Hello Lovelies!!! KT here, so in my last post I talked about trying to get some writing done during the holiday break I had from my day job. Gentle reader, I'm going to hold your hand through this. I did not get any writing done in those two weeks that I had off. I tried, but between holiday celebrations with my family and just trying to recharge for the next bit of work, I did nothing super creative. I not only had writer's block going on, but a bit of burnout, as well. I've managed to recharge my battery and start a couple new creative projects for IRL things. So fingers crossed that there will be some story updates soon. In fact I started working on the next part of Bear's story, so keep an eye out for that.
Bear slowly gets back to their shop and starts cleaning up a bit. They needed this to go well, things hadn't been going well, lately. They shook their heads. They wouldn't dwell on it now. That would only come back to bite them in the ass. They had all the coping strategies, magical and otherwise. They just needed the damned nightmares to shove off so they could actually get some sleep. They shook their head as they swept and pulled the table they used for seances and palm readings into the middle of the room and then began making a meal. Peace was also better brokered over a meal. At least that's what Nessy said. And Nessy was the best at brokering peace. Bear just hoped they could be half as good as her. The chocolate chip cookies were just getting on the cooling rack when the alarm for seven thirty hit, and the shops bells went off. Bear took one last deep breath before leaving their kitchen.
"Welcome in, boys." Bear says seeing not only Bruce and Jason, but Johnathon and Danny as well. "I'm afraid I didn't account for any extras in my planning." Bear says, as John shrugs and pulls up a chair as Danny looks more apologetic. "Sorry, Bear." He says as Bear sighs, shaking their head. "It's alright, I, had a feeling." Bear says as the two men they were all there for slowly sat down. "Now, boys, I don't care if you talk or not, I'm gonna be talking and yapping all night, so it's fine if you don't, but I will not let you leave hungry. That was Nessy's rule and it's become mine too, any who enters doesn't go away unfed." Bear rambles, as platters start to fly out from the kitchen. "Didn't get a list of allergies like I should so it's chicken with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and cream corn, cause that's my comfort foods. Now would anybody like a drink? I have Diet Coke and water, no John, alcohol is not an option, give your liver a break." Bear says as the boys look at them fondly, as they dish up. "This is perfect, Bear." Jason says, as they shut their mouth right then and there and fidget with their fingers, and turn a bright red. "Thanks." They say, as John nods. "He's right, bloody amazing food." He says as Bear hums. "I'll be right back." Bear says, dashing into the kitchen.
"Are they alright?" Bruce asks as Danny smirks. "They're fine, they grew up in the Midwest, so, being complimented is not a thing they're used to." Danny says, as he looks to John. "But you knew that already, right, Constantine?" Danny says as John nods. "You two know each other?" Bruce asks as Danny shrugs. "If you're into the occult sooner or later you meet just about everyone, including the latest laughing magician." Danny says as Jason nods, eyes going to the kitchen, a little nervous. "Jase, they'll be out in just a minute. They need a second to catch their breath." Danny says as Bruce watches his son. "I know." He snaps, but then looks ashamed, and just as quickly as Bear floated away they float back in and look over the table. "Alright, so, I forgot introductions, I'm sorry about that. You all may call me Bear, what may we call you?" Bear says, pointing to John. "For tonight you may call me John." He says as Bear nods. "You may call me Bruce." Bruce replies as they all shift to Danny now, who looks to be thinking. "You may call me Danny." He says as all eyes fall to Jason. "You may call me Jason." He says as Bear nods. "Great, now, Nessy would usually establish a truth circle, I am not going to do that, as that would mean everyone would have to tell the truth, that's not what tonight is about. Tonight is about trust and re-establishing relationships. So instead I'm enacting a circle of trust. Nothing we talk about will leave this circle, except for if someone gives permission for the information to be released to others outside of this circle, everyone understand?" Bear asks as all participants nod in confirmation.
"Okay, first things first." Danny says as all eyes go to him, but Bear nods. "Bruce, you had no way of knowing what was effecting Jason." Danny continues, as Jason nods in affirmative. This is what he wants to say but doesn't quite know how to explain it yet, he barely understands it himself. "What do you mean?" Bruce asks as Danny nods. "Jason was affected by corruptive ectoplasm in his system. See, when Jason came back, well, it wasn't exactly all human that came back. He died and was dead for six months. His soul had been in limbo because it takes a bit to figure out where people go when they die. Anyways, so when Jason came back, he came back as mostly dead, which is still slightly alive." Danny says, as Bear giggles at the absurd Princess Bride reference. All eyes briefly go to them. "Sorry, sorry, don't mind me, I just, I love the movie." Bear says, trying to stop the giggles, and then Jason cracks and soon so does Bruce. "It's a classic." Bruce says as John's smiling, too.
"Okay, so Jason was sick, because of how he came back?" Bruce asks, as Bear starts clearing the table with their magic. "Sort of." Bear says as Danny nods. "The how and why he was sick isn't the important part, the important part is that, well, Jason isn't all human or all ghost either." Bear says, standing behind Jason for a moment while looking at Bruce. "Oh, okay, how does that change his needs?" Bruce asks, as Bear smiles, and rubs Jason's back, now going to stand by John. "Well, for starters, in ghost culture, it's highly rude to bring up a ghost's death, unless said ghost talks about it first." Danny says, as Jason kind of grimaces. "And that brings us to that damed memorial in that cave of yours, Batsy." Bear says as Bruce nods. "Alfred took it down this morning." Bruce says as Jason freezes. "He, he took it down?" Jason asks as Bruce nods. "Yeah, well, someone told me that you could be taking it as a memorial to you failing, which you didn't do, I did, but, I think its about time I stopped thinking that it was anything other than a tragic accident." Bruce says as Bear hides their smirk from Jason. He did listen and knew when he was wrong. Jason gasps and nods.
