“ now , why is it that your opinion is a fact , but my opinion is just that ? no more than a matter of personal taste ? ” she questions , not expecting a serious answer. she thoroughly enjoyed this mundane debates with steve , even when neither of them conceded. “ nevertheless , objectively , tea is far more beneficial to our health. ”
“science, probably,” he’s shrugging through his smile, the look of it wide enough to be a laugh. “now, how come tea’s so beneficial when it’s only used to sleep, huh? drink of people who don’t wanna get anything done, sure.” he pushes off from his seat on his desk. “if you don’t want me to buy you coffee --- or tea, if you keep insisting --- all you had to do is say so. last chance, sun.”
zoe spent most mornings at the track field , but some mornings was a swimming day so she’d spend it by doing laps in the pools. either way , zoe barnes was an early riser and was always doing something. ‘ you’ll change the world , zo-zo , “ her mother would say. zoe got to the end of the pool after doing another lap ( they had lost count by now ). zoe came out of the water and the first thing she saw was someone standing over her. “ y’know , this is the perfect beginning to a HORROR MOVIE, “ she laughed , taking her swimmers cap off.
the twitch of amusement flashes on steve’s face as he shakes his head. “i don’t think i’d be anyone’s first choice as horror movie lead,” still, he smiles down at her, wondering if it had been meant as a compliment, in zoë’s own strange way. steve holds out the paper bag in front of him, presenting it to her, “you left this at home. thought you could use later. y’know, when lunch rolls around? your dad and i can’t mess up sandwiches that bad.”
ava threw herself into her training today, boxing against the reinforced punching bag with an intensity that none wanted to come in front of. the gym attendant took to waiting just outside for the girl to finish, wryly warning those that tried to take time with the reinforced bag they may have to wait. not that she noticed, earbuds tightly in as her gloved fists flew, a flurry of moment as she bounced on the balls of her feet, finishing with a wide kick before she stops, panting slightly, though a solid smirk on her face as she greets the familiar newcomer [ @starspanglcdman ] with a nod of her chin. she speaks after she takes a gulp of water, “hola, viejo,” she shoots the time-worn title at him warmly, “you want a go?”admittedly, it’s easier, more routine, to greet him like this… NOT with the weight of everything she’d done behind her. it was there, but she hoped the endorphins from the workout showed more at the moment.
finding her here is somewhat of a stroke of luck, given he’s been wanting to check up on her for a while now. though he’d come to train at the gym himself, he’s glad when he sees her, barely hesitating as he approaches. the warm hello he gets sets him at ease, makes him smile at her ask she speaks. “no, no, thanks. estoy bien.” his workout can wait while he catches up with ava, and he wastes no time in focusing on her, his voice almost expectant as he asks, “how is everything with you?”
❝ you’re being like a narc right now. you’re being so narcoleptic. ❞ // @feelthestxrm // still accepting!
the words are met with a softly furrowed brow, confusion etched onto steve’s face as tommy speaks. he can’t help the chuckle and the shake of his head that follows. “y’know, sometimes, jokes like that remind me of back in the day. fatalist humor, dadaism---makes me think jokes really haven’t changed that much.” steve had only asked after the missing coffee pot from the professor’s lounge nearby, mentioning his need for coffee after a long night of grading tests and feeling a little tired. he hadn’t expected this response from tommy, and yet, he delights in it a little. “i promise i won’t ‘narc’ on the floor right now, but i’d still like to know where it went. you haven’t seen it around, have you?”
❝ why are you booing me? i’m right. ❞ // @petriichvr // still accepting!
“i think it’d be more accurate to say that you’re entitled to your opinion,” the quirked brow on steve’s face accents his look of amusement, his words only meaning to be light---a gesture matching their discussion. “harp on all you want about tea, but coffee is objectively better. that’s a fact.”
— ✧ that looks like STEVE ROGERS, known as CAPTAIN AMERICA! he is a TRANS MAN, use HE/HIM pronouns, and looks like CHRIS EVANS. his children were ADOPTED and he is MARRIED TO BUCKY BARNES. i hear he’s DETERMINED & LOYAL, but tends to be INFLEXIBLE & SELF-RIGHTEOUS. he works as a PROFESSOR for AMERICAN POLITICS and as a SUPERVISOR for the ART CLUB & the GENDER AND SEXUAL ALLIANCE CLUB at paragon.
small violence & gun tw! just a small mention
The paint doesn’t move the way the light reflects,
so what’s there to be f a i t h f u l to?
steven grant rogers was born on july 4th, 1918 in brooklyn, new york to sarah and joseph rogers
he never met his father. to steve, joseph was only a photograph, a story told once in a while when his mother got melancholy at night. he was a soldier. a ghost.
as a child, steve was slight and prone to sickness. this still didn’t stop him from being feisty and fighty, always standing up for what he considered to be right.
somewhere along the way, bucky got tangled up in his life. they have been inseparable ever since.
the fact of steve’s gender was something that came to him easy as breathing. it’s always been known to him. he has always been himself.
he got lucky in the people he chose to confide in. sarah was accepting of him to the point where she was the one who named him steve, when he asked for her opinion.
bucky was there when it happened. of course he was. he’s always been there.
steve loves art! he’s always loved to draw---it’s why he enrolled in auburndale art school after he graduated high school. he dropped out a year later due to the great depression but he’s never let his love of art fade.
as the second war broke out, steve felt that he couldn’t sit idly by. this led to him trying to join and then being rejected from the army four times
after his third rejection, bucky leaves for war. after his fourth rejection, steve meets dr. abraham erskine.
erskine sees steve for who he is and who he could be. this leads steve’s enrollment in the u.s. army and in project rebirth.
steve gets the super-soldier serum after months of training and preparation from both the army and from erskine, who helped him become who he is today.
from then on, the story’s simple: he goes overseas, rescues bucky’s unit, forms the howling commandos. loses bucky. flies a plane into the ocean to save the united states.
for 45 years, steve is presumed dead.
his body is found in 1990, perfectly preserved and very much alive.
after being revived from the ice, steve joined SHIELD and did jobs for them. he helped form the avengers to protect new york.
he found bucky again. helped him get back to who he was and all was right with the world again.
violence & gun tw! last year, he got shot at an anti-registration rally, where he was speaking out for mutant / powered rights! (also commonly known as event 08)
is now happily married and has a lot of adopted kids. please bring steve kids. i want a mini-army.
extras!
when it comes to the class he teaches, he’s pretty unapologetic about it. he knows a thing or two about american politics and he will not hesitate to call bullshit on any bad thing the government does. he’ll give it to you straight. none of the dressed up history books bs.
steve took the role of art club supervisor bc he wanted to get back into art and it’s worked fantastically. he still draws but he started painting a few years back and he still considers himself to be improving with it.
supervisor the GSA because he is both bisexual and transgender. when he was younger, he got so used to hiding those facts that it took him a while to open up about them. but now, he recognizes that his visibility is important for younger kids who are struggling, too. so, he’s very passionate about lgbtq+ rights and even moreso about lgbtq+ youth.
steve is incredibly politically active and stands by his belief that protesting works and should be done by anyone who feels their voice should be heard
steve has no room for bigotry. he fucking fought a war about it.
he’s a vocal advocate for mutant rights and won’t make you forget it.
“do you really want to punch your way out of this?” buddy. Pal. name me a situation that steve rogers HASN’T punched his way out of since 1942. and don’t say “a plane crash” we don’t know what he was doing every second for 70 years. maybe he woke up halfway and fought a polar bear. and i feel like you could argue that in the end he’s still punching his way out of the ice like, emotionally
