“You make me sound so young when you go saying it like that” She laughed, shaking her head a little. “Oh I do  too, sometimes I just do it for the hell of it. Adds a little fun to a regular old Wednesday or something” She grinned, of course she did get to dress up..or well down, for her cam shows. “Oh it’s definitely her thing. She loves Halloween on top of it being her birthday so it’s really double the fun” She nodded. “Well I was thinking Gwen Stacy..you know from Spiderman? I mean I already have the blonde hair and everything”

Zelda looked over at the girl, taking the drink from her and gave her a small smile that faded as she watched Stevie look down at her phone. “Stop stressing.” She said softly. “Just…. take it one moment at a time.” She offered a small smile before tipping the glass back to her lips. “I’m sure he’s sleeping or working.” She tried to comfort her

“It’s fine...not a big deal anyways” She let out a short laugh as she locked her phone and tossed it into the drawer in her night stand. “Doesn’t matter” She ran her fingers through her hair, taking a long drink. “Anyways...how’s married life and everything” She smiled slightly. “Are y’all planning anything special for your birthday, that’s coming up pretty soon” She winked

“Ok I have a problem.” Eric said with a small sigh. “ I have to go to an awards event and there could be a chance that I would be receiving an award and I may have to get up and thank people. But here’s the problem. I am shy and awkward and I get anxious when I have to get up and talk to people if its not in a lecture “ He said and bit his lip. “ Should I go to the event or tell them I am unable to attend?”

“Well....” Stevie tapped her fingers against her lip in thought. “It’s not as if they’d take back the award for you if you are unable to attend. People get awards all the time and aren’t present to accept them in person.” She nodded slowly. “But sometimes having someone there with you for the event may help? Like is there a good friend or someone special in your life that might help you a little?” She raised a brow. “If it’s something that makes you genuinely uncomfortable though you don’t need to do it.”

Danny stood in the aisle of the local grocery and sighed. He had no idea what kind of shampoo and conditioner to get Zelda. He picked up one bottle and looked at the back of it. After mumbling to himself, he placed the bottle back and looked around. “ Hey.. I don’t know what shampoos and conditioner to get. What’s the best kind? I haven’t got a fucking clue what I am looking for,”

Stevie had been putting off shopping for entirely too long, to the point where most of her cabinets were bare and she was down to her last few drops of shampoo and body wash. Slowly wandering up and down the aisles she heard a familiar voice and turned. “Depends...is it Zelda’s shampoo you’re looking for? Or are you trying to make your locks all luscious and shiny?” She smirked and raised a brow. “She uses this here” She stood up on her toes to grab one of the bottles from the top shelf. “When in doubt, smell it, it’s pretty distinct” She popped the bottle open and smelled it. “Yep that’s the one”

Zelda frowned a bit but she understood how Stevie was feeling. She’d been there. She exhaled a laugh at the mention of a drink “sure love.” She nodded, combing her fingers back through her hair. “But I don’t think drowning the worries out is gonna help.” She teased with a small smirk.

“It’ll sure make me feel better for now though” She mumbled as she poured Zelda a drink before quickly filling her glass with the remaining liquor and topping with just a splash of soda. “It’s gotten me this far after all” She plopped back down onto the bed once she handed the drink over, quickly glancing at her phone with a soft sigh when she saw a lack of notifications. She knew she was being irrational, but she never said she was rational.

                    “ can you believe it’s already going to be halloween? gosh. i feel like once summer is over, it’s like, boom boom boom - halloween, thanksgiving, christmas, then new years… & i mean, summer is just a few months away at that point… then it’s rinse, wash, repeat. ” drew finds herself rambling the pointless shit that crosses her mind & stops herself before she’s babbling. “ but   back to halloween… do you think if i found the iconic dress julia roberts wears in pretty woman, people would know who i’m dressed as? ” she’s genuinely curious. drew low key already found the dress. she was an avid shopper. of course she did. “ i have like, 4 costume parties to go to, & i’m a bit behind on the costume planning. so if you have any costume suggestions, i will consider them. happily… wait, do you have any costumes planned yet? ”

“The older you get too the faster time seems to go by.” Stevie nodded with a small smile, “I’ve always been a big fan of Halloween myself, getting to dress up and be someone other than yourself for the day or the weekend if you’re lucky and go to costume parties” She chuckled “Plus Halloween is my best friend’s birthday so it’s always a fun time” She pointed out. “I mean I  would know, Pretty Woman’s a guilty pleasure of mine.” She ran her fingers through her hair. “I have a couple ideas thought out, it’s just a matter of finding the costume pieces I want”

“I don’t know...” She said softly and sighed, resting her chin on the top of the pillow. “I’m just....tired of people leaving me” She mumbled. “And I don’t want to get close to him...and then him leave too...” She furrowed her brows before she shook her head and cleared her throat, “You want a drink? I need a drink” She nodded once as she scooted off the bed and headed towards the kitchen

“And you don’t think that’ll happen?” she asked with a soft frown, “Although… I will say, since he works with Danny I will say the scheduling can be difficult. The days after Danny works, he sleeps most of the day and I only see him for maybe an hour or so before he goes back to work.” she explained. “So my advice on that is just to be patient because I’m sure he wants to see you again ya know, he’s probably just tired.”

“I don’t know..” She murmured with a shrug. “I’m not really used to guys wanting to not have sex with me right off the bat so this is already uncharted territory” She ran her fingers through her hair. “I’m just...not getting my hopes up...not again” She sighed softly

                 she’s STARED at herself in the same halo-lit mirror for ages now, but she’s no closer to making up her mind.   lale hates chandelier earrings, she truly does.   they feel ungodly heavy, and don’t match the simple golden bracelet around her wrist nor the MINIMAL makeup on her face.   if she was shopping for herself, then, the decision would be easy.   but when your family could fill a VILLAGE, the holiday shopping had to start in autumn.

“Shut up” Her cheeks burned a deeper red. “We had fun..he’s a good guy.