"Jason, my intention was to never hurt you, at least, not how I hurt you, I, didn't handle my grief for you correctly at all, and so when Tim came and dragged my ass out of grief spiral, he had to become way too strong for someone way to young, and until the Joker went after him as well, I, I didn't know how to help him with also handling my own ptsd from the past. I'm so sorry, and I need you to hear me when I tell you, you are always welcomed at the manor, to come and go as you please, to use my resources as you need them, to, to come and just hangout, to, even if you want to legally come back, or if you want to start schooling again, or anything, I, I want to be there for you, in anyway you'll have me." Bruce says as Jason nods, and something inside Bear cracks a little. The lights flicker for a brief moment and they go lower in their hovering, but only John and Danny seem to notice, sharing a look between the two of them. "We're gonna let you two sort this out, now, think you're both in good hands, with each other and your family." John says as Bruce nods. The two barely make it out of the shop before it goes dark.
Alrighty folks, we've come to the end of what I have already written, so no more daily updates I'm afraid. But please lmk if you want to be tagged in the next part or if you have any theories about what's to come or questions. I really do love writing Bear and their interactions with everyone, lmk if you want to see them interact with other batfam members, or not, you never know what I could come up with.

Bear bolts up in bed, breathing hard. Were they really awake this time? "Bear?" John asks, sleepily as Bear shakes some. "Come 'ere love." John says, scooping Bear into his arms, as Bear breathes in the smell of cigarettes and whiskey. "It was so real." Bear mumbles as the nightmare doesn't quite disappear from their mind. "Everyone was dead." They whisper, shaking as John rocks them. "Just a bad dream." John says, half unsure if it was one of Bears premonitions. "Sorry, about that, dear, somehow that one snuck by me." Thomas Wayne says, as Bear stills in John's arms. "You, you were real?" Bear whispers, staring at the ghost of a man who was way too young. "Oh, yes, I assure you my wife and I are very real." Thomas says, as Bear watches Martha walk up to her husband. "Leave the poor dear alone, Tommy, they need sleep." Martha says, as Bear feels like crying it's been quite sometime since someone was so considerate. "Bear?" John asks, as the gentle tears are slowly wiped away. "Are you alright, Love?" He asks as Bear, shrugs. "I think I just got adopted by the masters of this house." Bear says, as John looks around the room. "Bruce's parents are here." He says as Bear hums. "They weren't in the cave though." He guesses as Bear hums. "Oh good, they met Andrio." Thomas says as Martha hums. "He's been a bit moody since Bruce put up that memorial of our grandson." Martha says as Bear nods. "I'm fixing it," they say as they look at Bear. "If Bruce won't understand after our talk at seven, I'm fucking ripping that disgusting thing to shreds with my teeth." Bear growls, as John stills. "Good." Thomas says, patting Bears head. "Get some sleep dear, we'll protect you, too." Thomas says as Bear hums, closing their eyes.
The next time Bear wakes up, it's once again sunset, three hours to meet Jason and Bruce at the shop. "How long was I out?" Bear says, though it sounds rough and a little garbled from sleep. "After the nightmare; 13 hours." John says as they nod. "You kept talking to a... Tommy and M, though, Bear." John says as Bear sighs. "Martha and Thomas Wayne. They protect the house, and its occupants. Somehow they knew how to stop the nightmares." Bear says, a little dazed. "Perhaps your new friend could also help." John comments as Bear shrugs. "Pry not." Bear says, as they stand up, and open the door. "We should go." Bear says, as John agrees. "Mr. Constantine, Mx. Bear, leaving without a meal?" Alfred asks as Bear smiles. "Unfortunately I have to get to my shop, and check on a few things." Bear says, as they see Thomas and Martha trying to hang onto Alfred. Bear nods at the couple; apparently thruple. "They haven't left you; Alfie, they want you to know you've done a good job raising your guys' boy and helping with the grandchildren and strays they all pick up." Bear says, squeezing Alfred's hands just a bit as Alfred looks to Constantine with a raised eyebrow, who just shrugs. "Don't ask me I can't see the bloody ghosts in this home." He answers as Thomas chuckles, and Bear shakes their head. "You need to relax more, Alfie, get a hobby, maybe knitting." Bear says, channeling a little of Thomas as Alfred gasps. "Don't tease him, too much, dear, Alfred does plenty for us." Bear continues, this time as Martha. "You two always keep me on my toes, when would I have the time?" The reply from Alfred sounds almost like a memory of a conversation had many times. Bear smiles, nods once then lets go of Alfred's hands. "Thank you, my dear." Alfred says as Bear shrugs. "Think of it as payment for the protection last night." Bear says waving off anything Alfred would suggest. "Anyways, I must be off, ttfn, tatta for now." Bear says, as they make their way out the manor.
"Mr. Constantine, are you staying?" Alfred asks, as Johns a giant smile. "They're gonna be a good one." He says, watching Bear."Mr. Constantine?" Alfred asks again. "I'm afraid my services are no longer required here, old chap." John says, as Alfred nods. "Bear seems to be in need of a guardian." Alfred notes as John laughs. "Try telling them that. They got the dead and dead adjacent already keeping an eye on em everywhere they go, and whoever else they help along the way. They don't like to be tied down. It's better this way." John says as Alfred shakes his head. "Where are their parents?" Alfred asks, as John raises an eyebrow. "Dead and rotting in Hell." John says with so much malice. "Hell, sir?" Alfred asks, as John sighs. "Yeah, and they got off lucky, if they hadn't had died, they'd be tortured by everyone and thing Bear has helped since they died." John says, as Alfred points to a couple chairs and some tea. "Bear seems so nice and sweet." Alfred says as John smiles softly. "They are, and how they stayed that way through everything, it's a testament to them and no one else." John says as Alfred nods. "They're parents were right pieces of work. By the time Bear was six, they knew how to roll joints, and hide bruises with make up and sunglasses." John says as Alfred tuts as John agrees. "Anything Bear did that they didn't like, well, it was a belt and locked in a closet for days at a time, and six is when magic starts to develop in most born witches, so you can imagine what happened then." John continues. "Bears really strong cause they had to be, because if they were weak, they'd be the worst thing we could be facing. Their kindness and softness was earned through surviving the worst." John says as Alfred hums. "Lucky indeed."
