born to a luxury hotel owner and personal chef, stella was in a life of privilage from the very beginning. when she expressed an interest in pursuing entertainment as a child, her parents set her up for pageants, modeling and eventually, acting classes. they gave her all the opportunities a child could have, and while the boston scene wasn’t quite as intense as those in new york or los angeles, her name was soon being mentioned from producers who could actually do something with her.
it wasn’t long until she was able to snag a role in a small indie film that suddenly exploded - her entire career is thanks to fly over, a drama that took over cannes, sundance and more. offers started rolling in afterwards, and when she managed to land the leading role of a new hbo show crash - a ‘friends’ meets ‘sex and the city’ for the current day 20 something - she knew she’d truly made it.
now, she works on movies in between seasons of the show she’s been on for almost six years, and travels in her free time as often as possible. she has a dog named bear she takes with her everywhere, and visits her mother and brother in boston whenever she gets a chance. while she seems to have everything and then some, there’s always something missing - stella is, ultimately, a romantic, and hopes she can somehow find her one true love, even in the chaos and misery that often accompanies fame.
maybe parties were starting starting to lose their appeal to joaquin. earlier in his career he would have been ecstatic to have have his name on any list, no matter how boring the actual event turned out to be but now? he was starting to appreciate the safety of home, the comfort in curling up in bed, getting ready to binge-watching the latest shitty netflix show and falling asleep half an episode in. maybe age was starting to catch up with him but there was still some excitement to be found, sneaking around like teenagers in search of something decent to drink.
“doesn’t look opened, i think we should try it for him. you know, just to make sure it isn’t poisoned or somethin’. ” joaquin mused as he took the whiskey bottle and twisted it open, then raising it to his nose to smell. he guessed it was expensive but with little care, he grabbed a glass off the bar and filled it half way, handing it over to stella before filling a glass for himself. “well, cheers to a great party. may all the rest that follow dare try and compete.”
💄
stella nodded solemnly; “we’d hate for hollywood’s newest director to be poisoned at his own halloween party,” she agreed, taking the glass he poured for her and clinking it against his before taking a sip. it burned, the taste much stronger than the watered down tequila out on the back deck where the party was being held, and she let it simmer through her before taking another sip, grateful to have something to dim the edges of boredom.
“i probably sound like a brat,” she sighed, collapsing into one of the wingback chairs and swirling the whiskey around in her glass, “but these parties used to be more fun, didn’t they?” maybe she was getting old - a terrifying thought at only thirty three - or maybe fame just lost it’s shine after awhile. “it wasn’t always just trying to talk my way into new projects with people who i can barely tolerate, was it? didn’t it used to be about enjoying ourselves?”
Married. Leo Davis was officially off the market. He knew it in his bones the moment he met his wife that she would be the one to take his name. Though it was safe to confess in his own head that he had felt that way about every other ex girlfriend for a fleeting moment. But here he was in the home he made, and had been searching for since he was ten. “I–” He found himself too stunned to speak as the image of Stella had rushed past him. The absolute last person he had expected to see on his doorstep and straight into the foyer of his multi-million dollar home. Especially when he was expecting to greet someone from Samsung to fix his washer. He followed her in once he had closed the door.
“Uh, thank you.” Leo grabbed the present that she had held out to him with a look of caution and confusion. She had said and done so much in so little time. He still felt like he was catching up to the fact that she was in front of him. He balanced the package in his arms and idly hoped it wasn’t another kitchen appliance as he led her into the kitchen. “We didn’t want anyone to know. You know how the media gets.” He informed her as he set the present on the kitchen’s island. “I guess it finally leaked.” He scratched at the long scuff on his face before motioning for her to sit if she wanted to at the island’s stool chairs. He didn’t know what details an ex would wanna know about another ex’s wedding so he kind of stared at her for a beat too long before giving up one detail. “I wore black.”
💄
“It did - though, to be fair, you know they get the story out of everyone eventually. I give you guys props for not selling your wedding out to a magazine, though.” There was plenty of that lately - a trend of pretending to be just about showcasing the love of two people that was really just about showing off how pretentious the couple was more than anything. Her own wedding, whenever it was and to whomever she found, would definitely be small. Private. Preferably on the beach.
