Reed let Tony talk about himself. He'd bye lying if he said he wasn't interested. 'Poor Tony', Reed thought. Being stuck in a place so close-minded like this was definitely a sort of hell for some, and especially for a bright young mind like Tony. He could see that within Tony and the way he talked about everything here. The teacher nodded, in acceptance that his own childhood was so similar and he could relate. Apart from the forceful father figure, Reed and Tony were alike. Reed made it through Tony's spiel, without a peep. He assumed Tony just needed to get a word out. It was understandable and Reed wanted to be there for Tony, because it seemed that he just wanted somebody to listen to him and to care. Something was forming here; a friendship you might say, something that was so unfamiliar with the scientist.
After Tony asked the seemingly unimaginable question, the words echoed through Reed's head. Of course, he had heard all the rumors, especially about himself. Some were absurd and others, they were scarily accurate, like this one. This made Reed curious about the root of this rumor; who started it and how did they find out? It's not like he used his ability with much effect. After a short silence came between the two, Reed tried to relieve the tension. He chuckled off puttingly, at himself mostly, but decided if Tony was being honest, he should be honest too. "I'm... going to tell you the truth Tony," Reed started and looked into Tony's eyes. "I'm not entirely sure to what extent, but yes, I can stretch in latent terms. It's more like the molecules in my body have been completely manipulated to form entirely new flexible molecules. My composition is different, though it doesn't look any different, until of course the flexibility is activated."
Tony listened with keen curiosity, tilting his head from side to side as the teacher spoke; a small smirk grew across his lips as the foundation of the rumour was in fact true, and he wondered how many others had witnessed it in effect. After all, someone must have seen something - why else was there such crude yet miniature graffiti in the men's restrooms calling him out? "Molecules..." the young genius echoed as his eyes wandered up towards the wall as his mind quickly set into motion. "...in order for the extended movement of molecules, that would mean that your body's frequency of molecular vibration is elevated compared to the average person. But in order to even do that, your body would need extra energy. I mean, how else would that account for the increased entropy?"
The boy found himself approaching the whiteboard and grabbing a hold of the pen which was perched nearby; careful not to touch Dr. Richard's equations, he moved himself to a small blank segment and began jotting down some calculations of his own. "Your core body temperature should be higher but," he turned back to the man and gave him a quick glance up and down, "you don't appear to be burning up at all. This completely throws off the Carnot Cycle. I mean, either you're using up that energy so fast that your body stays in a consistent normal state, or you're body has developed a method of efficiently dealing with the energy internally so that your extremities aren't affected..." Tapping the tip of the pen against his lip as he engrossed himself in thought, the boy hummed as the figures almost danced before his eyes; he was enjoying this - the opportunity to think and experiment outside of the confines of his workshop, as well as the mediocre and apparently 'advanced' classes that he took which didn't push him nearly enough. A dimpled smile formed as he turned towards Reed once gain. "Would it be outta line if I asked for a demo?"
