Dear ex-best friend,

I know that you’ll never see this and I’m sure you don’t give a shit anyway but I need to say this. I fucking miss you.

So much has happened since last talked, my grandpa died, my parents sold my childhood home and moved 1.5 hours away, I got engaged. I’m getting married next year, August 9th, 2025.

I’m so excited. I’m so happy. This is what I’ve always wanted. I love Donte more than I’ve ever loved anyone. But you know what breaks my fucking heart?

I always pictured you as by my side whenever I thought about marriage. I pictured you helping me plan. I pictured trying on dresses with you by my side. And I pictured you being the one to stand by me as I got married. Hell, I even pictured doing all that for you when you got married.

But here are…we haven’t spoken in years, messaged on FB 2+ years ago, haven’t seen each other since 2017?… yet I’m sitting on my couch at 10:45pm on a Tuesday night sobbing over the idea of missing my “best friend” and I hate it.

But despite all this, I hope you’re doing fucking well and that’s the sick thing… my sister warned me back when we were sophomores that you didn’t care about me and I should have fucking listened…
