[ Guess nowâs not a good time to say heâs buddy-buddy with Grimm, huh? ]
IM ON VACATION RN BUT THAT RWBY3 FINALE shuffles nervously... will salem go on a date with m
( Ao. )
{âź} â; He merely chuckles softly as the other stumbles out their intent. "No, no, youâre right. Titus is indeed very mean-spirited, to say the least. Heâs definitely difficult.â he sighs. Difficult was putting it lightly. As stubborn as an ox and obnoxious as a foal was how he would put it. âIsâŚbeing polite, not the proper way of handling something?â
{âź} â;âUwahââ heâs taken aback by the sudden prod to the chest and lukewarm glare. âBut-but uh, v-violence is never the answer! I-I get arguing and fighting in a verbal sense itâs all umhâdebate! Thatâs what it is. Haha, I-if we just calmly discuss it then theyâll understand, thereâs no worries. Donât mind, donât mind!â you can tell instantly that Ao hates sudden confrontations or real outbursts like this. No time to counter argue.
{âź} â; âB-bitchfest?! Thatâs a bad word! Who taught you thatâwas it Titus? Iâm gonna have to have a word with himâŚâ heâs trying to lighten the situation, but to no avail as the shorter person before him just keeps going on their tangent. âTh-thatâs not it! I-I just donât think itâs a good idea to fight since weâre a team and-and I donât like fighting, I donât think it helps me!â even now he somewhat wishes that Shouta would stop.
{âź} â; Ao so desperately wants to argue with Shouta, to prove that he has a reason for being the way he is. When Ao sees the disdainful expression on his friends face he immediately freezes up however; a cold spot running down his spine. He clutches one arm with the other, biting down on his lip, afraid that he spoke out of turn too much already. Shouta was right after all. He was no better than Titus if he conceived the idea that animals were lesser than he.
{âź} â; He shakes in the silence, acting in accordance only to how the situation would present itself. Ao feels that he must from hereon out speak his words as if he was treading on thin ice, and that one wrong action would pull him down into another icy and sharp rant from Shoutaâs mouth. He stops biting down on his lip, merely moving his jaw muscle in some kind of attempt to find words. Did Ao dare answer that redundant question? To confirm that he, indeed, did not have wings.
{âź} â; ââŚitâs hard not to remember.â he merely mumbles, his voice stiff from the silence. âWhen I see all of you, itâs a constant reminder, however; I-I think it was me and you wasnât it? Lalia and Titus ended up together I thinkâŚâ he wondered what Shouta had meant by âthis,â was it the disorganization within the group? The rocky and dysfunctional way they interacted? He wonders if he should assure the other somehow that the group will be fine in the end like it usually is, yet only finds that he is able to just answer the questions without anything else.
{âź} â; ââŚ.you know, theyâre not just dying, right?â he breathes heavily. âThose stars, sure theyâre millions of lights may already be gone, however; there were probably planets just like ours near many of them. Those stars provided light, energy, in essence; life. They kept something together, and influenced an alignment of things without even knowing.â he shrugs his shoulder, allowing his arms to open a little. âI think thatâs what defines you as a star, being able to shine, and to keep things alive together, being important solely because youâre here.â or something like that.
