Hi I'm Jessica French, I'm a music composition major and entrepreneurship minor at Eastern Illinois University. My primary instrument is piano and my secondary is percussion. A few of favorite musicians include Owl City, Lights, Firefight, Elvis, and the Beatles. In my spare time I love to watch Doctor Who, anime, and Asian dramas. Some of my favorite shows are Avatar, Ouran High School Host Club, Coffee Prince, and Free! I am also studying abroad in South Korea for 6 weeks from June 25th-August 7th this summer! I reached my weight goal this week!! Thanks fitbit. It's hard to push yourself to go to the gym several times a week, but I did it. And I feel good :)

Today is the day I fly out for South Korea. These last 6 months have been some of the hardest that I have experienced. Life can change on a dime when you least expect it to. And sometimes we lose people or things that are very important to us and our hearts. I have a long ways to go to get to where I want to be in life, but I am proud of how far I have come. I am proud of each and every accomplishments I have made this year, I've earned 7 scholarships, got all A's, and even made the dean's list. As well as performed my very first sophomore recital and wrote my first wind quartet. I worked for the last 7 weeks at a full time job, took music lessons, attended physical therapy, and still made time to see my friends. I've been looking forward to this trip for the past year, and know that all my hard work will be worth it. So today I will embark on my journey to a whole new world. I would like to say thank you to my friends and family who have supported me in my struggles. And pray there be no hard feelings. Please wish me luck in this new place. I am more than excited to open my eyes and see and experience the world.
