[[ So it’s been a hot minute since I’ve logged into my other blogs. Haven’t had a lot of head-space for them lately with all the other stuff I’ve been doing. Recently started picking up animation between work and stuff for DnD.

I’m hoping to start getting into some kind of voice acting by the start of 2021.

Aside from that, I’ve been mostly active on @silva-vinandi​, but I’m hoping to potentially revive some of my other blogs, including this one. Next year holds some promise, hopefully, so fingers crossed! ]]

Hot Take: Uldarik’an have been heavily modeled after cats, and therefore are capable of squeezing through spaces that would normally appear to be much too small for them.

Hands pressed up against the glass, and the exhale of breath fogged up the window as her tail twitched back and forth. Vynera had never been up this high in the city, too caught up and unable to get much of a foot-hold to even dream of making it this far. Having friends in high places (literally) had its perks, she guessed.

“It’s so pretty from up here... You really get to see this all the time..? Wow...”

Vynera held the cup in both hands, careful not to spill it, as she lifted it up close to her face and scented the liquid that was inside. Immediately her nose scrunched up and her eyes squinted, and she lowered the cup to peer at her company.

“People really drink this stuff for fun? It smells like cough medicine...”

   Your heart at the moment desires to run. it's haunting, chasing you, booming louder. sometimes it's distant enough that you can handle ignoring it, but now, it's so loud. maybe you've tried to face it before, even fight it. you may have failed, or possibly succeeded, but you spared its life, and now it has returned. maybe you never fought it, and simply kept running. and now more than ever, this feels like your last resort. your mind is telling you that you need to run, to run, to run, faster and faster, to lose sight of this. to shake it, because you couldn't shake it before. but is that the right solution? will it really solve anything?

idly,  he stepped to the side,  soon pacing around the broken down shuttle.  surely it couldn’t be that complicated…  but then,  his knowledge was that of biology,  not engineering.

            “ Strange to me to imagine living in a world where..  this…  is new. ”  he knew of technology that could do wonders well before he was old enough to understand any of it.  sciences that could render one immortal,  that could throw off the restraints of natural biology and exceed the limits   —-  what would it have been like to live in an age less advanced?  he hadn’t the slightest idea.   “ I presume you don’t have the means to have this replaced,  then. ”

“We weren’t quite as advanced. Electricity existed in simple forms - but we preferred to use clean means of energy to avoid.. well.. we took care of our planet just as it took care of us, you know?”

Hands continued to clear out the jagged, blackened crystals; and her tail flicked at the next statement.

“...No, not really. Most of the currency I made went to this. I wasn’t sure if it would work at all so it was more of a hopeful gamble. At least I get to learn from it, though.”

   “ I could take a look.  But I have a motorcycle,  not a travel shuttle. ”

She’d already jumped up to rummage around through the mish-mash of mechanisms that made up her shuttle. One look at it could tell literally even an infant that this tech wasn’t as.. up to date, as everything else. 

Vynera pulled out a shard of the aforementioned crystals, and scowled at the oil-slick color of it before tossing it off to the side. Then - she looked over her shoulder at the offer.

“Ah, no offense, but this tech - or most of it - is native to my homeland; And to us, this was new. Honestly, it was a miracle that this hunk of metal got me this far.” She paused, looking down at the ruined engine, “You’re uh.. welcome to try, though.”

“Well, I was expecting the new engine filler to get me at least out of the atmosphere. But now my engine is broken and filled with weird chemical crystals. So..”

Well, this certainly was a pickle...

Granted she even knew what pickles were. 

Vynera sighed, her tail flicking back and forth as she bent over a part of her shuttle. It was about as big as a bus, but comparatively, she was also bigger than other much smaller beings called humans. So naturally, it would only fit one person. Part of the shuttle was opened up, revealing the engine and inner workings. 

There was a clang of metal, an alien swear and a billow of smoke as she flinched away, coughing and covered in soot. Yep. Engine was fried. It’d be a little while before she could take for the stars again. 

Her large ears shot up when she heard a distant snapping of a twig. 

Her head whipped around, eyes scanning the surrounding trees. Maybe... Maybe it was just wildlife.. yeah that had to be it. Forests like this had to be teeming with it... Right?
