starbrightbakuraâ:
âThey are normal to me. I do not have experience with the feathers of your birds. Though of course mine are far larger and more beautiful.â There was little that would stop him from boasting. Among humans his wings were his stand out feature and he was infinitely proud of them.
Akefiaâs work was satisfactory, so Bakura changed his mind and pushed his wing lightly up into his hands to encourage him to continue. He would preen at home later on his own, but it was nice to be worshiped. And to see humans inadvertently cover their hands in the to-them invisible ultraviolet pigment of his feathers.
âQuite the voracious appetite for stimulation you have. What do you do to entertain yourself then, when you have no stars to molest?â
Akefia wasnât going to argue with that much. They were certainly something to behold, and far more magnificent than any bird heâd ever seen. He had tried to push himself to stop more than once, but he didnât miss that Bakura had at some point begun to enjoy it.
He winced at the word molest. Was that what he was doing? He was certainly taking advantage to a degree. It wasnât as if the star had tried particularly hard to stop him, though.
âThe normal things people do. Kill, eat, steal, get into fights. Anything to stave off the endless boredom.â He shrugged.Â
".. Are those normal things for humans to do?" He queried in a tone of voice that answered 'no they aren't'. "I hardly see how you could be bored when your life is clearly filled with so much vicious excitement. Are you so good at these fights that they are trivial matters to you?"
To test his reaction, Bakura unfurled his currently ignored wing and coupled it around Akefia like a cloak.
"Or perhaps you are well off enough to have no necessity out of reach?"
starbrightbakuraâ:
âAnd I am not at risk of damaging your skin with a single touch. I am aware of how .. sturdy humans are.â Bakura pulled his hands back to himself and idly busies them with preening some of the feathers closest to their reach.
âI find you intriguing. Is that so hard for you to comprehend? Scars often have stories.â He couldnât help himself, at the mention he wet his lips, including the scar that ran across them and across his own face. âAs for why I deserve them? Am I not a man of intrigue myself? You were so entitled to information pertaining to my limbs, were you not?â
âIâm not concerned about that-â Akefia already found himself spilling more than intended, out of sheer annoyance. âItâs sensitive skin, and I donât like it being touched. Satisfied?â
His eyes were drawn to where Bakura had begun to preen his feathers, fingers itching to feel those feathers again. He restrained himself, hardly in the mood to have more attention drawn to his hypocrisy.
âItâs hardly the same. Scars arenât often good stories. Just a clumsy mistake in a fight, a reminder not to get caught off guard next time. A lesson I simply had to learn several times.â A touch of sarcasm had settled into his tone, the thief becoming more defensive. âTheyâre not very interesting stories.âÂ
âI suppose so. I had not anticipated your being so adverse to touch. My apologies.â He managed to make the apology sound sincere too, though he doubted Akefia would not notice it came so quickly after mirth at his distress.
But perhaps his companion was more interested in his beauty than his own upset. Privately Bakura let pride swell in his chest, outwardly he continued idly playing with the sleek white feathers with tantalising finger motions.
âI find many human stories interesting. Perhaps they seem mundane to you. Your life is full of them. Still, I see the point you are making. Tell me some other heroic tale of yours then.â
starbrightbakuraâ:
âThe food was out on display.â Bakura retorted, arms folded in defiant defence around the large bowl of colourful pasta heâd taken as heâd left. His wings were wide, spread ready to take to the skies and leave this human bearing his face to take the fall.
âI advise you wear a hat.â
Oh, hell no. He wasnât about to take the damn fall for the stupid-ass crime of stealing a bowl of pasta. If it were something bigger, more elaborate of a scheme? Fine, heâd gladly take credit. But, Bakura wasnât about to be known as a fucking pasta thief.
ââIâd advise you to shut the fuck up.â
His cold response was followed by a lunge, arms outstretched in an attempt at grabbing at the otherâs wings, to try and keep him from taking off.
âVery well- ooph!â Heâd started with a sneer and a sweep of his wings, but the words were barely out when the human collided right into him. Bakura was not built as humanâs imagined angels, muscular and powerful. He was more akin to a fragile collection of twigs and paper.
He collapsed back under the superior weight and strength of his counterpart. The pasta fell forlornly and spilled all over the ground around them, partially cushioning their fall.
âFool!â Bakura spat, trying without much luck to force the other up and off of him with his spindly arms. There was disgusting earth all over his feathers! And his dinner was ruined. âDo you wish for us both to be caught? You at least are plain to see. You would be easily mistaken for another. I am iconic and unforgettable.â
starbrightbakuraâ:
Bakura slowly raised one eyebrow, deliberate as a piece of performance art. He was smugly serene in the face of Akefiaâs anxiety.