An eyebrow raised, a smirk on her lips, “you wore black,” she repeated, amused more than anything else. “C’mon, Leo. You can give me more than that. You don’t think I’m going to be jealous, do you? It’s been....” she trailed off, trying to figure out the amount of years since they’d actually dated ( awhile ), or the last time they hooked up ( not as long, unfortunately ), before shrugging her shoulders. “I meant it - I’m genuinely happy for you. I know you always wanted the One. I’m glad you found her. Everything’s really coming up Leo these days, huh?”
stella comes to congratulate the newlywed. ( lmao. )
to say it had been a shock was an understatement; a single text from an old mutual friend - did you see the news? - with a tweet to a picture of leo and his current beau. married.
stella was fine. she absolutely was not bitter, because leo deserved to be happy. ( she deserved to be happy too, but that wasn’t the point. ) she wasn’t annoyed, because leo had found someone he cared about enough to ensure a ‘forever’ with. ( her last relationship had been two weeks long, with a surfer who called her ‘dude’ more than her own name, but, whatever. ) it was not a competition, and stella would prove herself, once again, to being a better person than her brain truly wanted her to be.
besides, who didn’t need a blender?
she didn’t even entertain the thought that maybe she should have called or texted or, hell, emailed to just say congrats - no, she showed up at his doorstep, box wrapped in elegant wrapping paper, and a smile on her face as she rang his doorbell.
they were still friends, after all. it would have been rude to ignore this huge milestone in his life.
“congratulations!” she exclaimed when he finally opened the door, not even giving him a second to realize it was her there and not the amazon delivery guy. “i can’t believe you didn’t tell me, but i wanted to hear all about it - from the horse’s mouth, so to speak. i even brought you a present,” she offered, holding out the package with a ( only slightly manic ) smile. “it’s been too long since we’ve caught up, and i want to know everything.”
“ i’m sure someone would know the answer to that question, if you asked. ” therese shrugs. “ but in my experience, the stronger the alcohol, the worse the taste. which begs the question: if you’re trying to get wasted, why not drink something nicer in higher quantities ? ” then again, therese’s standards are different to most people’s. they’ve been told quite a few times that they have expensive tastes.
💄
she would blame the tequila for speaking without checking her surroundings; her nose crinkled in distaste when she noticed therese there, though she quickly swallowed her shot and would blame it on the alcohol if questioned. it wasn’t that she didn’t like them, it was more that the two of them were simply...incompatible. oil and water. still, stella knew better than to be outwardly hostile towards them - her own career would be tanked, immediately, if she was on the wrong side of such an acclaimed director. “i wasn’t trying to get wasted, necessarily,” she said calmly, “just pointing out that this is an incredibly dull party. i went to basement parties in high school that had more life than this. you can’t tell me you’re finding this ‘fun’.”
“exactly, always something naughty happening at one of these parties.” this party? maybe not but joaquin remained hopeful, there had to be something which could liven everyone’s spirits, some better alcohol mainly but he’d take some scandalous action as well. he stubbed out his cigarette and downed what was left of the pathetic liquor in his glass before standing up. “come on, i want to find the person who thought it was okay to hand this shit out.” playfulness laced around his words, an excitement to finally be doing something that evening that wasn’t sitting and smoking in a corner.
💄
stella laughed brightly; joaquin was an easy person to do that with, willing to help her break out of her shell and find some entertainment with her. she led the way for them both - the mansions these parties were hosted in were all the same, cookie cutters with too many hallways and not enough doors - hoping to find an office of some sort. “i would kill for a decent tequila,” she admitted, finding an office of some kind with a soft ‘a-ha!’ before heading straight for the bar. “but maybe this whiskey will suffice - what do you think, should we break into it and liven this show up? i mean, who really wants to work with a director who throws boring shindigs like this. we’d be doing him a favor, really.”
stella’s reputation certainly preceded her, given her rocket launch to fame since her hbo show — nico had worked with her on a few occasions, but he’d considered her for a lead on his upcoming project.
turning back to the very green actor, nico nods. “ah — so you’re looking for a role in my new project, yes?” referring to his new limited series, of course. after all, television was the new frontier in media. he turns back to stella again, curious. “but really, do you really think they’d make a better lead in my new series than you, miss garcia?”
💄
“depends on what the role is,” she shrugged, a feigned casual smile on her face. “i mean, some say i am the ‘one to watch’, but everyone has to get their start somewhere.” after all, it wasn’t so long ago really that she was in the others shoes - trying to get anyone to take a chance on her, doing what she had to to knock out the competition. now she was more established, comfortable - roles were offered instead of auditions - but that didn’t mean she had to be complacant, either.
“how is the work going on that, by the way?” she asked, genuinely curious. nico had an incredible vision, and working with him on a television show would have been an incredible opportunity. “no angle, i promise,” she smiled, letting her hand rest gently on his bicep, “i know this is a whole new medium for you now, right? how are you feeling about it all?”