âNot everything can be solved by talking politely. Thatâs something only a fool would believe in, someone whoâs blissfully unaware of how the world works. And the world will never be that pleasant or that simple.â [ Shouta waves his hands dismissively. ]Â âAs to where I learned that word, Iâll have you remember, Captain, I am older than you. Despite how I look and act, Iâm still an adult. Belittling me to the age of a child... how cruel.â
[ Feeling rather exhausted at this point (and it was well known Shouta got exhausted quickly -- despite how bubbly he may be) Shouta collapses onto the ground with a heavy sigh, sitting with his legs all curled in and about like a pretzel. ]Â âFor someone who wants to change the world, you shut down pretty fast. If you canât handle me, a friend, talking to you like this, how can you handle anyone at all?â
â... Well, itâs something you can work on with time, at least.â [ Shouta adds after a moment, shrugging his shoulders. Maybe Ao would grow a backbone with time. ] âHm. I donât recall it at all. I guess it was a boring memory if I forgot it. We must have had an easy time.â
â... Idealistic as always, huh, Captain? That still doesnât change the fact theyâre dying. You can find all sorts of ways to make depressing things âbeautifulâ but does it change the fact it hurts? No. Itâs a way of coping... no, more like running away from the truth. Stars shine in death, and they light the way for others with their last breath. Theyâre beautiful to the human eye because humans have no concept of understanding them, they just take that light for granted. Although, stars are pretty stupid too, sacrificing themselves for people who donât know or care.â
[ He clicks his tongue in annoyance, rolling his eyes at Aoâs speech. Is this how he really planned to make people listen? Too much sugarcoated words, pushing and pushing some kind of daydreamy perfection. Thatâd never work. ] âYou ever think the stars donât want to shine? That they donât want to do all the work of keeping everyone together? Being important solely because Iâm here? Donât make me laugh, Captain.â [ The rest of you should make an effort too, not just leave it all to me. ]
âHumans, Faunus, animals, Grimm -- it doesnât matter what you are. In the end, weâre all selfish and want what only we want, never thinking of anyone else. The world canât ever be sweetly wrapped up in a sparkling dust fairytale bow, safe and secure in itâs place. I know it.â [ A short pause, leaving Shouta to quickly roll his next thought over in his head. Did he want to say this outloud? He decides that, yes, he does. And his eyes slowly narrow, a pale hand grasping nervously at strands of black hair, twirling and combing to soothe himself. ]
âDonât you ever think youâre taking my happy attitude for granted? Look at you right now even. You donât know how to handle me, let alone yourself. Itâs hard to respect a Captain like that.â
( Ao. )
{âź} â; Ao merely offers his most optimistic look when the older teammate addresses him and his balancing issues. He merely liked to tease the other, knowing that their childish nature would lead them to either outburst foolishly, or entertain him greatly. Usually it was a mixture of both, and it brought relief to Ao, as his other teammates are too stuffy or argumentative to get any sort of relaxation out of. Titus especially, although at times Lalia had proven herself to be difficult.
{âź} â; âOoh, such brutal and truthful words towards Titus, calling him an ass and such. Itâs no wonder that he bullies you so much.â the blunt nature of his friend was always an interesting trait to see come forth from their tiny frame. One would expect the pure innocence that came with this package to be kinder, nicerâŚalthough in its own way Ao supposed that being blunt was kind. It lead to no miscommunications and offered some sort of value within identifying a flaw people had. He chirps in soon enough again.
{âź} â; âViolence is an answer Iâd rather not resort to. After all, if a full scale war still leads to protests, a violent fight with Titus would only prove his point further that us faunus are no better than animals I suppose.â he scratches his head tenderly at the mention of the team fightingâmore like carryingâthat he had to do. A hazy scarlet hue radiated from his cheeks, he had taken the compliment with his bashful nature, unsure now of how to approach the conversation. He knew the other was right, but having it actually be acknowledged was something that felt very different to Ao, almost kind of wrong. He wouldnât be able to fight up close without the cover provided by his teammates after all.
{âź} â; âAhâendurance, yes, that is a good word that you could use to describe me.â he knew a big part of it was his nature as a faunus too. Being part animal gave you benefit of knowing how to naturally care for yourself in order to maintain a strong and healthy body. âIâm only able to endure so much with a good team behind me though. You are all like pillars, supporting me! Iâm sure I wouldnât be able to fight you if it ever came to it. Ahâalthough I suppose pillars would be trange supporting a gustâŚyouâre all like fans then? Providing a means for me to fly!â it was a real shame he didnât have any wings.
{âź} â; Heâs glad that the other gives up on the topic concerning himself and Titus. If it had continued his already hot cheeks would have been practically flaming. âYou know what would happen if one of us died right? A variety of things to our team name! Iâm sure Lalia would suggest calling the team like, SLT or something like that. Or Titus would find a replacement for me and call it TALS, claiming that itâs better now that a non-faunus was leading it.â he sounds a little bitter towards the end, however his voice becomes soft when he hears the dedication his teammate has.
