No that’s something different. I am firm on the idea of a platonic date. Friends is just people you don’t hate as much. Platonic peeps are actually people you care about.

Police: Man Claims Rape Was Result of Gender Identity Crisis
FAYETTEVILLE - A Fayetteville man is facing a rape charge, and police say he claims it was a result of a gender identity crisis. According to the police report, Benjamin Whited, 20, groped a woman while they both were intoxicated, and while she was unconscious. He told officers he gender identifies as a female, and wanted to know what a real woman felt like. The report says Whited put a pillow over her face to hide himself, but she woke up during the assault. He is being held in the Washington County jail.

So I’ve really been loving Prime’s ‘Good Omens’. Who isn’t loving the miniseries about two husbands trying to save the world?
In looking through fan stuff, however, I found this quote from Neil Gaiman, co-author of the original:
“Occult/ethereal beings don’t have sexes, something we tried to reflect in the casting.”
Therefore, he is saying that the characters do not have ‘gender’ as they are non-human beings. The casting reflects this.
And yet the very overwhelming majority of these occult and ethereal beings are played by male actors. So what does this mean? It means that the casting directors and us as audiences see being male as being the default gender. if they were to be played by female actors, no one would be describing them as ‘genderless’.
Reminds me a lot of the Doctor Who Discourse.
not to be a fun-killing fuddy duddy, but if you’re on the internet and threatening to cut off women’s clitorises—a threat of sexualized violence that both has real-life parallels and targets women for their female bodies—then you’ve already lost the high ground and frankly cannot regain it. you started off losing, and no inane plea of “i’m oppressed” is going to help you. it literally does not matter who you are.
The person who did this is now like “I’m a minor please educate me on what I did wrong uwu” like shut the fuck up even if you’re 16 you used this as a way to attack in a moment of anger a woman you disagreed with, you KNOW perfectly well what you’re doing and why: to silence women. It wasn’t an accident for you to use that threat in that context.
funnily enough at 16 i understood what violence against women was—because i’d experienced it. but being a minor on tumblr somehow lets you off the hook for graphically threatening to genitally mutilate women you dislike. i’m all for giving minors second chances, but if you can’t admit that you were being overtly misogynistic (instead of making a ‘little mistake’) then i don’t really feel for you at all.
