Hi there. I hope your day is going well <3. You can call me Stella or Starry/Star. I like to write silly things about silly fictional characters over on the wondrous Archive Of Our Own. People seem to like it, so I figured I can have a place for people who really like it to hang out :)
Quick PSA for the POW Creations / PanSMP fandom because I unfortunately do need to make this post.
Hello-hello! Iām Krash, I am half-Greek IRL. My dadās side of the family is from Greece and Cyprus, and I live in America. I tend to avoid Greek mythology spaces online such as the PJ and Epic fandom because people are veryā¦ I hesitate to say racist, but very abnormal about how they interact with the Greek mythos, ethnicity, and overall culture. Unfortunately, the PanSMP community is starting to follow in that trend (and the server isn't even out yet, mind you).
Onto the point of this post- if you yourself are not Greek, it is not your place to be upset or offended by portrayals of the gods or myths- this is INCLUDING non-Greek people that converted to Hellenic Polytheism and well-read fans of the mythology.
People in these spaces tend to forget that this is a real culture that belongs to a real people, and that we are still around. Greek myths are still Greek, regardless of if the modern culture is identical to the ancient one or not. The modern culture is more centered on Eastern Orthodoxy, but the ancient culture and stories are very much still relevant! Modern Greeks (in my experience) generally treat the mythos more as folklore, but it is still something that holds a lot of our pride and ethnic identity- them being stories that survived for as long as they did.
It can be very upsetting seeing our old myths / gods taken entirely outside of their cultural context; non-Greeks policing what is or is not an āauthenticā portrayal of them while erasing Greek features, mocking Greek names (ātelemarketerā and āantibioticsā being recent examples), sexualizing the ancient clothing (often using SWANA and SEA aesthetics to do so), and using Hellenic Polytheism (the modern revival of the old religion) to claim a heritage that isnāt theirs and then use this to erase / talk over modern Greeks.
So far the PanSMP space has only had the āpolicing authenticityā part of the above issues, but I wanted to mention the rest to avoid a future headache.
TL:DR; You are allowed to dislike aspects of PanSMP, you are allowed to prefer different versions of the myths, but please remember that the majority of you are a guest in this culture- it is not yours.
That said, PanSMP has presented a very fun and engaging concept that is fully respectful!! I trust POW Creations and the CCs to handle it well and look forward to watching the SMP when it drops! :D

Grian cautiously poked his head around the tree to watch, and looked closer in curiosity. There was a ring of mushrooms in a circle on the ground, perfectly round and big enough to fit quite a few peopleāthough it hadnāt rained in well over a week. He also noticed there were no leaves in the circle, either, though the rest of the ground was covered in leaves Grian had to be very careful not to step on.
Scar walked into the circle, and Grian blinked a few times in surprise as he registered the circle seemed to be glowing slightly in the dark. When Scar stepped into it, even he seemed to glow a little, too, though that had to be his eyes deceiving him.

When Scar leaves his phone at Grianās place after hanging out, Grian follows him to return the lost item--only to stumble upon something mystical that raises more questions than answers.

i must say, i am a huge fan of when a book is in the middle of a very exciting plot containing many interesting problems when out of nowhere for a few pages it's like, "hey by the way, real quick, here's a detailed explanation of the city's water filtration system! i'm telling you this for a reason and you should worry about it. anyway! haha okay back to the plot" and you just get to be Scared for a while

there will never be anything as funny as the mutual disbelief between long form and short form fic writers about each other's style.
short form writers look at people writing 100k+ fics as though this is some sort of talent given as part of a fae bargain, that the commitment required shows some sort of ungodly mental fortitude.
meanwhile long form writers look at people writing 1000 word one shots like god I would cut off my left nipple to be able to say anything concisely. i would love to play with multiple ideas. free me from the shackles of this child I have birthed. i love them but I now must take them to t-ball and doctor's appointments and they're going to destroy everything I own.

He looked pretty smiley, confident for being on the stage all on his own, without any friends or anyone to accompany him. He held the microphone in a steady hand, and glanced to the side as he waited for the music to start, some cheesy pop song Jimmy vaguely knew.
Then he started singing.

I just saw an anon come into a gif-makerās ask box and start with the phrase: āIām trying not to spam your inbox with reblogs, butā and then go on to say how much they love the gifs.
But Iām still stuck on that opening phrase becauseā¦what? I am so confused by how people view interactions on tumblr & AO3 these days. Let me make it very clear for anyone who is unsure:
CREATORS WANT YOU TO INTERACT WITH THEIR WORK.
The limit does not exist on how many of their works you can interact with in a certain period.
If you like every fic theyāve ever written? Then feel free to give them all kudos and even leave a comment on every single one if you feel inclined! If youāre going through someoneās blog and you vibe with every post, like/reblog to your heartās content!
As long as youāre not expecting something back from them or adding a ton of irrelevant comments, itās not spam! Itās what this is all about!! Iām not even much of a creator and I still feel a huge sense of pride when I see a ton of notifications in a row from a person, as it clearly shows they thought my blog was worth spending time on.
And if for some reason a creator is annoyed by this (unlikely), they can manage their own experience (turn off notifs, not look at their notes, delete the fic, etc) -- so donāt deprive the majority of creators because of some imagined annoyed person. Fandom is a collaborative effort and we all must participate!

Fae Scar attempts to trick and/or bind Grian to eternal servitude, but Grian manages to accidentally stumble through every loophole with his eyes closed.
been thinking about some kinda fantasy/fairy au because like. scar is so obviously a fae of some kind right? like. i mean come on. he gives those vibes so intensely it's astounding. specifically third life but also scar in general as a character.
a being who lives to trick and deceive for the fun of it. an infamous scammer trained in deceit veiled by trust and wields their tongue like a weapon. known for being sweet and innocent but could also rip you to shreds if you gave them enough reason to. varies on an unpredictable spectrum of kind and thoughtful to wicked and sneaky. dangerous and wholesome at the same time. you shouldn't make any deals with them lest they sneak in some kind of loophole. in love with shenanigans to a dangerous degree. completely oblivious to certain human traditions and acts so bewildered when they say something inappropriate but you also have the sneaking suspicion they might know what they're doing. fiercely adoring to their friends and family (and pets) but willing to kill anyone else in an instant just for the violence if they got in their way or threatened one of their loved ones.
although hm i guess there's a bit of a contradiction here because fae are typically known for their inability or struggle to lie. not like they always tell the truth but most myths say they can't lie.
although honestly i feel like scar would just take this as a challenge. like, Scar The Scammer (TM) would be well aware of this massive disadvantage he has with not being able to lie, but hey, most of his life he's had to go through a lot of stuff most of his peers haven't and he's still been able to come up successful, right?
so he's a scammer and thief and whatnot etc etc that likes the fact he can't lie, and engages with half truths and misdirections that make him seem more trustworthy while his victim falls further and further into his trap of deceit sugar-spun from his sweet, innocent words.
and that's not even STARTING on the whole thing of if you give a fae your true name they have control over you....
