Another version of the home screen. Still tweaking it a bit. I think I want to take out some of the flowers/plants in the main image. I don’t know. We’ll see.

I’ve been wanting to work on my web design skills lately, so as a side/practice project, I redesigned The Cake Blog’s website. I mean, the site is already great, but I loved all the photos and content on the site, so I thought it’d be perfect to use for this. I’m probably going to do a couple more layouts for the home page, but this was the first one.

I’ve been getting back into baking lately, and The Cake Blog is one of my favorite resources for recipes & tutorials. If you haven’t seen their site, go check it out!

Another concept for the Coffee house logo. Wanted to try a different style, since I have a tendency to use the same types of graphics over and over again. Still playing with colors and what not. This is just another personal project. Well, more like an exercise. I’m really trying to make an effort to design something every day. I think its important to do that for many reasons. Just like with any other skill, you need to practice to improve. The more you do something, the better at it you’ll be, and I want to do that with design.

I have a tendency to get lazy about things. I’ll find myself having spent the entire day playing video games or watching tv and just feeling like trash because I’ve accomplished absolutely nothing. So I know there’ll be days like that, where I do nothing productive at all, but I’m going to make a conscious effort to do something creative everyday. Whether thats designing something, writing a post on here, drawing, painting, whatever. I want to work to improve myself. I don’t want to get stuck.

Anyway, my somewhat serious rant is over now. In regards to this logo, I want to do some other work for it. Stationary set, and I’m working on the coffee cup design. We’ll see
