I published my first book!

The Devil Ain't a Liar is a 105 page work of written and illustrated poetry meant to help myself and readers process through religious trauma associated with christianity. Originally published on August 8th, 2024, this book was available to order on Amazon and Kindle, but I am so so excited to announce that it is also now available on Etsy where you can order autographed copies as well through the personalization box.

The copies I ship out through Etsy will also come with a FREE bookmark featuring a randomized piece of art from the book itself. Or you can also order a full set of the 8 total bookmarks through my other Etsy listing as well.

I will genuinely never let go of that fact that Arthur never found out Balinor was Merlin’s father. fuck the magic, that’s the secret that haunts me the most.

I wish Arthur found out early on, maybe if Merlin snapped after ‘no man is worth your tears.’ And Merlin swears that he did not inherit Balinor’s dragonlord powers (Arthur does not know they are passed father to son) and Arthur believes him.

and then YEARS later Arthur is bleeding out in the finale and Merlin calls Kilgharrah and Arthur is like wait. hold the fuck up. you said you were not a dragonlord

and Merlin’s standing there with the blood of hundreds on his hands, his last remaining sanity hanging by a thread like my brother in christ you cannot actually believe that’s where i drew the line about lying

It’s absolutely crazy that Merlin has three love interests over the course of the show and Arthur kills one of them, marries the other, and is the third

What if merlin doesnt remember what arthur looked like or the sound of his voice anymore

Merlin can still imagine his laugh and the tone with which he said every jibing comment to Merlin but when merlin tries to put a face to the voice all he can picture is a distant silhouette with fuzzy features and thats why when arthur comes back merlin doesnt know why this strange man looks so familiar but then the man scoffs in disbelief and says "Merlin?!" And Merlins heart stops dead in his chest.

If I had a nickel for every time ive read a fic where a character had a mental disorder and realizing throughout it that I had been dealing with all of the same symptoms and then getting diagnosed within the same year id have two nickels

Anyway then the next sentence that popped into my head was "I'll carve her name into the ash so she's never forgotten." DAMN

My favorite trope is where one character (usually the gentle and soft one) believes the other to be dead and just loses their shit