Hello lovelies! This one got a little dark and twisty on me, so lmk if I need to add something to the triggers list, as I don't have many so I'm never too sure when they pop up in my writing. Anyways, lmk what ya think, any thoughts, theories, or questions! also next parts gonna be longer and the last daily update for now. I'm Planning on going to every three days maybe, but definitely at least once a week if not.
"Bear?" Jason asks through the phone. "Jason, before you say no to what I'm about to say, I'll remind you you owe me a couple favors and I'm not afraid to cash them in for this." Bear says as Jason gets a little confused at what Bear could possibly say to warrant using one of their favors. "Alright, you have my attention." Jason says as Danny tilts his head. "Your father would like to meet somewhere neither of you have an emotional connection to, and have a conversation, he has agreed to the terms that I can be there to help moderate as someone who helps the dead, and the living, all the time. I have a few places in mind, but I'd like to hear your thoughts first." Bear says gently in their sing song voice. "He wants to talk?" Jason asks shocked. "He'd like that but only if you're comfortable with it, Jason, I need to know your thoughts and feelings on this." Bear says oh so softly and firmly. "Right, I, uh, I'd like that, I think, I mean, Danny's been helping he figured out all the rage is not just mine, and got the, the corrupted shit outta my system. Bear, promise me you'll be there?" Jason asks, sounding scared even to his own ears. "Of course I will be there, it's happening at my shop. But Jason, how do you feel right now?" Bear asks as Jason sucks in a breath. "A little scared, a little, apprehensive, but mostly wanting to see my dad." Jason says, voice cracking up just a bit. "I'm sure, hun, he wants to see you, too. Hey is Phantom there, Jase?" Bear asks as Jason hums. "Could I talk to him?" Bear asks, as Jason looks at Danny who nods. "Here he is, Bear." Jason says, handing Danny the phone.
"Hello?" Danny asks as Bear sighs. "Age regression?" Bear asks right away. "No, just, just a lot of feelings, that I think have been sitting for too long." Danny says as Bear hums. "You think it wise to have his dad and him talk?" Phantom asks as Bear hums. "Oh absolutely, I think it'll do a lot more good than any of us thought possible." Bear says, as Danny hums as well. "When and where, Bear?" Danny says, as Bear nods. "My shop, tomorrow, 7:30." Bear says as Danny hums. "He'll be there." Danny says as Bear hums. "What do they know of me, Bear?" Phantom asks as Bear hums. "Not much, they honestly just have your shop on a watch out for list, think they suspect you might turn rogue they haven't put the dead connection together yet, and John and I made sure they wouldn't." Bear says as Phantom nods. "Cool thanks." Danny says as Bear nods. "Of course." Bear says, as Danny sighs. "Get some sleep, you sound tired, Psychopomp." Danny says as it's Bears time to sigh. "I am, King, but you know what they, I'll sleep when I'm dead." Bear jokes as Danny rolls his eyes. "You more than anyone should know how untrue that is." Danny says as Jason raises an eyebrow as Danny shakes his head. "That's true, anyways, I just need to get through this little debacle then I'm not leaving my shop till Samhain. It'll be me and the few ghosts that haunt my shop, and that's all the death I can take, unless John needs me, or someone else, someone else will pry need me, anyway, give Jase my love, and I'll see you kiddies tomorrow." Bear rambles yawns, then hangs up. Danny looks at the phone, shakes his head and hands it back to Jason. "Bear okay?" Jason asks as Danny shrugs. "As good as they can be, right now."
John looks over at Bear when they get off the phone. "Seven o'clock, my shop, old town Gotham, tomorrow." Bear says to Batman, as he nods, and Bear promptly drops to the floor. "Bear!" John shouts, as they pick their head up slowly. "I'm alright, John." They say, as they slowly get to their feet. "You, young Mx., need a warm bed." Alfred says as Bear shakes their head. "Nah, I'll be right as rain in ten seconds." Bear says, holding onto John's arm. "Uh, uh, young Mx, you've been up for nine days straight, to bed with you, let's go." John says, throwing Bear over his shoulder. "Put me down, Johnathon!" Bear screeches kicking their legs, and feeling like the child they pretended they weren't. "You need sleep, Bear." John says, going up into the manor. "No I don't I'm fine I'm not even at the hallucination stage these guys just have a lot of fucking ghosts!" Bear says, as Thomas and Martha Wayne both look their way, as John carries them up to a room with a large bed. "Dear he may be an ass but he's right, 9 days is too much without sleep." Martha says as Bear sighs.
"Even the dead are telling you to sleep." John says, as he throws Bear onto a bed. "Just don't leave me." Bear mumbles, latching onto John's coat sleeve. "Please, if, if I have a nightmare I don't wanna be alone." Bear says, biting their lip. "Alright, let me get changed into sleep wear, you to, Bruce keeps extra in the dresser in case his kids' friends need to stay." John says as Bear nods. "You'll be safe here, dear." Thomas says as Bear nods. "I believe you, Tommy, can always trust a ghost." Bear says, a worried glance tossed to the closet. "I'd rather sleep in that cave of yours, though, protected from fucking everything it is, how'd ya do that one?" Bear asks, blinking but Thomas and Martha Wayne aren't where they were, they aren't even in the room, anymore. "Bear?" John asks, as they get into the bed. "I thought I saw- Nevermind; just, make sure I'm up in time for Jason and his dad." Bear says, as they pull John's arm out from under his head and use it as a pillow and teddy bear.
Hi Lovelies! We are almost caught up to everything I have prewritten, we have about two parts to go, so updates'll slowdown, they won't be everyday, I have an 8-3 job that takes a lot out of me, but we're so close to winter break; five more days! That means I should be able to get some more writing done, in theory everyday, but who knows if my health will allow me to. Anyways lmk if y'all have any questions or theories as to what's happening to the blurbos. I love bear and am so glad y'all seem to like them too!
