my activity here was low to begin with but ! i need a break. life’s not nice to me. so i can’t bring myself to write anything with quality. i apologise.

Blink. Blink. Arvad was comically silent after such a… Well it was a joke! One that did make the man laugh quite hard after he let it process. Nearly folding over with laughter not because the joke itself was particularly hilarious— But because the Captain was so confident with how he said it.

« Haha—! Gee Captain… If your knightly duties start getting boring, I think you’d be an excellent comedian~! »

It’s late and the little adeptus is all tuckered out. His sugar high from grape juice crashed and all his silly games caught up with him. So, he is back by Khalid. “I’m tired now. Can you take me home?”

Oh dear. Seeing Xue all tuckered out may have just struck a soft spot of Khalid’s heart. Certainly enough to make him put away the pens and papers he was previously working on.

Without another word, Khalid nodded. Standing up and collecting his things, he noticed just how… Sleepy Xue was. Goodness gracious.

In an instant, Khalid had put Xue on his back, holding his legs to support him. He supposed he could take the little guy home; it isn’t as if he had anywhere else to be, after all.

khalid helps alhaitham commentate during the new event in the form of silly signage. but then comes layla’s mini game & he’s cheering for her bc we all love layla 🙄☝️ (and he’s biased because stars).

so silly comic idea i had:

alhaitham: “you’re supposed to be unbiased. and not cheering for our competition.”

khalid’s sign: “nobody cares 😐”

then he goes back to making silly ones whenever smth interesting happens BAHSHSSH

« A… A who—? » What interesting word choice! One that, admittedly, had Arvad’s brain buffering as he racked it for the word’s definition. However once he actually remembered what it meant—

« Isn’t that a… Usual trait, for cats? I’ve seen maybe one or two of them today, I think? Though I’m always willing to help you find your lost cat! »

What’s this? Khalid mixing his own business? Not for long! Xue seemingly drops from above in his small noodle dragon form, landing straight on his shoulders. “SURPRISE! It’s fools day!” The small dragon leaps off and turns back into what he normally looks like. He can’t do big pranks on on his big brother. “Did I shock you good?”

Khalid, although almost too late, had sensed Xue’s presence. Though he hadn’t expected the young adeptus to pounce on him in the form of a small dragon. Especially not whilst he was sitting down, reading.

He wasn’t particularly a fan of April Fool’s day, mostly because he had no one to play pranks on— But for Xue’s sake, he over exaggerated his response. His expression forming something akin to shock, and his shoulders tensing, he looked to the younger as he stood in front of him. Raising his hand, he used his pointer finger to form words in the air, made from lightning: ‘Well now… You did manage to scare me.’

A silent laugh came from him, eyes falling closed as he smiled. Before long, he stood up, ruffling the boy’s hair in an almost proud manner. However he had a little shock of his own up his sleeve. Literally. Poking the boy’s left cheek, Khalid gave him a small zap; nothing too serious, and certainly not painful. Just a little buzz to catch him off guard. Even someone as recluse as he is can give people a startle or two.

Speaking of April Fools. . . Arvad’s feeling energetic. (More mischievous than usual; how deadly.) Feel free to like/reply if it’s okay for him to come into your inbox and… Say hello!

Arvad had always been a fan of April Fool’s. An official holiday to prank those around him and get a fun laugh? Sign him up~ However— The festivities and opportunities to get fun rises out of people aren’t his favourite part about the day.

It was his birthday. Or, moreover, the fact that people forgot about his birthday, given the already existing holiday. Sure, free things and being doted on were fine in theory… But Arvad was never good at receiving such things on this day. Compliments, gifts, a simple ‘happy birthday’ was always enough to make him shrink back into a blushing mess.

So, if you see an all too familiar green ahoge bouncing about, ready to pull his umpteenth joke of the day— Perhaps slip him a little message. Be it from the heart, or just to get him to settle down.

i have no idea why scara is participating in the competition with everyone else but i hope it’s because nahida finally sent him to school 😭

An odd, obviously unfamiliar figure appeared on the outskirts of Liyue— near the Chasm. And, well; it seemed he had no problems with going wherever he pleased.

That led him to now standing next to Xue, and was quite curious. Even going as far to quickly scribble down a note, handing it to the boy.

— ‘Are you a child? What are you doing out here by yourself?’

The boy stops dangling his feet over the cliff edge and turns his head to look at the stranger. His eyes fell on the note, reading it before answering the questions. Though, it did confuse him as to why he was being handed a note.

Maybe the stranger can't talk? The young adeptus thinks to himself.

Then he looks up again, making eye contact with the stranger. Smiling as he notices the dark purple hair like his, but not saying it at first. Even if he was so excited to point it out. "Why are you giving me a note?" He asks, still keeping his eyes on the stranger as he scoots back. Allowing his little legs to have enough room to stand up.

Xue then takes another look at the note, it seems he was concerned about him. He normally comes out here when he was overwhelmed with all of his adoptive family. Well, he'll go off to about anywhere within the borders around Liyue.

"I'm okay. I like to adventure out!" He confidently puts his hands on his hips. "But what are you doing here?"

Khalid’s head tilted, his eyebrows raising as he took in Xue’s words. The boy was obviously not that old; at least not old enough to be all the way out here… Well, Khalid was one to run off whenever he was younger, so perhaps he shouldn’t judge too much. That also meant that he knew just how dangerous Teyvat was, especially to children.

Taking his journal, he wrote in it once more, though didn’t tear out a page this time; after all, it can become quite tedious should the two have a proper conversation.

— ‘Adventure all the way out here? You’ve nearly entered Sumeru. Are you even capable of defending yourself should something happen?’ Was what the first line of his writings said. Though he wrote more.

— ‘I’m a scholar. I research things; sometimes time and surroundings get away from me, and now I’ve ended up here.’ The journal was then turned in the child’s direction— The handwriting surprisingly neat for how fast Khalid wrote.
