(small note: i'm working my way through the book, but i've not quite finished it yet, so sorry for any book inaccuracies!)

a little more headcanony than what i wrote there, but based on my previous post on the way that vic and henry's relationship is characterised by vic's costuming – i think that vic would feel indebted to henry for keeping him from social exclusion. vic isn't weak, (in a fight he'd be able to hold his own against someone his own size, i figure, but probably not someone bigger or more than one person) but as the smallest he'd definitely be the easiest of the gang to physically overpower, and the most likely to be bullied if he wasn't sticking to henry's side all the time. vic feels a lot of love related to seeing henry as a 'protector' figure, even if henry isn't doing it on purpose.
(^ vic is very interested in the musculature henry gained in his mid-to-latter teen years for reasons related to this)
henry does have a strong protective instinct towards vic, but he's not actually thinking about it as much as vic thinks he is. he'd call vic's hair queer, then swing for someone else's jaw on reflex if they said the exact same thing, but he's not really aware he's being protective when he does that.
vic realised he loved henry when they were really young, maybe eight or so. henry figures it out either at eighteen (if he's lucky) or far, far further into his adulthood (if he's not). in a perfect world, they'd move far, far away from derry together as adults.
they were very physically affectionate as children, but butch decided henry was 'too old to be touching him like that' when they were seven and put a stop to it. henry's pulled away a lot since. vic's tried to pull back to not make things harder at home for henry, but sometimes still touches his hair or puts a hand on his shoulder.
henry's over at vic's house pretty often, if he manages to finish up his chores early. henry is noticeably calmer and less erratic when he's in vic's bedroom with the door closed and the blinds shut. this is when they return to being affectionate. it takes a couple hours, but they can get to a point of vic almost having his head on henry's shoulder.
(less canon compliant/established relationship:
henry is a comically bad kisser. it's horrible. vic loves him enough to put up with it, but he'll often end up with spit over his nose and chin.)

thoughts i had in an exam today: i think it's quite cute to imagine vic as having a permanent bitchface with everyone except henry. henry gets to see big shiny brown doe eyes and everyone else gets the world's most hateful scowl
as an addendum to that, i think it's interesting to see that - at least in the 2017 movie - vic is dressed to look physically small. his grey tank top he wears in the kissing bridge scene hangs off of him, and his green coat he wears in the rock fight is also far too big (even more obviously since the sleeves have to be rolled up, which make him seem even smaller, cue awws from the audience)
out of all of the bowers gang, he's definitely dressed to be the most feminine-looking in his clothes, even if i wouldn't say he's feminine.
it says quite a lot about his and henry's relationship in the movie that vic can get away with being slightly effeminate, with bleaching his hair, with not really building any muscle, while still remaining a member of the gang. i wonder what the costume designers were thinking about when they decided on vic looking the way he does.

𓌜 Henry Bowers
Their relationship is complicated. They only became friends cause Vic was scared of him and went along with whatever he said, eventually evolving into an actual friendship, then slowly ending with Vic being scared of him just like before.
The two of them have been 'best friends' since they were kids. Always together, always having each other's backs, in all honesty they're co-dependent and rely on each other way too much.
Vic deeply cares for Henry and truly does want the best for him, which is why he stays by Henrys side despite his growing fear and concern. He feels as if he owes him, that and the fact that he genuinely believes Henry will only get worse if he leaves and it'd be his fault if anything happened after that.
Henry is simply using Vic for emotional support and unconditional love. He's aware Vic is afraid of him and tries to ignore it, though his emotions get the best of him he truly does try to be nice to him sometimes instead of overly aggressive like he is with the others. He knows Vic will stay with him due to the guilt and that's really his only advantage.
Of course, the two do have moments where they are friends, hang out and genuinely care but those of course don't last very long.
In summary, the two of them do genuinely care for each other but Henrys care is overshadowed by his anger and aggression. And Vics is overshadowed by his fear and desperation.
ᯓ⚾︎ Reginald 'Belch' Huggins
Honestly these two are pretty close, they met around the same time as when Vic became friends with Henry so they've known each other for a long time too.
Vic truly does trust Belch and care for him a lot.
Their bond is more of one where they hang out together so they can ignore their issues together instead of alone, they're both aware of this though and are trying to not hang out for that reason alone.
And to stop that, they usually go play baseball together, to the theaters, or to the arcade, someplace fun when they both have the time.
Since Belch is the only one with a car, Vic tends to call him the most when he needs to go somewhere, rather than simply walking or riding a bike. Belch doesn't have a problem with this, it just means he gets to see Vic more often.
These two hang out the most out of everyone, even when they're all busy as hell, they don't completely understand each other but care for the other deeply.