"You can see the stars tonight." Phantom says as Bear hums. "You sure can." They say as their eyes automatically find Orion, the hunter. "They tell ya anything?" Phantom asks as they shake their head. "Not that kind of being. I read in-between the lines and people, not the stars." They reply as he hums, looking up still. "Everything alright?" He asks as they hear boots land behind the pair. "Bear?" Hood asks, as they look at him by looking up. "Who's your friend?" He asks, as they look at Phantom. "He's a king. You should know, since you're a knight." They say, as they both look at Bear, then at each other. "What ya mean, Bear?" Hood asks, as Phantom looks sheepish. "This is the Ghost King; Phantom. You are his fright knight, Hood. I know you can feel it." Bear says, getting in his face. "Bear-" Hood says, as they glare at him. "Am I wrong, King Phantom?" They ask, turning to the king. "No, you're not wrong, Bear, but I would've liked to talk to Red Hood just the two of us first." He says as they roll their eyes.
"The Lady would never allow you two to meet by yourselves, so she sent me." They say as Phantom looks at them. "You're a lady-in-waiting." Phantom says, as they shrug. "Could be, could be a knight to the Lady, you don't know." They say, as he looks at them, eyes ectoplasmic green. "You're a psychopomp." He says as they smirk. "Hmm, I sure that's all I am." they say, as hopping up on the ledge. "Play nice boys." They say as they walk on the edge. "Bear..." Hood warns as they smile sheepishly at him. "I can't be here for this, Hood. This is between you and your king." They say as They take a step off the ledge. "Bear!" Both of them shout, as they rise up on my broom. "You're the dummies who thought I was just a psychopomp." They say as they look over their shoulder. "Gotta go find a Bat and a Magician, you two play nice." Bear says, taking off on their broom, cackling like a real witch.
They hover in an ally and float into John and Batman's path. "Bear!" John shouts, as they smile tiredly. "Heya, Johnny boy, fancy meeting you here." They quip, hopping off their broom and putting it behind their head. "Bear?" John asks, seeing as how they weren't floating anymore. "I'm alright." Bear says, feeling Batman watching them. "So where are we having this meeting?" Bear asks as John looks at Batman who grunts a little. "The Batcave." Batman says as Bear nods. "Good place, it keeps everything out. Gotham legend and all still standing." Bear says as they start to float again. "What do you mean Bear?" John asks as Bear smirks. "Thomas Wayne was a paranoid bastard who built essentially a bunker in a cave that is protected against everything, no magic can penetrate it." Bear says, as the four make their way to the Batmobile. "Thomas Wayne?" Robin asks as Bear hums. "Why would he know of the bat cave?" Robin asks as Bear rolls their eyes. "A mask can hide your face but not your souls." Bear says as Batman grunts from the front seat. "Eh, whatever, not like I care about who you lot are, long as ya leave me alone when I tell ya to." Bear says, shrugging as they pull into the Batcave.
"Bear?" John asks, as Bear stops following, looking at the ghosts of an angry young man. "Hello?" Bear asks, as they glare at them. "Psychopomp." He hisses as Bear nods. "Yes, I am, but only on special occasions, I am here on business with Batman and John Constantine, I am not here to exorcise this cave or this home." Bear says as the man's eyes go to Batman for a second. "You may call me Bear, if you'd like." Bear says as the man quickly turns back to them. "My name was Andrio Wayne." Andrio says as Bear nods. "A lovely name, is there anything you need me to tell them?" Bear asks, as Batman and John have stopped and stared this whole time. "No." Andrio says as Bear nods. "Do not fret, this home is protected by others who would wish to do spiritual harm to its occupants, those living in it in all forms." Bear says softly, as Andrio nods once again. "Tell the magician smoking is only allowed outside. The little one has Asthma." Andrio says as Bear nods. "He knows not to smoke around me, but I'll be sure to keep an extra eye on him." Bear says, as Andrio walks to the elevator.
"Bear?" John asks, as Bear hums, smiling. "Batsy you've got a haunted house." They say, eyes roaming the cave, landing on the memorial. "What the fuck is that?" Bear shouts floating closer to it, but staying about five feet back at the same time. "One of my sons, he-" "Died, I know." Bear growls, as John walks up to them. "Bear?" John asks, as Bear glares at Batman. "No wonder why he's so angry." Bear says, glaring at the 'memorial.' "You speak as if you know my son." Batman says as Bear looks up at him. "He needs you to take this down, now." Bear growls out, as they spy Andrio smirking from his corner of the cave. "What do you mean?" Batman asks as Bear looks to John who shrugs. "Jason's been the only Robin to die and stay dead for a bit while still wearing the suit, right?" Bear speaks slowly as if talking to a second grader. "Yes he came back, but not for a few years, right?" They continue as Bats nods again. "So, he's a failure as a Robin, since he's the only one that got himself killed, or at least that's how he sees it, so how do you think he feels seeing this... display of his failure?" Bear finishes as Batman stares at it. "But it wasn't his failure, it wasn't his fault, it was mine, I, I didn't get there in time, I didn't stop him from leaving in the first place. This isn't on Jason, this is on me, it's my failure, my fault, not his." Batman says, sounding like a scared parent, as Bear sighs, and touches down on the ground. "Have you ever explained that to him? Have you two ever actually sat down and talked about it?" Bear asks softly, no longer placating a child, but consoling a grieving parent.
"No, we, we haven't, and I can't say anything right now that won't sound like an excuse." Batman says as Bear hums. "That's alright, this is a safe space, say what you're thinking, I promise no one here will use it against you." Bear says, sending a glare at John, who gulps. "When Jason came back, Tim's parents had just been killed, and he wasn't doing well after the Joker Jr. incident, so I sent him to the titans, I thought that he needed time away from this city and her problems, and I was focusing on him, and trying to do better then when Tim found me. He was so strong for a man who didn't want anyone to help him, too strong perhaps, and too independent, too. I was so focused on the new crime lord rising up in Gotham, I didn't bother asking why he was targeting me specifically, or my family." He says as Bear hums. "I see, would you like to have that sit down conversation with your son in a space where neither one of you have really an emotional connection to?" Bear asks, as Batman looks at them, and nods. "I would very much be open to that, but I don't know if Jason is ready for that, and I don't want to push him away again." Batman says as Bear gives a wicked grin. "Oh don't you worry Batsy, Jason owes me a favor." Bear says as John shivers. "Anyways, shall we get back on track with what you called John into the city for?" Bear asks, as the three of them go to a meeting table.
