Summary/Prompt: Sammy has recently brought home a retired k9 from LAPD named Richter (Ricky). Richter slowly gets WAY to protective of reader and won't let Sammy even touch them.

Sammy and Reader have been engaged for 3 weeks now and Sammy has never been happier. About a week ago Sammy had been left with the responsibility of a 9 year old German Shepard that has just been retired from the Police Force for about two weeks. Ricky had been getting used to being retired and staying home with reader while Sammy was working.
By the time Sammy had finally gotten off of work and actually was able to go home it was past 1am. He groans as he got into his cruiser resting his head on the steering wheel for a few minutes before finally pulling his out and dialing readers number. It takes a couple rings before they pickup with a grumbly sleepy "hello...?"
"Hey baby, did I wake you?" Sammy says softly with a soft chuckle
"mmm... no..." faintly in the back Ricky barks loudly "rickkkyyy shut uppp!!" reader says with a loud groan
"Everything okay sweetheart ?"
"Yeah... Ricky just won't shut up...Are you coming home now...?"
Sammy chuckles " Yeah baby Im comin home"
"mkay... Ima go back to sleep, love youuuu" reader says
"I love you too, sleep baby Im on my way." he hangs up the phone with a sigh and sets his phone down between his thighs. After driving in silence for about thirty Sammy finally pulls into their apartment buildings parking lot running his hands over his face trying to wipe the long day off before he opens the car door and walks too the elevator going up to the 3rd floor.
Sammy takes his key and unlocks their door as quietly as he can trying not to wake up reader. Next thing he knows he hears a happy squeal and before he can fully process your pouncing into his arms like a touch starved kitten nearly knocking him over with a huff. "Gosh baby you scared the shit out of me! Thought you were going back to sleep honey"
"I know but after you hung up I just couldn't get myself to sleep... I missed you to much." she says wrapping her legs tighter around his waist. Suddenly there's barking coming from the other room and Ricky suddenly comes flying around the corner pouncing onto Sammy nearly knocking them over as he continues to bark and snap at Sammy. "Woah bud calm down" Sammy says gently setting reader down and stepping back a couple steps.
Ricky keeps growling lowly towards Sammy but trots over to reader and sitting down on their feet with a huff blocking Sammy from getting any closer. Sammy chuckles closer to her thinking this is funny. "Aw bud come on I just wanna hug my girl/boy". Ricky growls when he starts to step closer. "Ricky come onnn" reader groans trying to step past him but he just barks at them making them step back.
"Damn it dog" Sammy groans as reader chuckles and pats Ricky on the head. "sorry baby... he's been doing that to much lately. Wanna watch something...?" reader says sweetly slowly walking backwards to the couch. Sammy huffs and follows her to the couch. Sighing as he slowly sinks down into the couch wrapping his arm around reader pulling them into his side. Finally after a very long day he gets to snuggle up watching some romcom with his favorite person. Buttt not even two minutes of having them tucked into his side Ricky is jumping up between them pushing them apart until there's enough room where he plops down between them with a huff.
"Seriously dude!" Sammy groans as the dog just looks up at him with another huff and moving his head to rest on reader lap.
