2026 is the new 2016?
Well Tumblr, it's good to see you again. In fact, I thought you left?
Up until 2016, Tumblr was thee hottest thing, then Vine... (RIP), and now tiktok has consumed my life lol.
Well. What have I been up to since then & why does it seem like a lifetime?
Started my first real big-girl job in 2014 at a Healthcare company. I was there for about 7.5 years. (long ass run, I know lol.) But for good reason. The people I worked with were so amazing and fun to be around, coming into work every day was like getting paid to hang out with friends. Until covid happened.
2020 - Going into the office every day shifted to remote. I got covid probably twice (?). I lost my first grandparent the same day we were told to start working from home. I wasn't able to see him on his last day/day of his funeral because of strict covid rules. Working at home was a convenience, but living with parents and WFH is the worst. My work mentality began to decline because I also didn't care to do the work anymore once management changed. I ended up leaving that company in Nov 2021 and took a month off to just relax and not think about anything lol.
2022 - I started my (now) job at yet another Healthcare company that specializes in care for Autism. I was referred by an old colleague and I work with some of the same people at my last company, so it's kind of like I never really left. That good reason I mentioned earlier? When you meet great people and leave an impression, they remember you.
I got the chance to visit so many new places during these past few years, but last year was my ultimate favorite. We traveled internationally to Japan and Korea for the first time! This was our first international trip so there was a LOT going on. We were there for about 2 weeks and it was SO much fun. I want to go back, ASAP. There's absolutely nothing like it here :'). We also got engaged there - yeah I know, FINALLY! lol. I wish there were better pictures of this moment, but Mt. Fuji was covered by clouds by the time we got there. You can say this trip was memorable. To end the year, we also purchased our first home! If that doesn't scream adulthood, idk what does lol. Here comes the broke.
So it definitely is another chapter for me/us.
Welcome to my 30s everyone, enjoy the ride. <3