Tw: strong language, character death, talk about death, ghosts, alcohol use, smoking, gore, violence, yk this has John Constantine in it, so prepare for him I guess, um, lmk if I need to add any or if you'd like to be tagged.
This is a story about a young magician coming into their own. Sure it may not have been what Bear thought life was gonna be like, but they were having fun helping all the magical folk the mundane couldn't decipher. They also liked having favors in their back pocket, maybe they were more fae than human now, but it's not like they cared one way or another. Especially not when Gotham herself asks them to keep an eye on the new Ghost King, who just so happened to take up shop in her bowery. This was shaping up to be a wild start to the fall season. Though Bear does hope to be done by Samhain, after all, they're very busy on All Hallow's Eve, what with them also being a sort of psychopomp.
The door to the shop jungles, as Danny smiles and walks out from the curtain of beads. He sees a young kid who looks like Merida from brave but with Brown hair. "Hello? How may I help you?" He asks, accidentally causing them to jump a little. "I'm looking for someone." They says, no mumbles, like they were in a daze. "Aren't we all?" Danny asks, trying to lighten the mood. "No, they're called King Phantom." They say as he freezes. "Who are you?" He asks, as she meets his eyes. "You may call me Bear. I'm here on behalf of the Lady." Bear says, as Danny looks at them. "A psychopomp in Gotham? Must be busy." Danny says handing the young psychopomp a mug of hot chocolate. "I'm much more than a psychopomp, Your Majesty." They say, setting the mug down. "The Lady would like for you to introduce yourself to one of her knights." Bear says, as Danny looks them up and down. "How old are you, Bear?" He asks, even though they look like they're 16, it could be more, could be less, you never could quite know when dealing with the occult. "Your majesty, you should know it is rude to ask such a thing." Bear replies, as he gives an unimpressed look to them. "But if you must know, I'm 13." Bear says, as he sighs and leans up against his counter.
"Thirteen? And making deals with the dead." Danny sighs as they smile sadly. "You should know age doesn't mean a thing to death." They say as he nods. "That's fair. So which one of the Lady's knights am I trying to meet?" Danny asks, as Bear picks up their mug and taps the sides. "You know which knight she'd like you to meet." Bear says as he sighs again. "I was hoping to avoid him at all costs." He tries to joke, receiving a rather unimpressed look. "Right, I suppose the enviable can't wait." He says as Bear just nods. "Exactly, your majesty." They say as he just sighs. "Bear, get out of this life while you can." Danny advises as they shrug. "Kinda hard to get out of what you were born to do, Phantom." Bear says as Danny shrugs, knowing they were right. Bear tilts their head like they're listening to something. "The bats may have an inkling you've set up shop here, Your Majesty." Bear says, eyes lighting up. "They've called in a laughing Magician." Bear says, giggling as they eat a little crumb of magic, licking their lips. "Damn it, John." Danny says, as Bear waves their hand. "If you've worked with him, you know him, you know he won't tell them anything useful, he doesn't like Batsy much either." Bear says as they giggle again. "Gotta go, King, duty calls."
Bear smiles as they walk out onto the street, perfectly into John Constantine. "Bear? Where the bloody hell did you come from?" John asks, looking behind them. "Eh, you know, here, there." Bear says with a shrug as John just shakes his head. "Why ya here?" Bear asks, floating along behind John like his own personal pixie. "I think you know, I think one of 'em told you." He says, referring to the people who haunt his sorry ass. "Eh, you're not, not wrong. They pry didn't mean to tell me you were in town. I just noticed some new souls around." Bear says, eyeing John's shades. "Yeah, well, they can all bugger off." John says as Bear rolls their eyes. "And will you quit floating like that? Tall dark and brooding might catch you." John says as Bear lands, gasping as they do. "John, you do care." Bear says, as John rolls his eyes. "No I just don't wanna have to explain anymore to him." He says as Bear giggles. "Do you have a plan for what you're going to tell the knight?" Bear asks, as John spots a little cafe. "Let's get some food." John says, guiding the young witch into the cafe. "John you do have a plan, right?" Bear asks, as they tilt their head again. "Oi, don't tell 'em anything." John says, turning directly to one of his shades, who rolls their eyes as Bear is all giggles.
"It's okay, John." Bear says, as the pair sits down. "How are things?" Bear asks, as the waitress brings them each a cup of coffee and John opens a flask to pour some whiskey in his. "John." Bear says before he actually pours some in. "Fine." He says, putting the flask away. "So your plan?" Bear asks as John sighs. "I'm going to see what they think they know, and set them down a path likely to steer them away from His Majesty." John says as I nod. "Okay, uh, when?" Bear asks, as bright headlights come down the street and parks. "Tall dark and Brooding, at three o'clock." John says as Bear sighs. "Didn't wanna meet him right now." Bear says, sipping their coffee. "You can probably still avoid him." John says as Bear shrugs. "Eh, I need one of his sons soon anyway." Bear says with a shrug. "John, who's this?" Batman asks, as Bear smiles. "You may call me Bear, Batman." Bear says, as Batman looks to John. "They're an acquaintance of mine." John supplies as Bear hums, watching as the shades hug close to Batman. "What are you looking at?" another voice asks, as Bear blinks and see Robin. "Oh, nothing to worry about." Bear says, as Robin scowls. "Bear?" John asks, as they go rigid. "I have to go." Bear says, getting out of the booth. "John don't skip town before chatting with me." Bear says, running to the spot the Lady called them to be.
Hello lovelies! I have returned with a new au! It is Danny phantom x dc; mainly the bat family, but it is centered around my magician oc; Bear, who just so happens to be based in Gotham, at least for the time being, anyways. John Constantine also makes an appearance.
