What is Stargate about?
I am only just now sinking my teeth into the glory that is Stargate SG-1 (I have no excuses for not watching it when it aired), but I was a goner within about three minutes of the first episode. It's a television series that continues the 1994 movie Stargate that stars Kurt Russell (which I also have not seen).
I am sure there are fans who could give it a MUCH better synopsis than I can, as I am only in season 2 out of 10, but the gist of it is, a team of loveable nerds essentially declare themselves to be soulmate-level found family after knowing each other for about eight minutes, and get sent by the military to go explore strange, new worlds via Stargates, aka, wormhole portals. Shenanigans happen.
If you are not a 90s sci-fi person like myself you may have some adjusting to do for the first couple of seasons, but I am fucking in love with this show to the point I have been all caps yelling about it on Discord and leaving people like @dearophelia about 100 notifications to wake up to. :D
Stargate is what happens when you take two deeply broken men, a former bad guy who speaks mostly in Eyebrow, and one very very smart woman, ask them to save the galaxy, and put the Nintendo Mii music over it.
