Christmas Stars, Rabbit, Witch

Once upon a time there was a prince who ruled his kingdom with kindness. And was respected and loved by all his people.

One Christmas Eve, a sorcerer from the mountains came to the Prince's castle and cast a spell on him, turning him into a rabbit. The rabbit prince hopped around his castle, escaping from servants who want to cook him into rabbit stew. He jumped out a window and escaped his castle, vowing to turn back into a human and return to his people.

On his search to turn back into a human he met a witch.The witch said she can turn him back into a human but she needs the power of a bright Christmas star. The rabbit hopped around to look for one. On Christmas day the rabbit found a bright star and presented it to the witch, but the witch said "It is not strong enough, we need a brighter star." And the prince remained a rabbit for another year.

For nine years, the rabbit and the witch travelled all the lands to find the brightest Christmas star and each year they failed. In the tenth year, the rabbit and the witch came to a new land. During their search, the rabbit saw some children on the streets, poor and hungry. He decided to stop and help them.

The witch said "We can't stop now, we are so close to finding the star. If we stop now, you may have to be a rabbit for another year." But the rabbit still decided to spend the time to help them.

All of a sudden, the rabbit started glowing! His act of kindness had made him the brightest Christmas star.

With the help of the witch, the rabbit turned back into a human. Through the time he spent travelling with the witch he had fallen in love with her, and they lived happily ever after.

Luna and Sol

Luna and Sol are friends, they live together in a small wooden house in the woods.

Every night after dinner they'd go outside to watch the moon rise into the sky.

Luna told Sol:

"I want to fly to the moon."

And with the Harry Potter movie fresh on her mind from the night before Luna decided to make a flying cloak.

Sol listened with an exasperated sigh and handed Luna a cup of jasmine tea.

Luna chugged the drink and ran off to start her cloak, her eyes filled with sparkles and dreams.

Every night she scavenged for bird feathers, flower petals and fallen leaves to weave into her magical cloak and Sol would watch from the porch, awaiting her return with the cup of jasmine tea.

Many months past until Luna declared her cloak complete with light and magic. As Luna prepares for the flight, Sol made a pot of jasmine tea for Luna as usual.

Luna wore her magic cloak and closed her eyes tight.

She imagined herself light and airy as a marshmallow dusted with icing sugar, floating up towards the full golden moon on a single gust of the midsummer wind.

When she opened her eyes she saw she is still on the ground. Solidly grounded with grass under her feet and Sol's immensely warm eyes reflecting in hers.

Tears filled the little girl's eyes and began to fall.

"I tried so...hard! Birds can fly. and i have so many feathers!!! And then flower petals float onto the wind soeffortlesslyandithoughticanand...andthenleavesarelightandi..."

She trails off into sobs. Sol sat down next to her, she looks positively glowing tonight, the feathers, the flowers and the leaves all seem to glow around her. the cloak is magical and Luna is too.

Sol passes the cup he has been holding to Luna.

'Look", he says.

Luna took the cup and found the moon, wavering on the cup of warm jasmine tea, right in her hands.

Bear, Macarons, Clouds

Once upon a time there was a bear.

He was left behind by his family that was inside jail.

His mother, father and brother was charged with the murder of a young blonde girl.

Named Goldilocks.

The young bear wants to visit them in jail.

But he needs something sweet and light.

Because he has a brilliant plan.

So he goes on a search to find macarons.

Specifically, cloud flavored ones.

He went to bakery after bakery, and walked until his paws are raw from walking and his mouth sugary from tasting. 

And finally, he found a small bakeshop in the middle of a swamp.

Inside is a witch who made countless macarons in the most exquisite flavors and her penguin who serves the most interesting coffees. 

The bear ordered a huge box of cloud flavored macarons and brought them to the visiting room at the jail.

He proudly presented his box of macarons in his raw paws and gave his family a sweet smile.

That night the bear family ate all the macarons and floated, with a stomach full of clouds, over the high prison walls, across the lands and slowly drifted back to their small home in the woods.

There they found the young bear awaiting their arrival with fresh porridge, just the way they like it.

The Travelling Musician and the Badger

There was once a travelling musician that travelled through the lands with a battered suitcase. Collecting sunrises, watching the oceans rise, her expeditions reached far and wide. Her bright smiles and sweet music notes lit up every town she passed through. The travelling musician's wanderlust brought her far and wide, but she never felt lonely.

