Agrippa makes his rounds in Xequoir, and discovers a woman by a certain grave.
Dnd later tonight and honestly who knows what's going to happen we might tpk we might not, who knows? We've been doing relatively fine surviving and all that so far. In the years we've played we've had close scrapes but still made it out mostly.
[Maya, the Cursed Children, and the identity of their Father]
It's long so under the cut it goes.
Note, apparently there have been hints on who Maya's father is (Phoebe's party member) from the initial Patchwork Party campaign. I can dig through my notes ig but all it is currently is like:
The Cursed Children (Maya and her siblings who include Azarr, Claire etc) are an existed who were blessed by their father from a very early age (unclear which era) where he imparts his virtues into them.
However because Fate hates the family they got cursed. (sins of the father thus the children are punished kind of thing).
Originally they were blessed in the hopes that they can work together to "find their father" and overcome their great trial.
Every cycle of their life they are now Fated to kill each other over and over, and become forgotten in the throes of history.
Great trial obviously ties to Fate and perhaps the final trial. It's the most major trial in the overall Fate plotline in Izelth. <- Speculation obv
If Fate hates their father cus sins of their fathers style, I can only really think of like, the Dawn War* in Izelth which is the catalyst and reason for why the Ninefold Dragon made Fate to begin with.
The goal of the children is to find their father and overcome their trial. Finding their father to me, is a key point because why? Why is their father significant to be in the eyes of Fate + needing to have a whole quest to find him.
------------------------
Some memories and associations the Cursed Children have is Aurvundall, a famous figure in Izelth; the silver knight who created the city of Xequoir, and a wielder of the Prismatic Blade.
The Prismatic Blade is the whole version of Stormwing (Currant Dahlia campaign), the Just and the Dread, and Moonblade the Serene (Latter three Patchwork campaign).
Although, I don't know if this connection is a coincidence or not. Azarr and his people had the Just and Dread. Claire/Aster have ties to Aurvundall as well, especially since Claire is one of the Scions.
Also, in the Icewind Dale campaign** the Keepers party find the Cursed Children (Azarr, Aster, Harozem, Maya) as children in this cycle. They are together, and Aster is drawn to the grave of Erevan (Aurvundall's descendant and also Phoebe/Maya's other party member).
But I include this because the Prismatic Blade is a shard of the Shattering Star; created after the Dawn War and is a being that will show during the final trial to judge if man (general) can chart their own destinies without Fate to determine it for them.
------------------------
I know that the Icewind Dale campaign takes place in the Age of Dusk, closer towards the final trial of Izelth iirc. The Keepers party were told by Pelor that they had to "end the rime and decide how this world ends."
Hm.
On one hand I'm missing more pieces since Patchwork campaign I only took notes of scenes Phoebe was in (and we had a different vc channel for secret scenes). On the other hand I might be overthinking by drawing hints from other campaigns.
On my third hand I can put a tin foil hat on and tie the Cursed Children to the Shattering Star. But at the same time, their Father does have a evil corrupted fragment that either is or used an Exalted of his own (Ghost Knife) so honestly who knows.
But it is funny to tin foil hat and say, yeah, I think the Shattering Star is their father. It is SPECULATION, also there's a lot of doubt especially with not enough info. Like I don't think Fate despises the Shattering Star, and the purpose of the Shattering Star is to judge if people can overcome Fate. There's enough to debunk this, surely, lmao.
It's a nonsense theory, I like throwing those out there.
Though, I do say that, but the Prismatic Blade has a role to slay the corrupted fragments of Fate (the corrupted(?) Aegis) a la Nimue's pact, but I don't know if that's enough to hate the Shattering Star as a whole.
*corrupted(?) because I need to clarify if it's specifically the corrupted ones or all Aegis. Just to be sure I'm getting that correctly.
However, I do think at the very least, their Father has some tie to what happened during the Dawn Era. That, to me, is a big enough clue considering what I know of Fate. Like what would Fate hate knowing what it is, yknow?
-------------------------
DM can't say anything to this so he has to live with me giving him whatever.
*Dawn War: It is a dnd thing because it's tied to the Dawn War pantheon which Izelth uses. However, I know that parts have been altered to fit in Izelth.
**Icewind Dale campaign: It is a dnd module where it was originally set in the Forgotten Realms, but again, the campaign has been altered to be set in Izelth.
I really do want to make a party page on my wiki even though it's not particularly needed. Ig cus I can always link it, but the sections already kind of give an idea who the party is already.
