5 REASONS Why I don't collect Wigs

Hello~ Its my first blog of the year! (yahooo~!)

2014 is gonna be my 4th year of cosplaying & also, I've spent much already (but somehow it's controlled^^). Like other cosplayers, I also love wigs, but I dont want to collect them. I was a comic book collector/anime merchandise collector when I was in highschool & I only ended up throwing them away because I dont have much space in my room (honestly ~.~")

Here are the reasons..

WHY I DONT COLLECT WIGS:

1. Money- Know your limitations for cosplay & know your personal/ everyday needs

2. Space- I will not have space for non-cosplay items like new shirts in which I can use everyday

3. Cause for continuous collection- NO.. no, I must resist! It will become a habit

4. Stock- they are only in stock instead of being used by other cosplayers

5. Hindi po ako mag-aartista or pa-famous- I don't need to collect everything and boast about it someday

Being simple is enough for everyone to appreciate you.

Newbies: To Cosplay or Not?

The Cosplay Community in the Philippines is getting bigger that we can't even notice it. Oh! Are you a Newbie? Want to cosplay too? Nobody is against you but you MUST be prepared before you enter the Cosplay World.

There are many things to consider before Cosplaying:

Do you really want to cosplay?

Are you serious?

Have you watched the anime already?

Do you have enough money to spend w/o asking for your parents?

Can you go to specific locations/ conventions on your own?

Are you willing to take a risk for buying online? or Can you search the whole town for your cosplay needs?

Cosplay is an expensive hobby, if you said YES without a doubt in all these questions, then you can start by simply watching an anime. You've got to love and show your passion for it.

Specially..cosplay is NOT for:

✘ Being famous and join showbiz once you are discovered, etc.. in short FAME WHORE.

✘ Looking for a new boyfriend/girlfriend that has looks, etc.. in short GUY/GIRL MAGNET.

✘ JEJE-TARDS.

[sees a cheap item 150php] "Free shipping npoh bah toh? Kunin ku pfoe pg free, pa-pm plz."

No offense meant but the truth hurts.

How to AVOID/ Handle Scammers

Your long-earned money can be a waste by being a victim of one holy f* word SCAM. Specially if you are a cosplayer who earns money for his/her own expenses [costumes, wigs, props, budget for cons, etc] and sacrificing his/her Lunch/ Meals just to earn, just to finally get it! So being involved in the cosplay community for 4 years already, I will give some tips on "How to avoid/ handle Scammers":

1. Before you set a deal, its very important to INVESTIGATE first.

2. Be alert it you see his/her Facebook Page is:

Only created days/weeks ago

Have few friends

Have few photos

Different Name [japanese, korean etc] that can be difficult to TAG.

No "About section"

3. While talking/ negotiating, OBSERVE the way he/she speaks/express words. More importantly, AVOID JEJE-tards. Honestly speaking, they are difficult to handle [Magulo kausap On & Off Deal, Malutong mag-mura, Always late for meet ups, etc]

4. Give Deadlines/ Set dates and have them agree in your terms & conditions.

5. Always ask for Legit proofs.

6. Always remind him/her of the Payment dates, Meet up dates. Txt/pm her/him the day before your deal. More importantly.. BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR HOUSE. If he/she still doesn't respond, its a 70/30 chance of cancelled deal.

7. Lastly,

If you are the seller.. make sure you RULE the deal & be honest about the items you are selling.

If you are the buyer.. make sure you KNOW everything to avoid being unsatisfied with the item.

Are you a Nurse?

So here it is, my first blog here in tumblr.

Its been 2 years since I became a Registered Nurse here in the Philippines. I've been in rough times; too much stress, no sleep, no fun, no social life, etc. Doing what you studied for is fun, but it also has limitations. What is the purpose of a nurse? To help/ assist anybody in need. But who will assist the nurses if they are in need? NONE.

Nurses are also human. We all have expenses to be paid for. It is not forever that we must depend on our parents or support us in our financial needs.

Nurses in the Philippines undergo "Volunteerism" which is NOT legal. We undergo endless training/ seminars that hopefully will help us be employed. We always do our best because its our own "License" that's on the road.. but still we are not good enough.

Not all Nurses do want to go abroad and serve other countries. Some wanted to stay in the Philippines to serve our own countrymen. The only reason why Nurses go abroad is because of the LOW PAYING jobs here in the Philippines. Plus, some employers abuse nurses by offering:

"Nurse/ Receptionist; Nurse/ HR assistant; Nurse/ Office Staff"

In short, they all know that there are millions/ thousands of nurses who are unemployed. If they are short on staff, and don't want to hire another for a position, they make job postings like 2 jobs in 1 position. Yes, we work for 2 persons.. even more.

Some situations in Hospitals [specially the public] are honestly not acceptable. 1 Nurse to 50 patients. Hospitals in the Philippines are REALLY SHORT on Staff, but they don't want to hire. Why? Because they can still hire Volunteer Nurses ILLEGALLY.

Because of this, many nurses do career shifting. Many go to Call centers, Sales, Office, etc.

That's the sad truth about Filipino Nurses.