{âź} â; âYou really are like a star blasting through the night arenât you? All that cheerfulnessâŚâ Ao thinks that Shouta should cherish it while he can. âI just wish Lalia or Titus had your kind of dedication.â and with that he extends his hand to ruffle Shoutaâs already messy and unkempt hair.
"H-Hey! I don't intend to be mean, I'm... I'm just saying what I think? How I feel? He really is mean, okay!?" [ After all, Shouta does think that the way Titus treats Ao is incredibly harsh and unfair. Understandable with his past, but he's their leader -- they have to respect him. And, Shouta thinks, at least Ao isn't like... some kind of bug! Ugh... Gross. ] "Titus is... difficult. But we all are. I mean, you think being polite is how to handle it all, don't you?"
[ Shouta steps forward, eyes narrowed in the most unterrifying glare as he pokes at Ao's chest. ] "What you just said? Stupid. Super duper dumb, Captain! We can't live in a world without violence. People are gonna fight and argue, we're all different and have our own thoughts and reasons! Even if some of those reasons are totally wrong. That's the weird thing about emotions, and people, no less. We choose to change, we can't force others to." [ He steps back and sighs, lacing the fingers of both his hands behind his neck, tilting his head back to gaze up at the sky. ]
"Titus? He's ignorant. And he has to get over his bitchfest himself, you know? But you're not helping yourself either, Captain. Standing there and letting him be aggressive, trying to simply "be nice" your whole way through it. Makes you a pushover, right? Or is it your way of feeling better about yourself, like youâre the better person because, deep down, youâre selfish and you want to look good?â
[ He snorts. ] âYou can't always be the good guy, you can't always avoid fights. Maybe what Titus needs is a good kick in the gut! Besides," [ A rare expression comes upon Shouta's usually smiling and innocent face -- a look of annoyance, discomfort, perhaps even disgust. ] "don't talk about animals like they're less than you. Treating anything like it's below you on the chain of life, especially something that's a part of you... Aren't you just the same as Titus then?"
[ The Grimm, all of animals that surrounded the world -- they may not talk and work and move like humans do, but they had their own lives, emotions, and worlds within their own wild communities that made sense to them, made them happy. Shouldn't that be respected too? Humans thought they were the greatest thing to ever be created, deeming anything they didn't like "lessor." But who were they to deem another creation of the Gods "lessor"? Who were they to proclaim themselves "the best"? Animals were intelligent themselves, animals, too, survived this Earth. ]
"... Whatever." [ Shouta looks away, focusing on the trees in the distance. He could see them so vividly, unlike Ao right in front of him. He could see the leaves move, he even noticed the flicker of fur of squirrels running along on the trunk, among the leaves. He could see so far away, revel in it's beauty, yet once he came close? None of it made sense, it became blurs of colour almost as frightening as seeing monochrome.
Maybe that's why he dreamt away his days, and maybe that's why he couldn't do anything but laugh. Because, if he didn't, how would he "connect" with the shapes of people right before him he couldn't comprehend, couldn't form into solid ideas and living things to interact with? ]
"You don't have wings, right, Captain...? I can't "see" but you and the others give me sight, give me a reason to appreciate colour. So I guess we all make up for each other's weak points." [ Finally he smiles again. ] "I can't accept Lalia's suggestion! Me? A leader? No way. I can prove myself as tough, but some people just aren't suited to certain things. Maybe you're right about Titus, though. I bet he wanted to be the leader regardless of you being with us..."
[ He scrunches his nose up, furrowing his brows in an expression of utmost thought. ] "Um... Remember when we got thrown into that test by Ozpin in the beginning? How we even got stuck together? Do you remember who was with who back then? I wonder if we even worked together well as doubles trying to get those weird things the Headmaster sent us out to find... Have we always been like this?"
[ A laugh slips past now, but itâs a weaker sort than Shoutaâs usual. ] "You know, the light we see of stars? How we think they're so beautiful because they shine? ... They're dying. They're dying inside, and they can't take it anymore so they burst and light pours forth. And they're beautiful, they've come alive in a whole other way..."
"Am I really like that?"
