Starry Spoilers
Mon 24 April: Kathy and Zoe return for Amy’s funeral but there is still bad blood between them.
Tues 25 April: When Harry visits Ste in prison, Ste asks him to go to Amy’s funeral and say sorry on his behalf.
Wed 26 April:Â Tony is worried about Harry.
Thurs 27 April: It’s the day of Ste’s sentencing, and Mike gives Ryan a big responsibility.
Fri 28 April:Â Ryan threatens Harry.
Kieron Richardson makes Nick Pickard blush.
Kieron: Do you think doing this little 3 hander has brought us closer together? We have a little special bond now. Nick: I don’t think we can be any closer together, we’re in each others pockets 12 hours a day.
Ste telling Tony that he’s sorry for letting him down was heart breaking. Tony is like the father Ste never had, and despite all that Ste has done in the past, Tony has never really let him down. They have by far the most stable friendship on this show.
What you doing? Don’t be doing that again!
Shout out to Tony Hutchinson for shoving an officer to prevent him from making an arrest.
Time to Say Goodbye...
Rounding up a week in Hollyoaks (27th-31st March 2017)
It may only be March, but this week Hollyoaks treated us to our third death of the year, with poor Amy Barnes becoming the latest resident to be paid a visit by the grim reaper. I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, Amy’s a character I really care about and as a result, her death has more of an impact and I want to know who killed her. On the other hand, it’s yet another death and I can’t help but feel they’ve only killed Amy off so they can do another ‘poor Ste’ story…
The week began with everyone excitedly preparing for Ryan and Amy’s wedding. Well, nearly everyone was excited. Amy’s Mum, Kathy, had got on the wrong train and wouldn’t be attending and Leah was being mardy because she wanted to wear her trainers. However, Amy soon guessed that her daughter’s bad mood wasn’t just about the shoes and she re-assured her and Lucas that nothing would change after she married Ry Ry; she would always be their mum. The wedding went ahead without a hitch, something of a rarity in Hollyoaks, and everyone headed back to the Dog, where the drama began to unfold.
Harry was left fuming when he overheard Scott and James arguing over the fact that Ste had slept with John Paul and angrily confronted his boyfriend in front of everybody. After Harry insulted Leah and Lucas, Ste lunged at him, causing a tray of drinks to fall onto Amy, ruining her dress. With the reception now over, Amy and Ryan returned home and made plans to leave the village the following day, deciding that Ste had once again proved himself to be an unfit Father. Despite being asked to keep the move a secret, Leah and Lucas accidentally let slip Amy and Ryan’s plans to Ste and it was safe to say that he wasn’t happy.
Ste contacted a solicitor and made plans to take out a court order to prevent the kids from leaving the country, however, his hopes were dashed when a judge decided it was in the kids best interests to go to America with Amy and Ryan. What happened after this was all very hazy but later that night, Ryan and Mike returned home to discover Amy dead…
A murder investigation was launched and Ste, unsurprisingly, found himself in the frame. Harry, who was acting incredibly shifty, provided Ste with an alibi, however, his lies were revealed when Leah told DS Armstrong that she’d overheard Ste and Amy arguing. I particularly liked how, in this scene, Leah referred to Ste as ‘Daddy Ste’, rather than just ‘Daddy’. The poor kid’s had so many Daddys, after all. With Ste carted off for questioning, DS Armstrong used some very unorthodox techniques and soon had Ste confessing to Amy’s murder…
Meanwhile, Leah was struggling to come to terms with her Mother’s death and ran off. She was soon found by Zack and Leela at The Bean and she admitted that she’d gone there to feel close to Amy as no one wanted to talk about her. In a lovely scene, Zack spoke to Leah about his experience of losing his sister and how he’d attached a message to a balloon in the hope that it would reach her. This seemed to cheer Leah up somewhat and later, Mike, Ryan, Leah and Lucas released balloons in Amy’s memory.Â
Finally, onto Mercedes, Scott and James. For some inexplicable reason, Mercedes and Scott broke into James’ flat and stole some expensive barrister wigs, intending to sell them, and some amusing audition tapes from James’ student days. James soon discovered what the pair had done and once again reiterated that he wouldn’t go to the police if Scott obeyed his every command. I really don’t get why Scott and Mercedes are continuing to target James. They’re bloody lucky that James has decided not to report them and it’s annoying how it seems like we’re expected to be on their side here. No. They’re acting like a pair of tools!Â
5 Things We Learnt This Week:
1. Don’t ask Leah to wear ‘Princess shoes’. She’s a feminist, don’t you know?
2. It would seem that Myra’s and Mercedes’ clothes are very easy to mix up…
3. James was a big fan his law school’s drama society.
4. Diane’s ability to use a washing machine leaves a lot to be desired.Â
5. Scott and Mercedes’ pillow fight must never be spoken about.
One Last Thing:
Far too much leopard print! What an eyesore!Â
