Name/Designation: Axel
Gender: Intersex Male
Species: Robot
Chronological Age: Somewhere in the teenage years.
Physical Age: less than a year old.
Appearance:
Axel can be a very silly robot at times, cracking jokes and making horrible puns at almost any opportunity. Most of the humans and robots he has talked to got annoyed rather quickly with him due to his unwillingness to ‘grow up’ and do something constructive with his life. However, Axel around close friends can be a very serious and depressed person due to his past. In fact, the happy-go-lucky personality he usually sports is just a cover for his growing depression and anger. Axel is very angry at the world and the people in it for many different reasons. Some of which only he knows.
Axel is very stubborn, and will not usually hang around humans. He spends most of his time around Ray, and is usually never seen in his true form.
Likes: Great weather, other bots, destruction, Lilly, Ray, Beck (later on)
Dislikes: humans, programming errors
//Note: Some plot points in this story may or may not be canon. The main example of this is that Dr. White is related to Dr. Blackwell. I’m assuming that Dr. White is Dr. Blackwell’s son, but this could be non-canon. you’ve been warned!//
Axel was created by Dr. Blackwell as a way to patch things up with his son, Bill Blackwell. Now known as Dr. White, Axel originally was a design that Bill had created in his child years that never got anywhere, mainly due to the technology at the time.
But times change, and with it technology prospers. After the events in which trinity is revived and reformed, Axel is created by Dr. Blackwell using a modified synthetic heart routine that the old man made himself. His abilities are as close as he remembered Bill describing them in his memory, and what he doesn’t remember he adds something that could be useful to the bot later on. He is made to fight, and given a unique Xel program that if discovered by the wrong hands could lead to disaster.
Axl wasn’t quite made for Colosseum fighting, he was made for wars. Battles in which there was no clear winner. He was outfitted with a rapid fire arm canon that he can shoot in any direction. However, the Unique Xel program was something that Dr. Blackwell was the most proud of.
Axel had the ability to copy the Xel data of nearly any robot and transform into them. Retaining their personality data was a part of the transformation, and if Axel really wanted to he could probably sneak in unnoticed into any secure facility while transformed. Any scanners that would scan for Xel data would only see the data of what he was currently transformed into and not his own data.
How Dr. Blackwell managed to create Axel and send him away after completion was beyond the prison staff when they found out. Dr. Blackwell also deleted all blueprints and code data upon the discovery of Axel by the authorities. Even pictures of the bot were destroyed, so no one knew what he looked like while not using the Xel data of others.
Axel was left to wander the streets of America for a few months before he got his first transmission from his creator from prison. At that time, Axel was living with a nice human family who took him in. He also had a robot friend named Lilly who was their housemaid. (Her design is Call design B from the kickstarter.)
Dr. Blackwell started to explain why Axel was created. As a way to patch things up with his son, Bill Blackwell. Or Dr. White as he was now known. He told Axel that there was another reason to his creation, but all would be explained in due time. For now Axel should enjoy himself.
Things did not last forever, though. Some worker bots were acting odd and attacked the house while everyone was still inside. There was no stopping them, and only Axel survived the destruction. As he was a true war bot, the rogue worker bots were easily disposed of. But Lilly and his family were gone...
Out of fear that he would be blamed for the carnage, Axel fled. Going into hiding anywhere he could. It was at this point that he stumbled across Ray, hungry and cold in the place he was currently hiding out in. He immediately felt bad that she had to suffer like this, always cold and hungry... So he gave her some Xel copy data that he had stored in his body.
This seemed to help ease her hunger and cold, but from the look of her condition she would get hungry again. Axel offered to help her feed in exchange for company and protection. Two bots were better than one when it came to spotting things, and Ray looked like she needed all the help she could get.
So Axel went out into the city to farm Xels for her when he could, and it did take a while to earn her trust. But soon the two were inseparable just like Axel and Lilly were before the incident. Axel always seemed to help Ray keep herself under as much control as he could, but anything could change at any given moment.
Ray told him about wanting answers from the same person he had been searching for, Dr. White. While Axel was unsure about harming the other bots, he couldn't refuse to help Ray. One day Ray went out on her own to get answers from Dr. White herself without telling him. Axel was worried sick about her disappearance, and searched everywhere for her. The next thing he saw was her being escorted into a truck designed to contain robots, and that’s when he lost his cool. While making it look like it was all her, Axel helped Ray escape from the humans. Promising her that he would help her find the answers, no matter how long it took. He would do all he could to make her comfortable in her current predicament.
He would help her find the answers she needed, and answers surrounding his own creation as well.
