Rhythm laughs warmly at her response. “I’m betting that you thought I was the hottest person on earth, it’s either that or you were wondering where fish hide their ears. Though maybe both of those were just me.”

Rhythm greeted her with a small smile and a curious tilt of his head. “Are you going to tell me what it was?” Rhythm inquires as his smile turns into a smirk. “Or do I have to guess?”

cora paused at the question. “i have no idea.” she said shaking her head. “the guards don’t even know if the book was stolen. the cameras weren’t working.” she sighed. “it could be a prank i guess.”

“The guards aren’t even sure something was stolen?” Rhythm responded with a tilt of his head. “Then what’s everyone freaking out about? Shouldn’t we rule out everything other than theft before we jump to the worst conclusion?”

“swords have never really been my thing, i mean i love them to bits and one of my bestest friends is like an aficionado with them, y’know, they’re like mozart with a sword and –” del spun the blade around in their hands with a sheepish laugh. “actually, you know what, maybe it’s better you fight them and not me –”

Rhythm fought hard to contain the equal parts jealousy and excitement he felt when he heard someone described as Mozart with a sword. “What’s their name?” Rhythm sounded interested but not too interested, offering just the right amount of curiosity to sound genuine without sound weird. “I can go easy on you, if you want.”

Rhythm was still getting accustomed to being back on Auradon’s soil when he’d heard the news. A break in at the museum, maybe Auradon wasn’t as boring as he remembered it being. “So, what’s your theory?” He asked the person standing next to him as he waited for his coffee. “Who did it? What did they do it for?”

KANG DANIEL, DEMIBOY,  HE/HIM.  —  looks  like  RHYTHM HAWKINS  is  attending   AURORIA UNIVERSITY in  auradon.  they’re  the  TWENTY ONE  year  old  child  of  JIM HAWKINS,  which  means  they’re  from  MONTRESSOR.  heard  they’re  CUNNING  & ENTERTAINING,  but  can  also  be  MANIPULATIVE  &  UNKIND  ;  we all have our bad days.  people  normally  associate  them  with  THE CLASH OF SWORDS, SOMEONE ELSE’S TREASURE IN HIS HANDS, AND THE SILVER LIGHT OF THE FULL MOON.

biography

- rhythm is the younger of the two hawkins twins. Being about 15 minutes younger than his sister melody. - Born on Montressor but left at an early age when their home and family business the Benbow Inn burned to the ground. - For a while the family sailed across the stars until eventually they found and settled in auradon. Founding the new benbow inn in the process. - From an early age Rhythm was a natural born entertainer, always ready for any guest with a bright smile and some sort of story or even a song waiting for them. He was also highly organized and graceful, making him a natural fit for the the role of the inn’s waiter. - Over time though Rhythm began to feel more trapped in his role than anything else, and as the feeling grew so did a sense of resentment over it. He’d grown up hearing tales of adventures and space and as the years went on he began to feel less and less like he belonged here and more like he belonged among the stars. While at the same time it felt more and more like he would never be able to reach the stars he loved so much. - Then one day Rhythm just snapped, and instead of showing up for his scheduled shift he stole his sister’s solar rider, taking off with it and finding himself feeling free for the first time in his life. He knew he could never go home. - He’d been gone a week when his sister came and found him. High in the sky as a storm rolled in the two of screamed at each other, though neither could quiet hear the other this much was sure, they were both in total agony. And as all his pain and anger spilled out the storm grew closer and stronger. - He doesn’t quite remember what happened next. He thinks he only meant to scare her away, but regardless of intent what happened next was a blur, as the wind rose around them and he flew towards his sister’s glider. Colliding with her in a shower of fire and metal. -He did spare a moment in the wreckage to try and see if he could find Melody, but it was useless with all the fire and the remains of their respective vehicles blocking his vision, and he had not made it out unscathed either, most notably there were three slashes on his body, one across his left cheek, another along his right arm, and a long but shallow one spanning diagonally across his torso. - He managed to stay conscious long enough to swim to shore. From there he passed out, but luckily for him when he came to he found that he still had most of his money on him, so from there it was fairly easy to go to a hospital and have his injuries patched up. It took some convincing but he was also able to assure the doctor’s the assisted him that he was fine, and that they didn’t need to report any of this. Even if they hadn’t listened though he used a fake identity. Having realized that he could use this as an opportunity to start over now that no one would know if he was alive or not. - Sure, now he had no money nor any parts to make a sky fairing vessel, but there were still other ways to sail, so he took himself to a dock and began the process of working his way up. Over time he made some loyal friends on the various ships he served, and when he had enough people who were loyal enough and who he trusted enough he made them his own crew, and when the time was right he lead them in a mutiny against their captain and that’s when they went from sailors to pirates. - They’ve been sailing across the ocean, stealing and causing havoc since, able to evade being caught due to Rhythm’s genius planning and tactics.  - Now though Rhythm has heard about his sister going to auroria university through the grapevine and so he’s decided to return to shore somewhat. wanted connections

HIS CREW - people who rhythm met while sailing who eventually joined his pirate crew. I’d really love if most if not all of them were in a big poly relationship because i love that stuff. but basically a little pirate crew of bastards but they love each other