Now I am in the middle of reading all of Hellblazer, starting with the 1988 version, so I'm apologizing right now if he seems a little ooc, sorry if anyone's ooc; this is fanfic and a lot of these characters and what I know about them are from fandom, so take that with a grain of salt.
surprise! I know I said Fridays and Mondays, but I got this done early and was too excited not to share! Alrighty you all voted and The Gothamites won! so here's the next part of it all, under the cut is the "Video" transcript if you are interested at all, I hope you like it, and if you have any questions or things you'd like to see from our lovely gang here, please let me know

Q&A Transcripts
The video opens to giggles of five people
“Hi, I’m Bear-” a smooth higher voice says, breaking into giggles “God its been forever, chat.” Bear says
“You can say that again, babe, I’m Crow, by the way” A gruffer voice says, also chuckling
“Right introduction time for the newbies, its me, ya boy, Bunny” A voice described as groovy says
“Surely they know our voices by now, they’ve stalked our dead friends' youtube channel of our memories.” A trans-atlantic accented higher voice says.
“Just do it, Kitty-” Bear says as a small slap of skin can be heard
“Fine, I’m Kitty, she/her” Kitty finally introduces herself; gasps can be heard and a tiny shit pronouns can be heard from one of the others.
“That just leaves me, which I guess you can assume I’m Ducky, They/Them, to speed run this real quick, Bear uses all pronouns does not matter as long as it’s respectful, Crow uses he/him, Bunny He/him, now lets start answering questions!” - a very fast talker/thick jersey accent middle pitched voice says
then a cheesy youtube intro plays
“Okay Question 1, from Felicity @Lightningbugs I saw the new profilepics and names for you guys, who made them/what made you change?” Bear
“Oh, uh okay, so my original at was catching hands while my display name was crow, when Raven, when my twin sister Raven passed, hearing the name crow was too hard, and I had been made the gotham knight's first string catcher, so my at became my display name and my at became GKCjimmy, which is part of my actual name” Crow
“Meanwhile, I finally got around to finishing mine, Bunny’s and Crow’s piccrews.” Ducky
“Okay, next one: from @dragonfireheart who the hell is Raven?” Bear reads sucking in air through their teeth
“Raven-” Kitty says dreamily
“Man where to start with the best girlfriend ever” Bunny
“As stated, she was my twin sister.” Crow
“An easier question would’ve been how we all meet-” Ducky says sarcastically, chuckling.
“Luckily for you, that was the next one, you mind reader.” Bear says, as the friends laugh
“I do think we need to switch those two, then.” Kitty says as the rest hum or give some form of agreement
“Okay, so thank you @Mystic_Realm, so guys, how did we meet?” Bear asks, taking a drink of something
“Well, you hit me in the head with a baseball.” Crow says as everyone but Bear laughs
“Well if you start there it sounds bad.” Bear grumbles “You need to start with you and Raven were at the baseball field in Ottisburg, and so was I, and for those asking, Raven was Crow’s twin; anyway. The field was doing a carnival to raise money, and there was the classic knock down the glass bottles with a baseball, and I was scammed out of my five dollars to throw a ball three times, and the last throw I had bounced so god damn bad, it went flying behind me and hit a random boy.” Bear says, going increasingly fast by the end.
“I was that random boy.” Crow says, giggling. “And after that Bear fucking stomps over to me and Raven and says, through gritted teeth mind you, ‘I’m sorry, i’m trying to win this fucking bear to complete my collection.’ Anyways, I look at the ball that hit me, the bottles, and Bear, and nod.” Crow says, impersonating Bear terribly.
“Chat, chat I need you to know this, this is vital to the story. This man I had just hit, in the eye, with a baseball, takes the ball, looks around nods, and then throws the ball, knocking over the bottles that had just fucked me.” Bear says as the others are giggling.
“And then Raven says, well to repay my very kind brother, you should go on a date with him. And the rest is history, between Raven, Bear and I.” Crow
“Meanwhile, Ducky and I grew up in Gotham Village together, they taught me how to braid hair and do makeup, and dress shopping.” Bunny says as there’s a clink of glasses
“Its true, and I took you bra shopping with me, too.” Ducky says as theres some background murmuring
“Yeah, and I met Ducky at an art competition I was covering for my highschools newspaper, Bunny was also there, supporting Ducky, I found him kinda cute at the time, and we hit it off, so I invited him to a party.” Kitty says as Bunny hums
“And that party was where we met Raven, and we ended up talking all night long. Turned out we were all polyamorous, and single, so that night I gained two awesome girlfriends.” Bunny says, sadly at the end
“And then it was the twin’s birthday and we all met at their party and just became really close.” Bear finishes as they all agree
“I hope that also answered who Raven was.” Ducky says as the hum
“I’m sure it did. Ooh, heres a fun one; to whoever made the profilepics, Ducky, why does Raven, Crow, Ducky and Kitty have weird colored eyes, thanks @mermaidlament” Kitty
“Well, those are our actual eye colors, see I have Uveitis, a thing when the uvea—a layer within the eye—becomes inflamed, causing the iris to look purple, its genetic condition, I do not wear contacts, nor can I, my vision is shit.” Ducky
“Raven and I have a form of albinism that only effected our irises, also a genetic condition, I just suffer the consequences.” Crow
“I have really dark brown eyes that look black, I blame my parents, got a lot of weird looks as a kid, even got called demon a couple of times due to them, it was not fun.” Kitty
“Hey, how long are we making this thing?” Bunny
“I don’t know, how long we been recording?” Bear
“Forty five minutes?” Bunny says
“Lets do two more questions and see where it takes us” Crow
“Are you going to do more vlogs? Yes, for this Q&A we chose not to show our faces since its our first video back, and we all got nervous and decided day drinking would help. And sometimes we’ll even do sit down videos, too, and more Q&As, Raven had a whole journal full of ideas I gotta dig out of storage, but we will be doing whatever we want whenever we want” Bear
“Also, I may not show my face again, in the last three years, i’ve really hated having my face online, so I may not show my face but still be in the videos, because our videos have and always have been about us making memories first, and the viewers second, so sorry if our editing sucks, its to our humor and what we love so shut up” Ducky
“What they said, okay, last question…….. Heh this ones funny @bananahoney are the animal names nicknames if so can you explain?” Kitty
“No, we won’t be explaining our nicknames, they’re ours, they’re personal, so no. And no we are not furries.” Crow
“Here’s an actual good question to end on; @sugarfairystars how are the pets doing? Seeing as I am the only one without a pet, please, enlighten me.” Crow
“Goose is doing great since its the rainy season” Bear
“Splinter and Secret have been getting along better now” Kitty
“Yeah, and both are litter box trained now, which is great” Bunny
“Trever is doing so well, I just made him some fairy wings for some springtime pictures” Ducky
“And thats that, folks, our first video back, and we are back baby!” Bear, giggling as the video fades to black and cheesy youtube outro music plays

Alrighty, here's a part from my Gothamites socmedau, I honestly can't remember where I was going with this, but from what I found in my notes, there's a group of goth girls from the different DC cities and are friends on twitter and Ducky follows all of them; that's it, that's all my notes left me.
