i think it SOOOO interesting how the boys has a scene in season 1 where they talk about how annie being the strong one is often the problem in a lot of her relationships and that hughie being ok with it is really huge and important.
and then they have him save her. all the fucking time. because they keep PLAYING IN HER FACE and NERFING HER every chance they get. every rando on the block beats the brakes off of her because they just can’t handle her ACTUALLY being strong.
this is even more insulting considering her arc last season where coming to terms with accepting herself and her past and who she really is created a stronger connection with her powers?? setting up her being more powerful?? and the problems are WORSE than they’ve ever been!
starlight is easily the biggest victim but victoria dying to butcher’s “incredibly strong tentacles” that don’t do SHIT to any male supes
sage, the SMARTEST PERSON ON THE PLANET, doesn’t account for the most simple plot twist for reasons that were ALREADY ESTABLISHED weren’t a weakness for her (which is absolutely racism as well)
kimiko can’t do shit. even fucking STORMFRONT is the ONLY v1 supe who has been mutilated beyond recognition at this point and i just don’t think that’s a coincidence anymore! (and dgmw i’m glad it happened but none of that other nazi posse has gotten even remotely the same fate thus far)
