 Stargate is so weird, there are all these HUGE EMOTIONALLY FRAUGHT moments, like this one, as far as Sam knew Jack was still frozen in Antarctica, where he had been for weeks if not months, and when Jack was unfrozen they had to tell him Sam was missing,kidnapped by Replicators and on a ship that was destroyed, so she was presumed dead as well, they knew she was alive at this point, but it must’ve been such a roller coaster of emotions, and when they see each other for the first time in ages after presuming each other dead or lost, they’re just all ‘hey good to see you’ and ‘likewise’, yet Jack’s hand somehow winds up on Sam’s thigh, in a spot that I have NEVER ONCE casually touched a friend’s thigh, and does Sam react to that hand the way I probably would if even a close male friend touched me there?, by jumping involuntarily or backing up a little or saying ‘uh excuse me’?, SHE DOES NOT she just keeps gazing at him and smiling, ugh I cannot with this scene (via bethanyactually)

I think the reason was that one couldn’t have two Enterprises in service at the same time.

NASA’s Space Shuttle Enterprise was constructed and named in the early 1970s, at the same time the US Navy nuclear aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN-65) was active (1962-2012). Though the shuttle never actually went into space. Which is sad. :-\