Anyways we can all thank @garpen for giving me inspiration to start this back up again; if you haven't read their socmedau you absolutely should I love it so much.
"Hey check it out, only a couple days back, and the Wyane Family News account is already trying to inform people about ya, Lynx." Jason says, as the two are making their way into his apartment. "Damn, bitch you live like this?" Lennox asks, as they walk around the apartment. "Excuse me, I'm cooking you food." He says as they smile at each other. "Missed ya, Lynx." he says as they hug. "Bengal, I lova ya, but there are bullet holes in your bathroom."
"Get better decore, then." Lynx says, as the two chuckle. "So, what's this plan of yours for after school, Lynx?" Jason asks, as he gets out the ingredients for some spaghetti and garlic bread. "Well, you know that I'm triple majoring and double minoring, right?" Lennox asks as Jason nods. "Yeah, yeah, I get it, your like a super genius, I remember." He says as they roll their eyes. "Yeah, well, this super genius is gonna help kids who are from the alley." Lennox says as they help grease the pan for the garlic bread. "I'm starting a non-profit under the Martha Wayne Foundation to help impoverished parts of the city get theatre and literature. I wanna start theatre camps for kids and adults, and I'm gonna get some 'shops' set up where everyone can come in and read or do some studying or writing and even have ope mic nights." Lennox says as Jason nods. "That sounds nice, can I do anything to help?" He asks, as Lennox smiles. "You could volunteer sometimes, do some reading for the kids, or protection for the open mics." Lennox says as he nods. The oven's beeping brings them back to making dinner.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Kyo, you liking Gotham's weather? Reminding you of home?" Lennox asks, petting Kyo's head. He purs in response, as Lennox looks out the window. They jump back a little at the ghosts and shades. "Yeah, i'm liking Gotham, too." They whisper, as they take a picture of Kyo. Maybe the ghosts will leave them alone; then again some of Jonny's luck has rubbed off over the years. And people say Gotham is cursed.
Yeah, Lennox was used to rainy days in London, so the rin aspect didn't bug 'em, but with the rain came a lot more spirits, and those were different between London and Gotham. For one thing most of London spirits were a little polite, they left Lennox alone when it was raining, but Gotham spirits, well, there's a reason there's not a whole lot of clairvoyants in Gotham. "Mreow?" Kyo mews as Lennox stands up. "Need some alone time, Kyo." Lennox says, as they leave their phone on the bed.
"Forget something?" Dick asks, as he climbs up on the roof, as Lennox jumps a little. "Kyo knew where I was." Lennox snips, as Dick scoffs. "Kyo is a cat, Nox, no one can talk to him!" Dick shouts as Lennox looks away. "Okay, sorry, I know, I'm not Jason, but you can talk to me, you know? That's what older brothers are for." He says, sitting next to Lennox, as they sit up. "Sorry, it's just that, I uh." The sentence dies is Lennox's throat. Everything they could say right now just sounded like an excuse, or empty and hollow.
"Yeah, I get it." Dick sighs, as he looks at the roof tiles and Lennox looks up at the sky. "I'm sorry you got sent away, sorry I didn't reach out more." Dick says, as the silent tears mix with the rain on Lennox's face. "Yeah well, I wasn't a peach to be around, so I don't blame bruce for sending me away. And as for you reaching out; I had a phone too." Lennox says, as they finally look at Dick. "I brought you something." Dick says as Lennox tilts their head as Dick brings out their phone. "Do me a favor, text Jay, he's worried about you." Dick says as Lennox nods.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"This sounded like a liquor kinda conversation, but I don't know what you like, so I got us a whole lot." Jason says as Lonnox lets themself in. "I'm a rum and diet coke bitch." Lennox says as Jason nods. "Good to know." Jay says, fixing their drink. "So, what's eating ya?" Jason asks, sitting down. "Gotham's cursed." They whisper, as jason's mid-sip. "Shit, your powers." Jason says, setting down his glass. "Yeah, um, so about those." Lennox starts, rubbing the back of their neck. "They're uh, magical in nature." Lennox says, as Jason tilts his head, then his eyes widen. "You live in Constantine's backyard." He says as they nod. "Yeah, yeah, I do." Lennox says as Jason shakes his head. "You know even I couldn't get him to teach me magic, no matter how many times I asked, it was always magic comes with a heavy price." The twins say together. "Yeah, I know, it was the first thing he said when I called him about my gifts, but then I told him I was seeing darker shit in my school's faculty lounge then I ever did in Gotham." Lennox says, taking a sip. "That got his attention. Apparently, no one told him I could see shit that goes bump in the night." Lennox says, downing the last of their drink.
