i have to finally interject and say this is not Lynchian, it’s a direct pastiche of the work of Timothy Heidecker and Eric Wareheim through the mid to late 2000s (Mostly in Tim & Eric Great Show Awesome Job).

Lynch prefers to establish an awkward, otherworldly scene and reside within it until it reaches an emotional climax while Heidecker and Wareheim rely on the disorienting use of computer graphics to create a sense of unreality to comic effect.

I literally just watched this episode, and I'm sorry, but there's one thing funnier:

Zuko couldn't speak during this whole fight/escape in case someone recognized his voice. Can you imagine the frustration he must have felt having to go through an entire fight without yelling? Zuko???

One of my favorite parts of rewatching the episode is imagining everything that must have been going through Zuko’s head during that escape.

How to Draw Native People: a Tutorial/Reference Guide

As requested, here is a basic guide for how to draw Indigenous peoples (mostly focused on North America)! Also please note that this is not an exhaustive list of Native American phenotypes/features, and more like an intro on very common features that can be found in us, and even then, not altogether at once on a single person’s face. I highly encourage the use of references and care taken into research when drawing. I may do a part 2 that goes slightly more into depth, but for now, enjoy part one.

one of my top favourite scenes in aftg is when that huge gorilla player is fucking kevin off so he yells for matt and matt just immediately throws his racquet away mid game to deliver the most brutal suckerpunch he possibly can AND THEN when gorilla is like im going to kill this man matt just hightails back to the goal and andrew whose easily like half this mans size just stands in between them like try me bitch and it WORKS and anyway matt gets carded but gives kevin a thumbs up like ay i got u bro and neil watches it all unfold in the space of like 20 seconds like ah yes. my sporting legend idols. i want to be just like them :)

everyones posting their piece for the @giveyourbacktome-zine and i wanted to join in so heres my 10 page monstrosity  i loved working on this project thank you for the opportunity!! <3333

i cant stop thinking about Deklo Lynchy Boy and what a wonder he will be in the next book now that he’s being less repressed, more his pure self.

like, i just reread CDTH and near the end we see him loose control, symbolically and through actions; literally telling Matthew ‘i dont want to pretend anymore’, his real laugh coming through accidentally when around Jordan, his hotel-like apartment being trashed (very symbolic, thank you Maggie), telling Matthew many monumental truths (Declan’s true mom, Matthew being a dream etc), trusting Ronan to look after himself, the last of his dialogue is telling Jordan she can drive (such development from the first scene of the book where he is adament that no one else drives his car - showing that he feels like he needs to be incontrol at all times. then at the end he is helping Jordan feel like she has control in her life by letting her drive, and by doing so she helps him not be incontrol for once and finally trust his safety (and family’s safety) to others. they’re so good for each other, i love it).

while i was reading it i was imagining his appearance reflecting him becoming less “boring” or whatever. e.g. removing his suit jacket while searching frantically for Matthew when he leaves school, hair tousled, his tie coming loose when he’s angry at Ronan after Matthew finds out hes a dream. shirt sleeves roughly rolled up and top buttons coming undone as he and Jordan are fighting the Moderators in the mansion, probably getting blood splatters on his shirt and a rip here or there. his shirt comming untucked as he pushes Jordan and Matthew up the stairs into the attic crawl space then rushes up after them to get away from the demon sun dogs. imagine him sitting in the breakfast cafe at the end of the book, no tie or suit, only a white shirt top three/four buttons undone, sleeves pushed up to his elbows, hair a mess, a bruise on his cheek, emotions open on his face and in his voice, a dynamic, eccentric and alive boy coming out of hiding. the complete opposite to the beginning where he is so controlled visually that people forget his as soon as they look away. now people cant help but remember him. a fucking masterpiece.

also, now that he is going back to the barns, he can finally contront his childhood and trauma and heal. IM SO READY FOR THIS. Maggie please hurry up, i need book to asap. please and thank you