“Those types of party favors tend to be passed around in dark corners and fancy bathrooms, don’t they?” Kat only dabbled here and there, but this party was particularly bland. Everyone seemed to be on the best behavior, but the blonde knew that it never lasted that long. “Perhaps we’re just in the wrong place. The real party is happening elsewhere.”
💄
“What we need to find is someone who looks like they’re up to no good.” The scandals that got squashed from company events were more often than not barely worth reporting, but if the public knew that they were, really, just ordinary people - well, the shine wore off, they didn’t pay for their movies, and then Stella couldn’t have afforded her newest shoes. “What do you say we go find some - or make some, if we can’t find it,” she added with a grin, offering her arm to link with Kat’s.
stella resides in a home big enough for herself & those closest to her if they ever need a place to stay. bright colors on all her walls, you can find blankets thrown everywhere and pictures and art strewn on all the walls. she loves velvet fabrics, tile flooring and nooks and crannies for all her books and magazines. sweaters on the backs of chairs, notebooks half full of shopping lists left on shelves, and open windows to let the scent of her garden flowing through the home.

one master bathroom - stella’s, complete with a claw tub and shower stall
one full bathroom - between two of the bedrooms, used primarily by the roommate and occasionally the godchild when they’re spending the night
one half bath - located off the living room primarily for guests
other rooms -:-
open concept kitchen / dining / living room -
the kitchen is painted a vibrant yellow with teal cabinets, a large island counter where dinners and quick meals are usually eaten, and usually filled with sounds and fresh baked foods of some capacity in it.
it segues into a dining room, complete with an eight person dining table with mismatching luxurious chairs, a small chandelier above it and the sliding doors to the backyard are accessible by the dining table.
the living room is connected to the main hallway and dining room through an open doorway - there’s a wall between the two rooms, but the doorway is big enough to take up nearly half the wall and you can easily see into the kitchen from the living room.
the living room has a cushiony velvet couch, a scattering of stools and ottoman’s, and a deep loveseat. a fireplace is located on one side of the room, the television affixed to a wall, and magazines litter the coffee table as well as baskets of blankets tucked into corners. the walls are all mismatched wallpaper, covered in art and photos of stella’s life. this is the main room people occupy when visiting stella’s if they’re not in the backyard.
a main entrance leads you either into the living portion of the house, or to the bedrooms - stella’s office is the first bedroom, followed by her roommates and her god childs, with hers taking up the back portion of the house. there’s another entrance to the backyard through stella’s master bedroom, as well as her bathroom.
backyard -
stella’s prime pride and joy is her backyard - the reason she decided to buy a house instead of renting an apartment. though not a large size, it holds a modest sized pool, hot tub, lounge chairs and a dining table, some grass and a tasteful garden around the edge.
she keeps a smaller garden underneath the kitchen windows with herbs and plants - primarily, she’s attempted to grow tomatoes and cucumbers - but she likes to try one new vegetable a year.
there’s a grill and picnic table in the grass for cookouts in the summer months, and the backyard has lights strung along the side of the house and the pergola attached to the home.
her flowers tend to be marigolds, poppies, and others that grow best in a desert heat, but she also has a few cacti along the edge of the home as well.
her backyard is her favorite place to be - she usually spends her morning on the porch with a cup of coffee, watching the sunrise over her pool before starting her day.
general notes -:-
the house is a splash of color in every room - her bedroom is dark jewel tones, but the rest of the house is vibrant and bright.
there are candles all over the place. despite the heat, she loves the aromas and lights them fairly regularly.
there is a fireplace in both the living room and her bedroom, though the one in her bedoom holds a candle display instead of firewood.
stella regularly hosts people at her home - she wants it to be a place people enjoy coming to, whether it’s just to drop in or spend hours in.
she has a wine cabinet in the dining room with a variety of wines to choose from - some expensive, but mostly run of the mill wines.
coming off her first movie success, she bought the house outright - her plan is to give it to someone ( her own children, or her god child ) one day when the time comes. because of this, she doesn’t really worry about rent from her roommate, and primarily just has them split the cost of utilities instead.
bear, her dog, has a doggie door so he can roam in the backyard when she’s not home - the backyard is fenced in, so they don’t need to worry about him getting out. he likes to spend his afternoons lounging on the warm brick of the porch but follows stella around whenever she’s home.
stella’s home is in a quieter neighborhood of los angeles - sherman oaks - and she doesn’t try to showcase her financial status. her home is about comfort and warmth more than anything, and she wants it to feel that way for everyone.
