It Begins!

Hello everyone, this is a blog to track my progress for my first student film, Stays in Motion! While my pitch is still being developed, I can leave you with the purpose of the blog and what to expect from me!

This blog was made specifically to capture checkpoints in my production process for valuable critique from my peers along with being a nice little reminder of where I've been and where I plan to go. I hope to update this blog regularly (at least 3-5 posts a month, fingers crossed).

My hopes for the film is to help me learn more about the creative process while also pushing myself artistically. I plan on doing this by including different backgrounds of different environments to test my digital painting skills.

I only have a semester to make this film, so I'll try my best to make something that is satisfying not just to my peers, but also to me as an animator! Make sure to keep an eye out for this blog and the work that will come with it ;)

Parallax Test

Hello! I've entered production for my film, however since this film is background heavy I spent the past two weeks learning more parallax and compositing effects in Adobe AE. Here is my progress for my first parallax test!

Artist Call Info!

Hello, artists!! My name is Benji and I'm a 2D animator currently in the Production process of my Sophomore film, Stays in Motion.

The film is about a sheep that walks across the world, gathering the attention of passerby animals and a shepherd as they join the sheep on it's journey just for the sake of seeing it through.

My film is focused on ambience and environments so I am looking for a Sound Designer to help see my vision. Here is my animatic with scratch sound to show what I'm looking for!

Mid January Update

Hiya!!!

The first week of the semester is already proving to be a crazy one with a whole lot of commitments. But we keep trucking lol.

I had just finished all of the deliverables for my pitch which you can view here (I will also try to provide it somewhere in my blogs description):

This presentation contains a general mood board for my film along with my story treatment and my schedule which I'll provide here and talk about some more. Nonetheless check out my Canva presentation for all of my deliverables to get a good idea of what I'm going for and what to expect from this film before it even starts production ;)

The Schedule

Apologies if the image is low quality but here is the general synopsis for the first draft of my schedule!! It breaks down where I want to be week by week through this semester as I must finish this film by the beginning of May 2026 (oh my days). The second week has already started so concept art and character designs are coming soon with my storyboard to follow by this weekend (I hope).

The main takeaway from my schedule is that I hope to be fully done with all assets (rough animations, background elements, and scratch sound) by Week 10. This way I can dedicate a lot of time to post production since this is a very environmental film.