( Ao. )
{âź} â; âIf I have to make up for what you lack, and you donât do words very well, then that means that I have to say complicated things doesnât it? Considering your lack of substance in that area must be made up with my expertise with words.â his teammate was really digging a deeper whole for himself in all honesty. Not that Ao minded at all really. It was fun being able to direct a conversation and get some kind of fun out of it. He had to give the other props for being able to make people feel at ease and smile.
{âź} â; âDo I appear strong?â he asked, wondering why the other thought he wasnât as delicate as he appeared. That would be good however, as heâs the leader, and he supposed that gave his team an intimidating appearance. Better to seem intimidating than to seem weak, right? He appreciates the gesture and compliment that the other sends his way however. He knows heâs messing around but it was true, Aoâs heart was very fragile and just like the other he preferred to avoid direct confrontations.
{âź} â; âThere is no need to apologize you were just speaking your version of the truth. I have to respect that as your leader in order to understand you.â though admittedly the shorter boyâs eccentric nature made it hard sometimes to completely comprehend their actions. They were right though, for what Shouta lacked in communicating with words was well put together through his hand gestures. Upon the mention of Titus once more Ao freezes up, and then becomes completely embarrassed at the very insinuation that the two of them would ever be attracted to each other. That would be messy.
{âź} â; âTitus and I have a rocky relationshipâunstable completely undependable that would never work out.â he too laughs sheepishly like the other had before. âIâll keep that in mind then Mauve-kun, perhaps I can lighten up. Iâll heed your words though, prove to me that you can become better than me! Weâre all aiming to be hunstman after all, so we are bound to either work again together, or be complete rivals, keep that in mind.â
â... Well, yes... I think? But youâre also supposed to make things easier for me to understand! Balance, Captain, bal-ance! Sheesh.â [ Arguing this much was hard -- especially against Ao. Titus eventually would descend into physically bullying him, but Ao always kept to messing with his head. That was way worse. Lalia... his cold yet only saviour... Where was she when he needed cover off the battlefield!?
Shoulders lifting and falling, hands gesturing vaguely upon being asked such a question. Could he really define âstrengthâ so simply? No, he thinks, because strength depends on the person. How people see them, how they see themselves -- what matters more? The answer, to Shouta, is easy. ]
âIn my eyes, yes. I see you as strong, both physically and emotionally. I mean, despite Titus being clearly an ass, you never get violent. Plus, youâre the only melee fighter on our team -- up close and personal no less! None of us can handle that.â [ Lips pull up in an awkward and sheepish smile. How did their team even survive this long...? Heâd call it a perfectly imperfect mess and leave it at that. ]
âThough, I donât mean youâre perfect or can handle everything. Sâmore like... you have better endurance! Yes, yes! A big word like that conveys feeling, right? Right!? You can endure things very well, Captain! But sometimes, people break and itâs natural. Fufu, that is what I meant!â [ He displays a childish sort of pride now, upon being able to convey what heâs thinking to what he deems a successful extent. Trust him, it was hard! ]
âYouâre like a beautiful windy green. Toppling the world over with gusts so strong, but still giving kind breezes on scorching days." [ Words flow easier with colours and images attached, Shouta believes. Itâs the few times where he sounds intelligent, rather than a fool.
He swirls his hands in the air in a gesture of âwell, whateverâ when Ao denies the implications he set before him. ] âIâll give up on that topic... But, well, weâre a team for life, you know. Unless one of us dies! Speaking of which, thatâs not so bad. Itâs an exciting feeling, you know? To see everything flash by in a wonderful chaotic movie of colours and memories! Waahhh, fight with that in mind and youâll never hesitate -- I never do!â
( Lalia. )
As soon as she heard hurried footsteps in the hall, she groaned. As soon as he burst through the door, she groaned. As soon as he approached her? She opted for simply turning away. There was a reason she had opted to laying in their dorm room instead of mingling with the other students. Quiet was an old friend she enjoyed being in the presence of, and the boy simply had to come along and interrupt their silent conversation.