Starting off strong and blunt, Vic doesn't like him, not one bit. He'll tolerate him and try to simply ignore his antics, but he DOESNT like him and will avoid him when able.
The only reason he tolerates Patrick is cause Henry likes having him around, that's it.
Patrick likes causing others pain, poking fun at them, and doing anything that amuses him, especially to those who react easily, Vic unfortunately is one of those people.
Patrick does find Vic amusing, mostly due to his reactions to things, he doesn't really care much for him outside of that.
Essentially, Patrick ragebaits, Vic falls for said ragebait.
♛Peter Gordon
Just like Belch, these two are incredibly close.
The only two of the BG boys who are the closest to 'normal'. They aren't afraid to be sad or scared in front of each other or talk about their feelings or do anything that's seen as 'less masculine' in front of each other.
Peter is rich and has TONS of money to spend, and likes to buy his friends things as gifts, but only if they're 'well behaved' aka, not being douchebags and assholes. You can guess that out of everyone in the group, Vic is the one who gets the most gifts simply because he isn't as extreme as the others, that plus he can tell when he's in the wrong and when to stop (MOST of the time atleast...)
Peter also buys these things for Vic without wanting anything in return, Vic of course LOVES this and loves being spoiled without having to pay anything back, though sometimes he does feel a bit guilty, until he's once again reminded that Peter is rich.
These two are the type who could sit in a silent room together for hours doing two completely different things it'd be completely normal for them.
They would 100% be a LOT closer and hang out more often (more than Vic and Belch do) if Peters schedule was clearer... and if Henry was less of an ass.
𐂂Steve 'Moose' Sadler
Their relationship is more of a 'listener' and 'talker' type thing, that and a brother-like one.
Moose likes talking, a LOT, and he'll ramble on and on about things he finds interesting or likes (Dinosaurs, planes, etc etc...) . Usually, people get annoyed by that or simply don't want to hear about it, Victor does though. As much as Vic doesn't want to admit it, he likes learning new stuff about subjects he isn't very interested in so whenever Moose wants to ramble, Vic is there to listen.
In return, Moose has to let Vic tutor him. Moose isn't the smartest (at all...) and doesn't really care for school, even talking about dropping out a few times, Vic wants him to at least TRY though, so he tries to help tutor him, and to catch him up on a few things he might've missed.
They both enjoy these interactions (Surprisingly) Vic likes the new funfacts and Moose actually learns with the way Vic teaches him (though he doesn't retain much of the information)
⚝Gard Jagermeyer
Brother-like relationship, like Vic & Moose.
They don't see each other often and barely talk much but since Vic is the youngest in the group Gard treats Vic as if he's much younger than he actually is, and as if Vic is his little brother.
Vic doesn't mind this, He's always wanted an older brother anyways. The only genuinely annoying thing is when Gard genuinely forgets how old he actually is due to Gard viewing him as MUCH younger.
Both these two are quite clumsy. Tripping, dropping things, breaking stuff, etc etc, they both do it, though Gard a LOT more than Vic.
Really the only thing they really have in common is their interest in technology and music.
Like Moose, Vic tends to tutor Gard, though Gard finds this embarrassing and will try to avoid it, He finds it shameful that someone younger than him is trying to teach him basic things he should already know.
I reflected a bit on Henry and Mr.Chips, if I recall correctly, Henry befriended that dog for weeks, probably over a month, before poisoning him, such a strange thing to do.
I've had this idea for quite some time but I'm only now getting around to posting it unfortunately </3
I feel like Stan and Victor are the same. Two sides of the same coin if you will. BUT, In the sense that they're both just scared kids.
Victor is in the BowersGang, and Stan is in the LosersClub, Antagonist and Protagonist, that sets them apart already BUT it doesn't erase the fact that with canon info we have (Either it be Books or the Movies) both of them are considered 'Scaredy cats'
In the Movies (And the book? Haven't read it through fully) Stan is fearful of everything going on, he doesn't want to believe that everything Pennywise is doing is real and just wants to spend his summer normally and is in denial about a lot of it. Hell after they get out of the house when Eddie broke his arm he hops on his bike and is the first to leave, almost instantly. He literally stands outside the house scared once all the others decide that they'll help defeat Pennywise before finally deciding to go in with the others and overcoming that fear.
In the book Victor is shown to be more of a doormat with his friends (mostly Henry) And a lot of the stuff Henry does, Victor doesn't agree with, he'll speak up or object to it sometimes, but he never really does anything to actually STOP what Henrys doing and tends to go along with it instead (The book points that out several times) Vic is scared of Henry, the things he does and stuff he says but never actually stops him due to that fear. BUT, at one point, while Vic does remain fearful, he does manage to have one good moment where he warns Bill, Richie and Bev of Henrys deteriorating sanity, unfortunately he doesn't exactly overcome that fear like Stan (kinda) does since he still stays with Henry after.
While the two of them definitely wouldn't get along (Maybe at first...) I feel like the BowersGang and Losersclub definitely have some parallels between some members that can and SHOULD be talked about more often. I feel like it'd open up ideas to more certain dynamics and more in-depth analysis with some characters.
For example: Mike and Henry, theres TONS of stuff to talk about there yet nobody really does.
no one understands mike Hanlon. That man is the living breathing soul of the narrative, half of it depends on him. He is done absolutely dirty by the most recent films. He is one of the sweetest members of the losers. He stayed behind in a town that hated him because of his love for his friends and his care for the future generations of said town. He was the last loser bill could fully remember and was kissed on the cheek by him. He has a dog called Mr Chips and would help out on his parents farm. His dad died of cancer when Mike was just 16. He had to do decades of research on an incredibly traumatising topic for a small chance it might pay off. He had to be the brave one to call all the losers back to Derry and I'm sure he feels guilty for the deaths of both Eddie and especially Stan. Without him the losers wouldn't of known how to attack IT. Without him the Losers wouldn't have even come back. He is so incredibly important and yet no one seems to care about him after he got butchered in chapter two and it is devastating.
