Also, the U.S. did not enter WW2 for altruistic reasons, as we are often led to believe. The day after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the U.S. unanimously voted to declare war on Japan. We only ended up at war with Germany (and Italy) because they had an agreement with Japan.
World powers, historically speaking, do not care what atrocities are committed in foreign countries unless it affects one of two things: their money or their power. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor to try and destabilize or decrease the U.S. naval presence in the Pacific, because they knew that if the U.S. got involved, it could be a problem. But the U.S. had only been debating the possibility of entering the war before that attack. It could've taken months, possibly even years, to garner enough votes to attack any of the Axis powers. But then they were bombed. A direct threat, and a taunt: if the U.S. didn't respond with force, it could mean they were too weak or didn't believe they could win. The Pearl Harbor attack very specifically targeted military equipment. Two thousand miltary personnel and dozens of civilians died, but the people were not the targets. So the U.S. declared war, not because Hitler was attempting to genocide Jews out of existance, but because it would look bad if they didn't.
And lets not forget that they proceeded to throw pretty much every Japanese immigrant/Japanese-American citizen they could find into internment camps. Our own sick little imitation concentration camp, that were juuuust humane enough not to be called that.
Every single world power let Hitler keep going until he was a threat to their sovereignty. Enough people in power didn't bother to care until it was potentially their own necks on the line. And here we are, watching it happen again. Only it's so much worse, because the genocidal maniacs are showing us in damn near real time how hard they are trying to wipe Palestine and it's people off the face of the earth... and just how eager other powers are to keep handing them the bombs.