She rolls from her side to her back, gaze narrowed as she looked up at Shouta, a sigh escaping her before she even realizes. â Iâd rather not, â she says simply, eyes closing. âMaybe theyâre playing hide and go seek⌠Have you tried perhaps⌠Seeking them?âÂ
Despite her reply, Lalia was quite fond of his cheerful nature though, attempting to put up with it always drained her of any energy she had. She simply couldnât keep up with how hyper he was and teaching him had a habit of frustrating her. Playing with him? She honestly felt as though she did enough of that with the heavy snowfall. Enough playing to last the rest of the year⌠A girl can dream, canât she?Â
[ Lalia, Shouta had come to notice, was a very private person. Sometimes standoffish, even, but he brushed that off as merely bad communication. You see, he was quite the master at taking even the coldest of brush offs in stride. So, despite the fact sheâd tried to distract him and send him away (and he knows it -- not too subtle when you bond with your team often), he keeps his smile and crouches down on the floor beside her. ]
âVery funny, but they both told me they were going out. Ao had shopping to do and said Iâd be a distraction, right? And Titus... well, Titus had somewhere important to be. Said something about a sleepover party. So unfair! I wanna go to a sleepover, Lalia.â [ Although, he thinks, if they were playing hide and seek, theyâd done it incredibly well. Heâd never find them! Ah, he definitely had some worthy opponents on his team...! ]
âAnyway, we can play whatever you want! I just donât wanna sit around... and Ao said I canât draw since I keep accidentally using my semblance. Oh, but if it has a use, itâs okay... Lalia, do you want anything? Thereâs no water in here, so I can make it last super duper long!â
âA big dragon would be cool... Oh, but if itâs you, I bet itâs a pillow or something, hm?â
@pallidings
[ He comes into the shared dorm room with such energy and speed -- a tornado of a boy -- nearly stepping and tripping over Lalia who lays about on the floor (as per usual), but he manages to stop himself in time, just short of an inch.
And he beams down at her, his smile so bright and radiant that itâs more annoying than the sun, youâd want to stare at the yellow star far longer with no sunglasses to ease the pain than see this sort of expression on Shoutaâs face. Because, of course, it meant he wanted something.
And, sadly, Lalia was his target for today. ]
âLa! Li! Aaaa!â [ He stresses each syllable of her name, tone full of cheerfulness and life -- so twinkly does it sound, and itâs as if heâs an overjoyed little fairy, each word falling from his lips a beautiful sparkling tune.
Swaying on his feet, hands clasped behind his back, giggles tumbling from his lips that sounds like soft wind chimes on a lazy Spring day, he gazes at his team member warmly. Maybe if he looks extra sweet and innocent, sheâll definitely come along? ] âTitus and Ao are gone! Want to play with me?â
(Â Ao. )
{âź} â; âHow is being really serious any different from being totally serious? If anything youâd be the more serious one in that caseâŚdo you need to get your head checked, Mauve-kun?â he knits his brows in confusion. Heâd suggest books but it would prove to be unhelpful, as the otherâs nature wasnât in processing things like that. He once more rolls his eyes at the so called life of the party. He felt being more serious and practical was better than being enthusiastic and having too much energy. Ao thought he balanced himself pretty well.
{âź} â; ââ!?â was a simple flick on the forehead considered violence? He better be more careful. âNo youâre right, violence isnât the answer, sorry for hitting you.â he laughs a little. âIâm not that mean, am I?â he purses his lips, not that the other can really see, though the expression is clear on Aoâs face that the very mention of Titus puts him on edge. âNo, please donât mention him right now. He didnât do anything though, itâs just a usual day.â
{âź} â; âWellâŚâ he sighs, putting his arms behind his back and tapping his feet on the ground gently. âYou tend to run away and keep your distance in battles, a good strategy given your stature Iâll give you that, and like Lalia youâre good at distracting people. However itâs kind of hard to take you serious when youâre bouncing around all the time admittedly. Also no, I have never heard that expression before. Only âitâs always the quiet onesâ which of course, makes me wary of Lalia.â of course that being said he knew Lalia kept her distance too so he really didnât know who on his team to really depend on in a tight situation.
â... Wh... what?â [ Oh my. Word play wasnât his forte. It required more than just quick thinking, and thinking fast was all he could do. Too bad for him that his team was so good at talking back fast, it left him floundering about like a fish with no water. ]Â â... D-Donât say complicated things, Captain! Itâs your job to make up for what I lack, and we all know I donât do words very well.â
[ He thinks that really he doesnât have a good balance either. He and Ao both seem to forget what makes a perfect balance -- they both fall on complete opposites of the spectrum. Tall, short. Serious, bubbly. Faunus, human. Moon, stars. And so forth.
