10 Dance Movie

Anyone who knows me irl knows that I can't shut up about the 10 Dance movie, but I'm so happy it's finally out. This manga has changed my life in more ways than the author will ever know and I've loved and followed these characters for so long it's become a natural part of my life. It was with me throughout the pandemic, half of high school, and now almost all of college. Of course I know this manga isn't perfect but I love it with all my heart.

And now the movie is going to introduce the Shinyas to a lot more people, I hope they'll love it as much as I do. I'm also extra sensitive about any criticisms since it's so personal to me. It feels so scary as a fan to see this work being handed off to a team of new people to work on the adaptation, so I can't imagine what it's like for the creator herself. But seeing Machida and Takeuchi give so much to this story and this adaptation, I want to believe that Inoue's vision can be translated into a live action medium.

It's another 12 hours or so before the movie comes out, and whether I end up liking it or hating it, it will remain a work close to my heart and if this gets more people to appreciate the manga, I'll be happy.

Celebrating a JBL/JQL Content King, Machida Keita:

I’m spiraling on 10Dance content at the moment, but I just want to give Machida homeslice his due, because he’s been in three (THREE) big queer pieces (although let me certainly mention repeatedly legendary dudes like Izuka Kenta, Takezai Terunozuke, Kyoya Honda, and many others, who often have guest appearances and/or support roles in queer shows).

But I’m celebrating Machida for his three leading roles in:

2018’s Joshi Teki Seikatsu (Life as a Girl) (y’all need to watch this if you haven’t, it was the first time Machida acted with Shison Jun and it is such an unexpectedly impactful and exploratory show)

This guy has only gotten more and more popular in Japan throughout his career (Alice in Borderland, Glass Heart, and so, so many television doramas), but he’s not afraid to continue to explore more queer content throughout his career. Give this man a crown, dang it!

I watched joshi teki seikatsu last year to explore Machida's past works (in preparation for 10 Dance) and that was one of my favorites! Such a refreshing take on life as a trans person (coming from a trans man), it doesn't rely on offensive tropes and just tells the story of the life of a woman. Probably because it was based on the writings of an actual trans woman, so I was very happy this exists, even more so that Machida was involved in this project so long ago. Def recommend!

So, years back I had a friend, and we used to talk every day until one day she just disappeared and I never heard from her again. For the longest time I just assumed it was something I did,and then after countless attempts to contact her through other means (email, messenger) and receiving no response, I gave up. Honestly started to wonder if she just passed away (because there would be no way of me knowing since we live in different countries).

Today, out of the blue, I decided to go check out her Tumblr (at least the last URL I knew to be hers) because it had been a while and I wondered if she was still M.I.A there as well. As it turns out, she did post something months ago.. so she's alive. It's good to hear that, it is, but also… now I'm 100% convinced she just stopped talking to me because of something I said or did or simply because she wanted nothing to do with me anymore.. and that.. hurts. Hurts quite a bit more than I though it would.

It's been a while since I've been on Tumblr (I've been writing a lot more lately, trying to build up a YT channel where I write stories—I'm at 305 subs at the moment—and I started back in March. Not bad, I guess). I do have a ton of things I still would like to GIF but I've just been so busy with work and when I'm not doing that I just have no desire to do the things I used to enjoy. :/ I would like to get back here and make some more GIFsets though. Hopefully I can find some time to at least force myself to make some sets for y'all.. if there is anyone still here. <3

For those of you who don't know, I have loved writing since I was a kid. Since early January I got it in my head that I wanted to attempt putting together a story I could post episodes/chapters of on YouTube after seeing many other channels doing something similar.

I don't expect to get much attention, so I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only episode I ever end up writing, but I wanted to at least see through giving this a shot. After countless rewrites and startovers I have finally posted the first part of this series(?).

It would mean a lot to me if you would pop over there and watch it and let me know what you think in the comments. I put a lot of work into it. xD Please take it easy on me though. It has been YEARS since I've written anything so I'm a little rusty.

now that I got he appreciation post out of the way I’ll yap about what I loved the most about this whole scene because was a fucking masterpiece.

1. He looks fucked out and I’m going insane. His heavy breathing was blasting through my headphones and, although that is something that usually annoys me during these scenes, it was done carefully and tastefully. It felt natural and real, not overplayed, not overkilled, but raw and perfectly genuine.

2. Anyone else devastated by the absolute adorableness of this moment? Just me? This was such a cute short thing that casts light into their relationship. They’re both actually very carefree people, always have been, even if Jack had a hard time coming back to his true self. This moment felt so intimate and relaxed. From trying to make the other submit, playfully and sensually, they both pause here and quickly take a breather to gauge each other and decide how is this going to happen before Jack takes the lead again. These are truly Jack and Joke.

3. Wall slamming. It’s one of the cliches I absolutely devour. Ever since episode 1 I knew they would be the kind to do this. I knew their NC would be like this. They want each other too much, they’re gonna take and take and take.

4. No awkward stripping. Just desperate. The moment characters strip have always felt so unnatural for me. This was done hastily and they stumble and it doesn’t look pretty because it shouldn’t. They have wanted each other for too long for them to wait another second in getting themselves naked. Joke is so desperate he struggles with taking Jack’s shirt off and he doesn’t care nor slows down. It adds on the realness of it all.

5. More wall slamming. Dear god I’m unwell. No further words.

6. He was stupid hot for this. They are possessed. As they should be. There’s tenderness and roughness at the same time in their movements and touches, casting light on the fact they love each other but are desperately hungry for each other’s body. They never let you forget that, not once.

7. Did you hear my screams? I was not expecting that. What I’ve seen happen many times on BL NC scenes, is that there is a high contrast done in between the couple when it comes to portraying desire. Usually it’s only one of them that is more vocal or physical about it, while the other takes it and follows. Yin and War have mentioned they don’t want their characters to stick to one dynamic, and it shows a lot in this whole scene. They both are perfectly capable of taking the lead, they both want to take the lead, they both want to submit. They are equals. And that’s always gonna be that way.

The power play, the switching, the rolling in the sheets, the CONSENT, the loving looks, the gentle touches, the rough touches, the pauses, the desperation, the desire.

they did it all. not one single thing missing.

they deserve nothing less than a standing ovation.