One cold winter day, the travelling musician arrived at a small town and chanced upon a band of horn players. She was initially drawn to the goldfish with shiny scales reflecting the colors of a sunset and the parrot with the graceful voice and entrancing words. But the greed in their eyes does not lie. Those alluring words could not hide their cold icy intentions. Only the silent badger, with a silver wire pair of glasses sitting on his little nose, emits a warm ember fire feeling. His caramel eyes shines like her favourite stars. Spending time with the badger in his hole in the ground became a brown sugar pleasure, to her surprise, the air between them is one of a simple and natural sweetness. With the crackling warmth from the fireplace and badger by her side, this winter does not seem so cold anymore. This cinnamon silence is different yet comforting. The times they shared over board games and coffee became the only times the travelling musician looks forward to. One night, they read "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" together, flipping page after page of mysteries and murders, their heads pressed together and eyes looking at the same words, breathing the same air and feeling each other's warmth. The feathery flakes swirling outside are blocked outside of their locked door and hands. The badger pulls his mind from the thick leather bound book in his lap as the antique grandfather clock in the corner chimes twelve and finds the travelling musician fast asleep on his shoulder. He slowly lays her down on the bed and then with a grunt, pulls a warm quilt over her. He looks at the travelling musician's pale, peaceful face with fondness. The yellow stars on the dark blue quilt looks inviting. He climbs under the same starry cover and sighs as he falls into a deep slumber. The travelling musician opens her eyes in a sea of dark blue. Ah, it is this again. She thought as she smiles at the stars around her. This is her secret, the beautiful luminary garden that she strolls in, visiting every star like the Little Prince. The first star she visits is an old library filled with dog-eared music sheets. "The badger might perhaps like these music that lit up my world." She thought. Mahler and Wagner and Schumann. Her fingers slide across the wooden shelves, and her mind wanders to the badger's tiny ears. The second star she visits is a small homely kitchen. Wonderful food would be prepared for treasured company. The third star she visits is the astrology shop of a raven haired witch. She pushes open the door to the shop with jingling bells. The witch sits at her usual oak desk shuffling a deck of tarot cards. "It's been a while." said the Witch with a smile as she pours a cup of milk tea for the Travelling musician. "How have you been?" "There is a badger and I do not know what to make of him." The travelling musician said with a slight frown. The witch suppresses a smile, the travelling musician's eyes does not lie, they are smiling as she speaks of the badger. The witch stops shuffling and pulls out a card. "The moon." The witch shows the travelling musician. A beautifully drawn card lies on the dark purple velvet tablecloth. The moon reflects onto the musician's eyes, overlapping with the moonlight outside the window. "Everything is unclear," said the Witch, "The moon represents a place of inspiration and serenity, perhaps you are thinking of bringing the badger here. Showing him your stars and lights." The travelling musician gazes out beyond the witch, many more stars shine beyond the window. Their twinkling gives her tiny fragments of hope. Perhaps I would like to invite the badger to my galaxy of stars. I would like to fly into this beautiful life and I think it'd be nice with you. The travelling musician opens her eyes and slips out of the badger's embrace. Her barefeet climbs the dirt steps up to the opening in the cieling. Sitting down at the last step, she gazes at the starry night and breathes out a sigh of frosty breath. She thought of the badger and her stars. She had been travelling forever with her stars. There is no loneliness in her trips, as she travels far and wide, the night sky always coats the world, and her adventures, as a warm blanket. No matter what the badger's answer will be, she will still have her stars. Her thoughts are broken by soft footsteps. She turns and finds the badger standing at the bottom of the stairs looking up at her. The travelling musician stands up and, with the whole night sky and her stars behind her, asked the badger. "Will you invite me to stay with you, or will I travel onward with my stars?"

Of Stardust and Tinsel

On a cold day in December, a girl who thought she was ordinary met a boy who thought he was nothing special. They both wore grey overcoats and held cups of nondescript tea in their mittened hands. Earl Grey for Dust and Green for Tin.

Dust was counting the tiles on the ground and Tin was trying not to step onto the lines. In this careless game they bumped into each other and fragrant tea soaked their grey jackets. "Oops." Dust looked up and fell like a falling star into Tin's eyes.

"S-sorry." He stammers and blushes. He points to a sign near by. Dust smiles.

Listening to the humming of the washing machine at the coin laundry, Dust and Tin exchanged thoughts, smiles and quickened heartbeats. "I've always been a forgotten child." "I am nothing remarkable either." Looking into each others eyes is like looking into a mirror. Loneliness reflecting into infinite broken shards.

As they grew closer, Tin becomes brighter. With each meeting, Dust shines a little more. It no longer matters to them that they are the grey background in this cold city.

"Even if you are in the dark, I will shine with you." Under the canopy of the deep violet sky, for each other, they have become bright. Filled with stardust and tinsel.