When Ao panics, Shouta waves his hands about wildly in his own flustered flurry. He canât put together what he wants to say well, but he can convey it in other ways -- like these gestures. ]Â âIt wasnât like that! Youâre more delicate than you appear, hm? Haha... Iâm sorry, Captain. Youâre not a bad guy, Iâm just messing around.â
[ A pause to let a sheepish laugh slip past, a hand rising up to scratch at his cheek nervously. ] âSorry for mentioning Titus too, but I hope you two can work it out someday! Well, you know what they say, Captain! Opposites attract, right? Maybe you and Titus...!â
[ Heâll shut up now before heâs smacked. This time, he knows when to be quiet. ]Â â... Anyway, please take me seriously...! You donât always have to be cold and firm to be serious, you know! Nevermind the wordy stuff, just watch your back! Iâm super tough!â
( Titus. )
Books werenât all that bad, sure they didnât have a ton of pictures, but the information they held in that bound spine of theirs was plentiful! A plethora of knowledge, ready to be unleashed at oneâs fingertips, all one needed was to open the cover, and it was theirs for the taking. And the fact that there were hundreds, no, tens of thousands of books⌠all that information waiting to be absorbedâ Titus wanted to get his hands on it all.
â Hmm⌠â He pauses, thinking at what the other had to offer in terms of an analogy. It was true, Titus was like a bird in many ways, so it was annoying when his teammate pinpoints him perfectly. But he doesnât want to admit heâs rightâ only because heâs fooled himself well enough to where he believes the other is wrong. Heâs not like that at all.
â And you remind me ofâ a brat! â Itâs sudden, the headlock that he puts his friend in, fist colliding with tousled black locks. He rubs his fist down, giving his infamous noogie.
â But you know, Shouta, thatâs just my opinion! â
[ He hadnât expected that -- ah, he absolutely dreaded these times! He squirms about like a small animal in Titusâs hold, his hands that clawed and patted at his friendâs arms for freedom being soon thrown out for nearby help of which would never reach him. He wails like a small child, whining and screaming, and he kicks out his legs -- although never backwards. He has every intention of being a brat, as Titus said, but he has no wish to kick back and hurt him. ]
âFuu...! Titus, lemme go! I get it, I get it...! Give, give!â [ Heâll cry if he has to, go running to Ao and tattle or hide behind Lahlia and whimper (despite the fact sheâd provide not even the slightest of help). Being the youngest child of the family really did make him quite the spoiled little baby, and heâd run to anyone whoâd protect him. ]
âYouâre a meanie, a jerk! Monster, monster! Bully! If this is what having a big brother is like, Iâm glad I had three pretty and nice sisters! Wahhh, Titus...! So cruel, when I was just trying to understand youuuu!â
[ He cranes his neck, trying his best to meet Titusâs eyes in this uncomfortable trap of a hold -- and it proves difficult. God, he thinks, fuck tall people and strong people -- the combined ones are the worst! He canât do a thing to escape, and heâs usually so good at it! Shooting a very unscary glare and pursing his lips into a pout, he wails out once again. ]Â âNasty tongue! Wash it with soap! Tell me nice things...!â
(Â Ao. )
{âź} â; He reaches towards the other, practically falling for the playful tricksters jokes. They act like Ao is mean but they pull this kinda thing off all the time, crocodile tears are no joke! Ao had such an undependable team, either being passive and distant or actively hating him for who he was. He had to be mature as everyone else had too much of a childish nature to them. He sighs when he watches the other recover cheerfully with a giggle. He stares at him with doubt,  and rolls his eyes before small digits start swinging at him.
{âź} â; âAh what an advantageous positionâŚâ for Ao maybe. âIf you ever hope to surpass me youâll have to prove your worth, and please become a little more serious, otherwise your jokes will only leave me as the one who is laughing.â he smiles gently, and flicks his team member in the middle of his forehead. Please get off now.
