt." Nines shrugged.
"What the- Spikey, you serious?!"
"Usually, that's the case, but the best way to get rid of problems with an outlaw's to get a BIGGER outlaw..." He sighed. "Look, yanno about the local gang issues 'round here? There's a pretty bad one that's been extortin' people, an' if ya can't pay their money they either kill ya or decide to 'enlist' ya into their numbers where you get used as a scapegoat or cannon fodder. I got unlucky, an' they've been doin' the same to me, makin' me do all kinda shit if I can't pay 'em."
"I wasn't gonna ask for free, you can take all their shit too, but who else am I supposed to go to, the police?!
H-hey, they could at least hear the guy out…! There wasn't anything wrong with asking and making a fair assessment based on his answer! A choice that proved to be fairly eye-opening, in a manner of sorts— this was the first time Vash had heard about any gang activity like that.
At least… recently. He remembered things like that happening before; stuff like that usually got the attention of the military police pretty quickly, though. Word would spread, and those gangs would scatter and shift their focus, or end up dissolving entirely. Maybe it was cycling back in proper, now that they were all thoroughly distracted…
Probably not the time to be thinking about that.
"I guess not, if you've got your own bounty," he concluded, then looked to Wolfwood with a look that was both curious and pensive, and clearly wanting a second opinion. "Have you heard about any of this…? I might be a bit out of the loop, but if he isn't making this up…"
Then what other choice did they have?
Wolfwood groaned and grumbled at the question, but was hesitating. He knew where this was going.
"....Fuck. Yeah. I... Might of heard some rumors in passing." He sighed, reluctant to tell the truth here.
That was a little out of the ordinary… and while Vash and his bleeding heart were absolutely helpless against a sob story of any kind, he was more inclined to keep what Wolfwood had said in mind. As much as he wanted to blindly agree to give this person his aid…
"Most people wouldn't really look to a wanted criminal for a helping hand…" he said with a bit of a defeated sigh, reaching up and scratching the back of his head. His reputation wasn't exactly great, and was even worse nowadays; he wasn't sure there were any people left that would be openly kind to him if recognized him, or he gave them his name after lending a hand.
… buuut…
Vash let his hand drop to his side, putting both on his hips, "but that might mean things could be pretty dire for them if they were. What sort of help did you need?"
"I wasn't gonna ask for free, you can take all their shit too, but who else am I supposed to go to, the police?!
Pointedly, he ignored Wolfwood's comment about the bounty— or at least, wouldn't grace it with a response, because the stranger was right: it was kind of hypocritical to turn someone in when he had a bounty on his head, as well. The Plant just threw the undertaker a look of disapproval before refocusing on their, ah… new pal.
Be at least a little cautious.
"I mean, that depends… was there actually a misunderstanding?" Vash asked, eyeing both of them for answers to this particular question. Seemed like he was missing some pretty crucial details, still…
"What's there to misunderstand? Bastard was pokin' his nose around lookin' for the Humanoid Typhoon. Recognized him from one of the local wanted posters. Arson or some such." And if it both got rid of a potential future problem for Vash, and got them some extra cash on the side, he didn't see the problem here.
"Well- yeah, but it wasn't for the bounty! I needed help!!" The stranger gave Vash an imploring look, ignoring Wolfwood's scoff.
Well, alright, ask and you shall receive, he guesses—!
"A slippery—?! Wolfwood, you can't just— this is— how long have you been dragging another person around like this?!" the blond blustered, completely incapable of settling on just one of the problems with this situation. Quickly, though, his attention would shift to said person, offering an apologetic look with his hands up.
"I'm so sorry about him— are you alright?"
"Eh, like... eight hours, give or take. Lil fucker wasn't too far." Wolfwood rolled his eyes at Vash's fretting. "Don't fall for his shit, the guy's got a bounty an' we need some cash. He was sniffin' around anyways."
"Seems kinda hypocritical, here." He looked to Vash, giving him the best sad eye(s) he could. "You know this guy? Then can ya tell him this is all a big misunderstanding??"