"Yeah, don't think we ever told Bruce either." Jason says, as Lennox nods. "We didn't wanna tell him, cause I saw his dead mother and father hanging around the manner along with a couple other Waynes." Lennox says as he nods. "Right, I remember, you, you wouldn't sleep in your room by yourself." Jason says as they nod. "Yeah, well, you try sleeping when a ghost jazz singer keeps singing to you." Lennox says as Jason shrugs. "So you called Uncle John, and he agreed to help ya." Jason surmises as Lennox nods. "Yeah, and well, in order to learn from Uncle Johnny, ya kinda have to go along with him." Lennox says as Jason nods. "What'd you use?" Jason asks, as Lennox smirks. "Lark." Lennox answers, as Jason nods. Before the drinks became to heavy, Jason pulls out his phone.
"Kyo, I think this final is gonna drive me insane." Lennox says to her cat, who looked at them and then just bit their laptop. "I know, you don't like it either." Lennox says as they get their phone out for a picture. They quickly took to Insta, but just shook their head.
Jason was right only 3 more days until Kyo and them were on a plane to Gotham City, New Jersey. They couldn't wait. Last time they had seen Jay, he hadn't died. When he did die, Bruce hadn't known what to do with Lennox so he shipped them off to boarding school in London, England. Yeah, that hadn't been a fun time for anyone. Dick had reached out several times, but it had turned into more of an annoyance than a help.
And when Jay did return to the land of the living, and re-joined the family, Lennox had also changed. They had always been able to see shades and ghosts, but when they moved to London, it had gotten worse, and this side of the pond the best person they could call was John Constantine. That had been a fun phone call.
"No way kid, I am not teaching you magic, I didn't even teach your brother, I ain't teaching you." John had said on the phone, but then they'd replied with; "Uncle Johnny, please, I keep seeing shit in the teacher's lounges. I need help." Who knew Johnathon Constantine, Hellblazer, Laughing Magician, Conman had a weak spot for kids who had supernatural gifts.
Lennox shook their head, thinking about the past was not going to help them study for their last final, or help them pack for summer. Luckily they didn't have to pack up the whole flat, Bruce had bought it for them. Nah, they were just heading to Gotham for the summer, before they came back for their senior year of college. Sure they were graduating early, but they had a plan for after school. They we're gonna help run the Bengel & Lynx foundation, a subject of the Martha Wayne Foundation that helped impoverished areas get help for local theatres and libraries. It's why they were triple majoring in Theatre, English, and business, while also minoring in art and history. Or They will once they pass these finals then two more semesters.
Lennox was checking everything to make sure they had everything. Kyo was already in his little bag ready for the flight. He was so cute and ready. They took a picture. They couldn't help it, their Instagram page was practically dedicated to Kyo, at this point they really should just make it his page, but then all the press would get uppity. The only bad thing about having Wayne attached to Pierce was the press.
Lennox laughed. They had met Steph when she, Duke, and Cas had come over to London with Tim on a business trip. Or at least that was the official public story. The real reason was Spoiler, Orphan, and Signal had a joint case. It was still a fun trip where Lennox had gotten to meet their older sister and younger brother and pseudo sister.
Lennox took a cab to the airport, just because their family had money doesn't mean they needed to use the private jet. As soon as they were through security and on the plane, they could finally relax. They pulled out an old warn copy of Treasure Island, a comfort story.
Lennox liked Jay's, duke's and Tim's tweets as they picked up their bags, and looked around for Jason. They heard a loud engine and saw a pretty badass bike show up. They driver skided into park, got off and held up a sign. Lennox couldn't help but cackle as they read it. In Jason's chicken scratch blown up were the word's "Welcome Home, Lynx!" They loved and missed their twin so much. They couldn't help it when they ran into his arms. "Bengal!" They shrieked as hepicked them up, careful of Kyo, and spun them around. "I missed you so much, Lynx." He whispers as the two just stand in one another's presence. "By the way, do you know how to ride a bike?" Jay asks, grabbing their bags. They chuckle. "Yeah, Bengal, I know how to ride a bike; Dickie made sure of it." So did working with Cinstantine, made for quick getaways. Lennox adds in their head. "Right." He says, handing them a spare helmet.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"You totally forgot Bruce had all of us on twitter, didn't you?" Lennox asks, Jay, Dick and them are in the family room. "I tried getting him to stop, but he was being Jason." Dick whines, as three of the oldest Waynes sigh. "How long you think we got?" Lennox asks, as Dick looks at his watch. "Well, Bruce tweeted that 30 seconds ago, so I think we got probably-" "Twins! Dick! Study now!" "Now, we got until now." Dick sighs, getting up. On the way there they passed by the others, who were snickering. They weren't in trouble.
"You three wanna tell me something?" Bruce asks, as the three kids rock back and forth on their toes. "I'm graduating next winter?" Lennox tries, as the three men stare at Lennox. "You have been working hard huh?" Jay asks as they shrug. "Got myself a plan Bengal, and Tim's been helping me get a jump start." Lennox says, as Bruce nods. "I wanna hear when we're done here, Lynx." Jay says as Lennox nods. "
Yes, well, firstly I wanna know how old you all were." Bruce says as Lennox smiles. "Well, Bengal and I weren't here that's for sure." Lennox says as Jay turns wide eyed. "What are you doing?" He hisses as Lennox just smiles. "What?" Bruce asks, as Lennox nods. "Yeah, it's what happens when you grow up in the Alley, cigs are just apart of the ambiance. So yeah, Jay bought us our first pack three days before you picked us up, we we're celebrating that we had gotten ourselves a job." Lennox says as Bruce stiffens up, just like Lennox knew he would. Bruce doesn't like to be reminded of how hard some of his kids have had it. They walk out of the study, and all their siblings are staring. "Check Twitter." Is all Dick says
Yes this is another new batfam smau I need to spice things up sometimes leave everyone on their toes (PS if you saw this earlier no you didn't)
Okay so this one may be harder to track a little. So a couple of internet trolls realized that Bear’s friend Kitty and Bunny never tweeted happy birthday on their birthday, this part explains that due to past experiences Halloween is not their favorite holiday and unfortunately it happens to be Bear’s birthday.
Hey yall heh, sorry time is a weird soup and a lot of shit happened to me.
