Stardew Characters' Spirit's Eve Costumes

Happy Halloween / Spirit's Eve / Blessed Samhain / whatever you may celebrate today! Many people dress up in costume for this holiday - what might the residents of Stardew Valley be dressed as this year? (note: there are a few costumes of characters that likely wouldn't exist in the Stardew Valley universe, but I believe that if they did, it would be a likely fit for certain peoples' costumes.)

Abigail: Westley (from The Princess Bride)

Alex: a zombie, maybe even a zombie gridball player

Caroline: a witch

Clint: a ghost (white sheet style)

Demetrius: Gomez Addams (from The Addams Family)

Dwarf: likely doesn't celebrate the holiday (due to not following many human customs), and therefore wouldn't dress up

Elliott: Howl Pendragon (from Howl's Moving Castle)

Emily: A ghost, but full out with a - historically accurate - dress recreation from 170 years ago, white face/body paint, and shimmer powder

Evelyn: The Bride of Frankenstein

George: Frankenstein's monster

Gus: A stereotypical summer tourist (including a bum bag/fanny pack, white face paint as nose sunscreen, a floral shirt, and a far too large sunhat)

Haley: Daphne Blake (from Scooby-Doo)

Harvey: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (one on the right, the other on the left)

Jas: Rapunzel

Jodi: A bee

Kent: Either doesn't dress up, or dresses as a pun (such as 'ceiling fan' or 'when life gives you lemons')

Krobus: Like the dwarf, he may also not celebrate this holiday, but if he does, Krobus would dress as a jack-o-lantern

Leah: Sally (from The Nightmare Before Christmas (or I suppose The Nightmare Before Winter Star?))

Leo: Pretty new to the celebration, but dresses up as a flower

Lewis: A clown (in the classic circus way, not a horror way)

Sebastian: One of two options: either a last-minute skeleton costume consisting of items he had in his closet, or an Inuyasha (from Inuyasha) costume that was in development for months, and made completely from scratch

Shane: The Grim Reaper

Vincent: a bat

Willy: A cowboy

Wizard: doesn't dress up, but simply by nature of being a wizard, he is dressed as a wizard

Of course!! Please correct me if I say anything offensive :))

Haley:

- Haley will always try to keep updated on how the farmer feels, but she can sometimes be a little intense.

- However, she always tries to correct herself and she's very determined to be as good as she can to her partner and we love her for it!

- She looks into gender expression in her free time a lot when she's alone. She finds it interesting anyway but also she wants to know more about the farmer!

- Honestly, Haley just loves the farmer for them, regardless of how they present. She just wants to hug them <3

Sam:

- Sam had never really looked into gender expression and identity before he met the farmer, but understanding it more, he actually is quite fascinated by it!

- He tells Abby and Seb about stuff he's discovered through it all the time because he just radiates the energy of someone who would share loads of facts about something he got into very suddenly and recently.

- Sam also just loves the farmer for who they are, and he wants them to present however makes them happy!

Headcanon for when Sam is having a bad day and how seb and abbey help and comfort him

-Sam is super private about his problems. Being known as “sunshine” to everyone in a 5 mile radius makes him feel worse when he’s already having a bad day. He tends to go silent when he’s having problems.

-Since he goes silent, Abby is the first to notice when he’s not as chatty. Sebastian takes longer to realize since Sebastian himself is pretty quiet.

-Abby will shoot a text asking if he’s okay, to which she’ll get a two to three word message about how he’s fine. She knows its a lie though.

-She shows up at her house with video games, movies and snacks, anything to distract or make him feel better.

-Abby would text Sebastian to tell him somethings wrong with Sam. Sebastian picks up pizza and colas from the saloon on his way over.

-They wont force Sam to open up, but it isn’t super hard to get him to talk. He does have a hard time explaining whats going on. He usually tears up while talking.

-Hugs. Abby and Seb give him so many hugs.

-They offer all the distractions to him to keep his mind off things for awhile.

-They usually end up friendly cuddling in Sams bed before they pass out.

-Sam struggles to tell them, but he really appreciates them.

I just saw Emily's 8 heart event again (the clothing therapy one) and it's insane how this is Emily's heart event but it basically revolves around how Clint feels. Like he has to be the center of the heart event of a character who he admits he barely even talks to.

When I first started playing SDV I was like "well maybe he's just misunderstood, most people pine at some point in their life, he probably grows out of it right?" And there's so much potential for him to be a sympathetic character!

But instead we have a character whose incel vibes are off the charts, and my hatred for him knows no bounds.

In the clothing therapy event, Emily says his outfit is "cute" and he acts all mopey because that wasn't the exact word he wanted to hear. Grow the fuck up oh my GOD

It is absolutely infuriating how he acts like a romantic relationship with Emily should just fall in his lap. Like yeah, I have social anxiety and depression too bud, but I don't act like I'm entitled to the women in my life
