The Cactus Cabin in Southern California

Recently built by Mind Tree Arts using cedar salvaged from naturally fallen trees from the area. The cabin sits on a mountainside in a beautiful cactus garden in the San Gabriel Mountains and is used as a guest house/yoga studio/music practice space.

“Seven incarcerated IL. men received bachelor’s degrees on Wed. in a graduation at Stateville Correctional Center, a maximum security prison just southwest of Chicago. The new college graduates completed Northeastern Illinois University’s University Without Walls (UWW) and Prison + Neighborhood Arts & Education Project (PNAP), a free program that includes an individualized curriculum. Guests at the graduation included Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton and @chancetherapper, who performed. 🙌🏽 🎓 The news media weren’t allowed to attend the ceremony, but afterwards @wbezchicago talked to the keynote commencement speaker — activist & scholar #AngelaDavis. “I decided to participate because I think that education within prisons is so important.