âThose are hardly the answers I was looking for. And you know so. A storyteller such as I needs that that. Does it upset you to be treated in your own manner?â
Akefia scoffed, and released Bakura slowly but kept a close eye on him. His posture remained defensive, ready to neutralise another attack at any moment. The otherâs clear satisfaction that he had been annoying only served to make the whole ordeal worse.
âI was respectful, and careful.â He muttered, irritated, before shaking his head. âI donât see why you would even want those stories from me, nor why you think you deserve them.âÂ
âAnd I am not at risk of damaging your skin with a single touch.
@starbrightbakuraââ asked:Â âHow was I supposed to know?â
ââWhat do you mean?? You canât just dine and dash from places with plenty of security cameras, you moron!â Of course, now the cops were on the run for a man with white hair. And, it just so happened, that this part of Domino seemed to have a lot of those running amok. Of course, being without any soft of magical abilities for an easy escape, he himself was a very easy target.
âThe food was out on display.â Bakura retorted, arms folded in defiant defence around the large bowl of colourful pasta heâd taken as heâd left. His wings were wide, spread ready to take to the skies and leave this human bearing his face to take the fall.
âI advise you wear a hat.â
starbrightbakuraâ:
Bakura dropped his book sharply when it was made clear Akefia was not interested in stopping. He narrowed his bright eyes and reached over to catch the manâs hand in his own slender grip. He had little hope of stopping the man physically but usually humans were easy to put to good use if you humoured them.
âFeathers.â He answered, indicating with his tone that yes he did think of Akefia as being so stupid that he needed the obvious answer. âAnd if you must touch them at least do so properly. Run your fingers from base to tip, like this. It is how we preen. Not that I understand your need to invade my person space. Surely, the boon of being able to behold my wings at all should satisfy you.â
The book hitting the floor caught his attention at last, easily caught as a result. He was quick to pull his hand free but refrained from putting them back until he was given permission. However much it seemed to bother Bakura that he had taken that liberty already.
âThey donât feel like normal feathers.â Akefia followed the given instruction, quickly drawn back into his fascination with them. He was careful, at least, mindful not to cause injury or harm. He huffed a laugh at the arrogance of the star - as if the thief could ever be satisfied with so little. âNothing will satisfy me.âÂ
âThey are normal to me. I do not have experience with the feathers of your birds. Though of course mine are far larger and more beautiful.â There was little that would stop him from boasting. Among humans his wings were his stand out feature and he was infinitely proud of them.
Akefiaâs work was satisfactory, so Bakura changed his mind and pushed his wing lightly up into his hands to encourage him to continue. âQuite the voracious appetite for stimulation you have. What do you do to entertain yourself then, when you have no stars to molest?â
@thiefakefia from X:
Akefia flinched away from the touches, hands quickly grabbing Bakuraâs arms and putting as much distance as he could between them whilst still keeping his hold. It was true that he likely deserved the invasive treatment after his lack of respect for the otherâs personal space, but it didnât mean he had to just sit there and deal with it.
âIn a fight, in a fight, and in a fight.â He lied, visibly agitated. âAny more questions, or are you done?â Â

Reblog if you wouldn't mind some curious anons
daezilly:
@thiefakefia from X:
Akefia ignored the star at first, in favour of continuing to touch wings. They fascinated him, from the texture of the feathers to the soft creamy colouring. Heâd never seen anything like them before, and he was in something of a trance. They didnât feel quite like any of the bird feathers heâd ever felt in his life.
âI donât really do rules.â He answered, offhandedly. âNever been one for keeping to them. They always slip my mind- what are these made of? I donât understand.
Bakura dropped his book sharply when it was made clear Akefia was not interested in stopping. He narrowed his bright eyes and reached over to catch the manâs hand in his own slender grip. He had little hope of stopping the man physically but usually humans were easy to put to good use if you humoured them.

Surely, the boon of being able to behold my wings at all should satisfy you.â
58: What would you change about your life right now?
âThere are more than one unsatisfactory things that come along with life on Earth. At this current time? The weather has been terrible as per usual. Clear skies are my preference, with no clouds to interfere.â
âI suppose it would be good to have higher paying employment. I had not anticipated how quickly children grow. Ammon needs new clothes practically every year, let alone the quantity of food he needs. It shall be a relief once he is out of his infancy.â
