Photo by A Change.org petition urging TLC to cancel the popular reality show “19 Kids and Counting” is gaining steam online, with more than 125,000 signatures…and counting. The petition, which was first posted in August by Jim Wissick of San Jose, Calif., caught on when it was mentioned on E! Online on Tuesday, going from nearly 7,000 signatures to 50,000 signatures overnight. Entitled “End LGBTQ fear mongering by the Duggars,” Wissick is calling for the cancellation of the Duggars’ show because “[t]he Duggars have been using their fame to promote discrimination, hate, and fear-mongering against gays and transgendered people.” STORY: Matthew Shepard’s Parents Head to Russia "19 Kids and Counting" follows the lives of fundamentalist Baptist Jim Bob Duggar and his wife Michelle and their children in Tontitown, Ark. So their apparent disdain for gay rights should not be all that surprising. The petition stems from the family’s stance on a law proposed in Arkansas over the summer. It begins by calling out Michelle Duggar for a robocall she recorded then, asking state residents to vote down the anti-discrimination law protecting the transgender community.