âIâm totally serious, Captain! Youâre just really serious and no fun! I bring life and love and laughter to our team, I canât tone it down or else weâd be really dreary and boring, donât you agree? Everyone is so serious and reserved, itâs my job to be the life of the party!â
[ When fingers connect with his forehead in a painful yet playful gesture, a sharp yelp tumbles from Shoutaâs lips as he jumps and backs away, rubbing where he was hit gently. He tilts his head downward, eyes flicking upwards every so often only to glare childishly at Ao. ]Â âViolence is never the answer, so donât hit me...! Making fun of me, flicking me... Our captain is on such a bad mean streak...! What happened? Did Titus say something again?â
[ Hands fall from their place at his head, shoving themselves neatly into the pockets of his jacket. He sways left and right on his feet now as if the wind is blowing his small frame over -- alike to a weak and thin tree, he could fall over at any second. ] âYouâre underestimating me. What a pain... Donât you know the ones you least expect things from, turn out to be some of the best?â
starter call! like this for a starter, you can hmu if you want something specific! ww

{âź} â; âAhâgood evening Mauve-kun. Youâre looking peppy as usual.â all that energy in one tiny person was truly surprising. âI heard a couple bickering the other day. One asked the other why they couldnât drive, if it was because the other was a âbig macho manâ or somethingâŚhe replied that they werenât sure if the otherâs tiny legs could reach the pedal. Kinda reminded me of you.â
âU-Uwaaah...! A headshot, Iâm down! Pick up, pick up...!â [ Dramatic as always, Shouta clutches his heart and stumbles back a few steps, whimpering in mock pain -- even giving forth some crocodile tears! True to form, he was the âchildâ of the team, despite being one of the two oldest. He found it good, though, to be so expressive since the rest of his team was so... dull. He soon grins as bright as always, despite âcryingâ only moments earlier, his hands forming the gesture of âpeace signâ and he presses them to his cheeks. A giggle escapes him. ]
âEheh... But that was so cruel, you know! My height is an advantage... sometimes... ohhh, I assure you! I will prove it!â [ Now reaching up as much as he can (pushing himself to the limits as he stands up on his tip toes), he swats at his team leader playfully, huffing and pouting. ]Â âSomeday Iâll totally surpass you, Captain! And then weâll see whoâs laughing.â
(Â Titus. )
Poor kid, just what would he do if he didnât have Titus to help guide him? He might be better off in all honesty⌠Shouta can find a better role model, right? Right.
â I try to be, â he offers the comment and accepts the compliment, â Sometimeâs I make poor choices however, just as anybody else would. â
âHm... well, thatâs expected, isnât it?â [ Shouta sets his gaze back down on the book, staring blankly at nothing in particular. It wasnât all that engaging of a tale -- it wasnât a tale at all, really. Some book assigned for class about the history -- oh how tragic of a history -- when the Grimm killed many, lives lost and grieved for.
Ah, he thinks, that reading this book would be much easier if it was all pictures. Colourful, vibrant pictures that tell the story far better than words could ever hope to string along into âgood enoughâ phrasing, hoping to convey even an ounce of what an image could do.
Although, that doesnât change the feelings behind it too much, now does it? âGrimm are vicious, to be feared, to be killed.â Now that wasnât a âmessageâ he particularly enjoyed expressed. He thinks of it like propaganda, when those afraid of new things -- things they donât understand -- invade their âsafeâ lives, so they kill it, crush it -- along with all itâs hopes and dreams. But they are safe, they are happy.
Oh. What a bad memory.
He smiles bitterly and shuts the book. He doesnât want to read anymore. ] âYou know... you remind me of a bird. So mighty and beautiful, but one sound of a twig cracking beneath the boots of someone coming close and... you fly away.â
âOf course, thatâs just my opinion.â [ And Iâm a fool. ]
(Â titus. )
Casually takes his book and flips it right side up. Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Youâre welcome.
â... Oh.â [ He lights up even more so than he already was, delighted at the sight of far more easier on the eyes text set before him. He turns and smiles up at Titus. ] âThat explains why it felt, like, extra hard! Thank you, Titus! Youâre super smart, huh?â
âWow! Iâm really getting a hang of this reading thing!â
&& when i pull the trigger, i wanna see you come alive.
