Unfinished but wearable for my con this weekend!
I try not to post too many videos here but the whole point of this skirt is I wanted it to have dramatic movement and Iām just so excited with how itās coming along!
This skirt has been a dream for me with pleats, ruffles, and gathers! All some of my favorite things to do
The cartridge pleats especially are now super dangerous because I love them so much but they take so much time š
Working on Rosie!
I really wanted to play with cartridge pleats this year and decided to just do them on Rosie to make the skirt really full and fun!
Iām going to add a pink ruffle to the skirt hem and maybe some other details but Iām pleased with the skirt!
A ticket for one day of New York Comic Con is the same price as my 4-day ticket for Fan Expo Canada
NYCC has lost its mind
I wore my āFlorenceā dress to a local cosplay ball last week and got a couple lovely photos back! I also wore the celestial themed corset belt I made last year and it was honestly the perfect touch!

Finally started to pleat my Rosie skirt
I fear I did not allot enough fabric to fully go around my waist
A little story time since tumblr has always been my personal diary
Back in November tickets for Florence and the Machineās current tour went on sale. I pre-registered for Madison Square Garden.
Got to the queue as soon as it opened and there were 10s of thousands of people in front of me. I knew I had no chance for the tickets I wanted at face value
While I was in the queue I checked her socials and saw they had JUST announced a second night at MSG. I decided to take a chance and leave my current queue and go for the new night. I quickly registered and got in with 10 whole people in front of me.
After several minutes of tickets disappearing before I could check out, I got one to stay. It was more money that I expected and I weighed the option of not doing it but decided to use the installment feature with PayPal and just go for it.
Completed checkout and then actually looked at me ticket, realizing that it was a VIP ticket with early entry and free merch. Ahhh
The tour opens in Europe and her stage is this really long catwalk setup. I learn if you have a VIP ticket, youāre guaranteed to be at the barricade, in the front row. AHHH
Iāve never even had a floor or GA ticket for a concert in my life. I have no idea what to expect.
Fast forward to Wednesday, aka, concert day. I met a kind soul while waiting in line who was a veteran attendee for this tour and from Ireland, her first time in New York! She helped me get a good spot at the barricade and we ended up having the best show together.
I was so nervous and didnāt know what to expect to the point where I hope I might get that chance again in the future because I spent so much of the concert in shock and awe (in a good way)
I drove home the next day and all I could think is how badly I wanted to go again with any kind of ticket just to have a bit more lowkey and less nerve wracking experience
Looked at tickets for the next 2 shows (1 in NY and 1 in Jersey) but just couldnāt justify spending the money.
2 hours after I got home, I get a message from a friend asking if I want 2 free tickets to the show the next day.
I say yes.
Wake up the next morning to one of my best friends admitting defeat and telling me she is too sick to go to the concert and asking if Iād go with our other friend so she doesnāt miss out too
I say yes.
I rehome the other tickets I got.
I get back in my car and drive back down towards the city.
Meet up with my friend and we get to see the show again in Brooklyn.
Seeing it from the nosebleeds helps me process my other show and I get some videos of both the show and myself (my favorite thing to do at concerts is record myself randomly so I could look back relive how I felt in those moments)
I drive back home again the next day.
It was incredible, exhausting, made me feel alive in ways I havenāt felt in a long time, and made really hate how much of my life is spent working when thereās so much more out there
Florence only increases her power as my favorite artist. I would follow her anywhere.
See you next tour, King.
((Oh and I when I say I sobbed when Shake it Out came on, I mean SOBBED. Tears running all the way down my neck into my cleavage, ugly cry š))
Throwback to 2 days ago when Florence Welch smiled at me and then held my hand for a few seconds
And I just grinned like an idiot because I didnāt know how to handle it and I still donāt think my brain has processed it was real
Guess who ended up at Florence again tonight
Iām alive but Iām dead
Got to attend a coven gathering to honor our divine goddess, Florence Welch last night
She could punch me in the face and Iād thank her
I donāt know how to process tonight on other socials yet so Iām just sharing some of my photos from the Everybody Scream tour at MSG night 2
I took photos only a couple times and canāt believe I got a few decent shots
Tonight I was at a show that started less than 10 minutes before Artemis II was expected to splashdown
The conductor came out and firstly I was excited because she was a woman and it was the first show Iād seen this season with a female conductor
Then someone a few rows over said something and she laughed and flashed her phone screen to them to show she had the livestream up. She then said sheād asked the theater manager if they could delay just a couple minutes so she could watch it
She propped up her phone on her music stand and as soon as it showed good chutes and a safe landing, she put her phone away and started the show!
Just a really great moment!
Deadline plans
Beltane Ball first weekend in May- Mon Mothma gold dress
NoCoCon 2nd weekend of June- Rosie s2 outfit
Connecticon mid-July: Athena, Star Wars Anastasia, unbeaded Galadriel
Future me, how are we doing?
One of the best feelings is falling in love with a dress you made yourself
Fit check done and next steps confirmed!
Andy Weir is allowed to have his own thoughts and opinions, starting this off with that
The entire tone and feel of his comments about the newer Star Trek series has completely turned me off from being interested in any of his works
It gives me the same feeling as misogynistic men who hate on any series that isnāt TNG or TOS. Or people who cry āwokeā as an easy way to dismiss something theyāve never actually watched
Iāve been avoiding Project Hail Mary posts because I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie but now I donāt care about either.
Ah well, saves me some time and Iāll probably just watch the movie eventually when comes to home video
Creating things I love to wear brings me so much joy. Itās been a while since Iāve actually put my energy into a sewing project and this dress has been exactly what I needed
First fit check of the base dress! This kind of dress really needs video to show the movement
Iāve been having a creative slump but started making real progress on my outfit for the Florence and the Machine concert and itās broken me out of my funk
Pushing through finishing this so I can shift to other projects
