Headcannon that money isn’t BV’s only motivation for crashing. It’s the biggest one yes but he also has severe mental health problems he’s repressing which leads to him having little to no regards for his own safety.
He charges for crashes because he desperately needs the cash(his ‘species’ is obsolete after all) but he does it to feel something. He’s kinda gotten himself addicted to the adrenaline rush of it.
