I know I haven’t really posted here in awhile... life has been ugh, recovery is hard, wah wah I won’t bore you with the details. But I’ve been trying to get back into music lately, and this is the first thing I’ve managed to record all the way through. I don’t really know what I’m doing, and I *really* don’t know shit about mixing/mastering, but I figured what the fuck I’ll share it here anyway. It’s a cover of the Evelyn Evelyn version of Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart”, with ukulele, a couple of synths, and some vocals. Enjoy. Or don’t. Whatever works.

I think the hardest I’ve ever cried at a concert was while hearing this cover for the first time at the SF show at the fillmore.
Rare Photos of Frida Kahlo as a Young Woman in the 1920s
Taken in the 1920s, the photos present Kahlo—who was born in 1907—as a young woman. Set in various locations over the course of a number of years, the photos trace Kahlo’s journey into early adulthood. Some of them appear to be formal portraits of the artist. These photos were likely taken at National Preparatory School, where Kahlo was enrolled in 1922. In addition to traditional portrayals, casual shots with family, friends, peers, and her husband, fellow artist Diego Rivera, also comprise the collection of rare photographs. Even in such informal situations, Kahlo seldom smiles—a persona she would retain in future photographs and stoic self-portraits. (Source)