“i don’t think another is gonna help, unless you fancy going straight from the bottle.” joaquin pointed out from where he was sitting, a dwindling cigarette perched between two fingers dangling off the edge of his chair. he knew he could take his alcohol but had they been replacing the vodka with water? did no one like to have fun anymore? “they’re probably hiding the good stuff inside somewhere, want to go take a look?”
stella frowned; when she first burst onto the scene, almost a decade ago, parties had been glamorous, exciting. every chance was a new adventure - you never knew who you would see, or what you might see. now, she was....bored with it all. or maybe it was that she was just bored period. “anything has to be better than this,” she said with a soft sigh, leaving her shot glass on the table for one of the caterers to grab. “and if not, i’m sure someone’s doing something they’re not supposed to, and that is always fun to walk in on.”
“Another day another botox rumour.” Julian mused, his nose crinkling up slightly as he dropped the magazine in his hands onto the table. “Honestly the day my age finally catches up to me I hope they feel bad for all the assumptions. Then again maybe by that point I’ll actually be getting botox.”
“Please,” Stella laughed easily, “you’re going to look twenty until you die - I’m pretty sure you could still play a high schooler on the CW and get away with it.” Not that she could complain - it was a gift, really, for an actor to look so young. “We both know they’re just jealous they have to use a thousand creams and solutions that never work to try and not look every bit the washed up has been they all pretend they’re not.”
“no go on — this is incredibly fascinating.” nico takes a sip of his drink before turning to someone besides him. “tell me, are they always this fascinating?”
stella smirked; she’d only been half paying attention - the newbie in front of them wasn’t really worth her time, quite frankly, but she knew better than to burn her bridges in this world. “i haven’t had the pleasure of finding out myself,” she said agreeably enough, “but you can’t blame them for being a little starstruck around here. you are a pretty big deal.”
“i think i’m going to need another drink;” for a group of people who liked to perform and dress up, this party was surprisingly dull. then again, she’d learned long ago that sponsored events tended to be more boring than the paparazzi made them look. “do you think they have something stronger than tequila? i thought halloween was supposed to be an excuse to act out.”
upon moving to los angeles full time, stella bought a small home for herself - perfect for starting a life and a family. unfortunately, the latter hasn’t happened - so she’s rented out the spare bedroom so she won’t be as lonely or stare at empty walls. the two get along well enough, but living together has it’s ups and downs regardless, no matter what.

constant co-star is open for connections - any gender / age / faceclaim
stella had to do what she needed to get to the top, and that meant stepping on some people along the way - unfortunately, [ YOUR MUSE ] was a threat to her impending fame, and the two have been at each others throats since they first auditioned for the same movie years ago. stella won that particular fight, but [ YOUR MUSE ] has won their own fair share - the press love to egg them on, and many wonder if it’s simply for more mentions on page six, but their hatred for one another is as real as it gets.

↬ her long time best friend ♔ _____________________________
stella and [ your muse ] found each other in college at ucla their freshman year in the laundry room - away from home for the first time, the two bonded over trying to figure out how to navigate the ‘real world’ even while in the protective bubble of college.
the two became thick as thieves almost immediately - even when [ your muse ] almost left entirely due to a surprise pregnancy and sudden child. but with stella’s help ( as well as the support from [ your muse ]’s family ) they managed to graduate only a semester later than she did, with a new baby on their hip and the world at their fingertip.
[ your muse ] and stella have managed to continue their friendship over the past fifteen years through ups and downs, highs and lows - stella’s the godmother to their child, and has seen them through as many heartache’s as they’ve seen stella through. the two are practically inseparable, and often joke that they may as well just be married themselves.
long time best friend is open for connections - any gender / faceclaim around the age of 33.
additional details for this connection ______________________
this connection can be mixed with either/both of the previously stated ( roommate & slow burn romance ) connections, though if it is a romantic dynamic, stella is primarily heterosexual and would prefer a male significant other.
[ your muse ] and their relationship that resulted into the baby ( as well as everything about the baby & their life ) is really up to you! i just kind of wanted an opportunity for ‘old friends who are basically family’, and for stella to have a child to dote on endlessly.
stella & her godchild are extremely close, and she often lets them spend the night in her home - they even have a room as their own with her.
she takes her role as godmother seriously, and while she was a practicing catholic growing up and doesn’t often attend services as much anymore, she does ensure that she holds up the spiritual aspect of the godmother title as well.
this is primarily meant to be a platonic connection, however, it could be used as a jumping off point for a slow burn romantic relationship with male muses if interested.
if interested in this connection, please send a tumblr im to discuss further.
